I'm going to the midnight showing tonight so we'll see. There are plenty of people who hated the first movie, so I wouldn't be surprised to see the same thing happen with the second. But I loved the first movie, so I'm fairly optimistic.

well the pre sale for imax at a local theatre here in montreal was sold out a couple of days ago! Its going to be packed!

So before I go homicidal with Megatron, does anyone have the instructions handy for the masterpiece Megatron? I have misplaced mine and I have him almost done, but not quite.

^^^^ reviewers and their reviews. :monkey4

Most of those dudes have forgotte how to just have a good time at a movie. The people who's opinion I do trust? 1) Mine 2) My friends who have similar tastes as mine.

I got a PM from my buddy Karma, he lives in Scotland so he's already seen this, he said he LOVED it and that Optimus Prime kicks all kinds of ass. He's not even that much of a TF fan.

I completely agree with you. Half of these freaking reviewers think that every movie needs to have some deep rooted meaning of life message attached with a complex plot that can only be surpassed by some over the top, over acted script. For crying out loud is a freaking Sci-Fi movie with 30 feet brawling robots. The thing to do with these movies is to leave the left side of your brain in the entrance of the theater and take the these movies for what they are, a fun filled couple of hours with plenty of eye candy and senceless acting and action. I enjoyed the hell out of the first one with my kids (specialy all of the Disney Channel actors in the movie) and will sure enjoy this one. I love the robot desings too and the more insectoid they look the better.
With these types of movies I look at it this way, even if the plot and actors suck I'm still getting a full fill of the movie genre that I love.
As for the racist issues, we live in a diverse society and different races, cultures and nationalities have different habits and flavors. That's what makes us different, fun and interesting at the same time. People need to look at their skin, language, culture and uniqueness and be proud as a well share it with everyone. I'm hispanic and I've listen to plenty of spanish radio station mock and make jokes about our own culture and habits. I don't get offended and understand that this is part of the culture's mainframe. Everytime someone does a hip hop style character with some hip hop style lingo the race card gets pulled out. Hip Hop culture was mainly created in the streets of predominatly black neighborhoods and this should be accepted and embraced as so as well as understood. My son is blond with blue eyes and listens to K.West and Lil,Wayne sometimes and I've seen plenty of Chapelle shows which exploits every possible stereotype imaginable. OK, I'll shut up now. Just needed to vent a little. I hope I didn't offend anybody with my views and opinion and I can also relate and respect anyone that may have a contradicting view. Last, so-rri 4 a-knee miss-pelled wurdz:D.

Well said man! :duff

This movie is gonna F'N ROCK!!! :rock

yeah but hes worth it, plus i already have all the deluxes  and waiting for new waves sucks. i just wish i had some other HA fig to go with him.

With all the bells and whistles he comes with and a better car mode, he does look better but not as accurate to the on screen BB, i think the deluxe still has a more accurate movie look, the face especially..i am not a fan of the solid light piping on HA BB but, still looks nice just not $50 nice IMO..would rather spend that kind of dough on Leader Prime.

Damn, this guy on CNN hated the movie (although it sounds like he didn't like the first one either.)

This part makes me think he doesn't understand how many adults are TF fans.

The truth is, Bay is a rotten fit for this assignment; he's much too self-important to recalibrate his approach for the younger audience this material demands.

Memo to Michael: It's a toy movie. Your audience is predominantly teen and pre-teen. My kids don't need to see your salivating soft-porn fantasies or your reactionary militaristic politics.

Most of all, none of us needs to sit through 2½ hours of this inane and mind-numbing movie. Better it should be melted down for scrap.

transformers has been in my life since 1985-no way was this film goin to disapoint! if any one wants to watch transformers 2 online -pm me for the link!

yeah im not a fan of the piping, but i plan on getting 4 more, and no im not gunna pay $50 bucks for each one, i just couldn't wait for my work to get them in.
and i want to light one of the in both the lights and cannon.

I'm back home now. (There's nothing after the credits so don't bother staying like I did -- there are a couple of short scenes at the beginning of the credits though.)

My short review:
Overall I'd say it wasn't as good as the first, but still very enjoyable. There were some pretty impressive fight scenes -- Optimus is a badass. I thought they went for laughs too often, though. It was funny, yes, but it ended up cheapening it a bit -- one shot involving Devastator in particular was groan-inducing.

I was disappointed that we didn't really get to know most of the robots very well. Ironhide and Ratchet really only had small parts, and new characters like RC were barely heard from at all. We did get to know the twins and Jetfire a bit more, but unfortunately they were more for comic relief than anything.

But anyway, it was pretty cool overall, and the audience appeared to like it. There are some things I might have liked to be different, but it's definitely not one of those "oh crap they screwed it up" kind of movies.

That's funny. He says "Most of all, none of us needs to sit through 2½ hours of this inane and mind-numbing movie", yet everyone and their granmothers will end up at the theater seeing a movie that's gonna make millions upon millions $$ regardless of his opinion or over critical review. I guess everyone does need to sit through it:lol.

That's funny, the majority of Pre-teens/teens I know are into skateboarding, not into Transformers. I'd say 90% of the fanbase is Adult males, us.

:rock :rock :rock

what are people expecting titanic or somthing
No ^^^^, seems like they expect that of EVERY movie now.
