Universe version reminds me of "zombie" Cyclonus from IDW, even though he was coloured like the henkei version.

Funny, plenty of people liked it.

Right. I agree 1,000%. PEOPLE , as you said, liked it not most TF fans. From the response from the 5-7 TF boards I visit daily, I'd say that 70% of TF fans hated the movie.

The general public and newbies like yourself, no offense, who never were TF fans before the movie loved it. It was a good "action" movie but it failed as a "Transformers" movie.

The Transformers elitists, that you like to use, didn't like the movie and for good reasons.

All I can say is that it was SO much better than I expected a Transformers movie directed by Michael Bay to be.

So since it was direct by Michael Bay, your expectations were lower?

I liked Michael Bay's Transformers a lot. And I grew up with Gen 1 as a kid like most 30 something year old males, and I have all the old episodes on DVD which I enjoy watching with my kid. I didn't feel he raped the TF universe in the least bit. Transformers in the 80s has it's place, as Bay's live action TF has it's place. Had he stayed true to the design and themes from the 80s show, the film would've been rather... silly?

I agree. I didn't want it to be like G1. I wanted it to be good.

I actually liked the robot designs. My only gripe with them were the fact that first Megatron didn't have an Earth form and second I didn't like the crazy robot heads. If they could make Prime's head G1-ish why not the others.

I loved the Transformers movie and am a G1 fan. I have to say what made it for me was that the story and the characters were pretty much based on G1. Also the fact that Peter Cullen portrayed Optimus Prime automatically gave it old school street cred.

I felt the film was all flash, no substance, and while it might have had the concept of Transformers, it lacked the heart.

Great action scenes and special effects....terrible characters and story.

The story was awful. It was more about Spike trying to get into Megan Fox's pants than the Transformers. Not that I have anything against Megan Fox. :naughty

Why was Prime the only Autobot who had more than 5 lines of dialouge?

Cause they are robots we can't get any kind of character development?

The Decepticons were just cardboard cut out villains with no personalities at all. In fact in the entire movie, the Decepticons had less than 25 lines total. Megatron had about 15 lines, Blackout had 4 to 5 when he confronts Spike and Starscream 3 to 4. Half of Megatron's lines were, "Where's the Allspark?"

I wanted to see Autobots battleing Decepticons not a bunch of military guys shooting Decepticons.

If your first exposure to Transformers was nothing older than say Beast Wars or Beast Machines all I can do is try and explain that magic that we all felt back in fall of 1984 when Transformers first premiered. To me it seemed that the people who made this new movie recognized that G1 is special and tried to apply it to this film. I am really looking forward to the sequel.

:lol You don't know me too well.

I've been collecting Diaclones since '79.

Sahweeeet, just got my shipping notification on Encore Trailbreaker & Hoist :rock :rock

Awesome!!

I already got the originals so I passed on these.

I did get my shipping notice for Henkei Hound. :rock

Yep, I hate Michael Bay in general. Armageddon was a pile of crap. But I like the Transformers movie just fine. Sure, it could've been better. But it could also have been SOOO much worse. I mean, just look at all of the attempts that Hollywood has made at tapping into nostalgia for old TV shows. Most of them are terrible. A lot of transformers fans wanted a movie just about the robots, but that wouldn't have been a success at the box office. They had to blend human characters with the robots to make it more approachable for general audiences.

Of course my low expectations might have had something to do with how I reacted to the movie, but I can say for sure that if it wasn't for the movie I wouldn't be collecting transformers again. It just sparked my interest again.

I just started collecting back again a year before the movie release and once it did all hell broke loose and I was 5-8 years old again!!!

Nice! Yeah, I never had these 2, so I was really glad to see them put in the Encore series. Can't wait.

I originally had Henkei Hound on PO as well, but canceled him when I saw the Hasbro one in stores... that one works great for me. I'm keeping my Henkei Cyclonus though, definitely worth it in that case.

Newbie? Who the ^^^^ do you think you are? I've loved Transformers ever since I watched G1 on Sky when I was 3 or 4, so please, save me the goddamn "TRUE FAN, YOU'RE JUST A NEWBIE LOLOLOL" crap.

And nice of you to put words in my mouth, I NEVER used the words "Transformers elitists" and you know DAMN well what I meant with 'people'. And no, vocal whiny ^^^^^es who get every chance they get to whine about the movie do NOT count as a majority just because they have more posts, or troll under aliases.

Now are you done acting like a geewhunner and behave like a mature person? ^^^^, I can understand people not liking the movie, but COME ON.

That said, have some concept art of TFC's next project: GEAR OF WAR.

It would have been cool if they based a movie on Diaclone but wouldn't that be a Microman movie?

Nobody said the movie was perfect and yes, there should have been more Autobots and Decepticons, or Cybertrons and Destrons, but that doesn't change the fact that it was a good movie.

The movie also breathed life back into the property. No, Transformers never went away but Cybertron and Energon weren't the best series I have ever seen. Gundam consistently has good tv series, why not Transformers? Now luckily the current Transformers animated series is great and owes its creation in no small part to the success of the movie. As a fan of G1 and the 'old days,' I am very happy with the state of the franchise.

I gave up on arguing about the movie, people have their minds made up & will defend their opinions to death:horse Me personally, I grew up with the 80's show AND I enjoyed Michael Bay's movie as well. Can't wait for part 2 this summer.

But anyway, I need that rocket launcher set for my Sideswipe. Am I gonna have to buy the whole set?

I actually prefer the water gun on Inferno. I thought I was going to hate it, but without the crappy water missile, it looks pretty sweet.

Now now guys, no fighting. Be it Diaclone, Microman, Gobots, etc.... lets not forget that Hasbro had the part in making Transformers what they are today. Then we had Marvel, and DW, and IDW. We had Beast Wars, Beast Machines... we had Energon and Armada and Cybertron... we had Headmasters, Minicons, Micromasters, Pretender Shells....

My point is, whether you like the movie or not, it's a Transformer design. They've always been different throughout the years, and they'll continue to be different throughout the coming years.

So lets be fans about it, and enjoy the fact that Transformers exist in the first place.

those accessories are pretty sweet looking. nice to see they are keeping to the cassette design even though most people today dont even know what a cassette is. i hope they make a kickass rumble soon that is a cassettte and has his piledrivers.

I'd like a Beastbox myself.

My take on the Michael Bay movie is that it wouldn't have made as much money had it been mode soley for the fans who grew up with G1.
I don't like the Bionicle-esque Bayformers but there's been so many homages to G1 already that someone had to take a new approach sooner or later and as the box office is the only real judge of things then I'd say it worked.

I got Henkei Hound & Ravage today and think Hound is awesome, far better than the last Autobot I got (Ironhide) and with Takara's paint apps looks one of the best in the line in both modes.
Ravage on the other hand is total crap and if Takara or Hasbro decide to remake any of the other G1 cassettes I hope they make a better job of it.

How abouttttt this:

Been talking about this on other forums. Hasbro has really raised the bar on this one, IMO. The sculpting, transformation, and movie-accuracy is a whole new level for them. How they got all of that robot to fit in the truck, and have all the pieces end up where they do in the movie, is beyond me.

2009 Leader Class Movie Prime.

Yup and he's a beaut to top it off... Now I hope hasblow actually adds some nice paint to bring out the details on this mold... The least they can do is add silver to the grey parts instead of just leaving them a dull grey which really takes away from the detail...

...Damnit, now I'm starting to wonder what Hot Toys could do with a 18 inch Prime that went for 200. Hasbro has a pretty much perfect transformation at a 40/50 dollar pricepoint, so imagine...:drool
