I don't know if this has been posted here or in another Transformers thread somewhere, God knows there's a lot of dialogue since the movie, but I just got my subscription copy of ToyFare today, the September issue #121, and in it, on page 24, there is a incoming report showing pics, of

TRANSFORMERS ROBOT REPLICAS!

Non-transforming large robot versions of the MOVIE Robots!

I knew it! I had read something somewhere, but to see pics is very cool.
If no one has seen these, I will attempt to scan it soon.

They look VERY posable, and pretty darned movie accurate to me.
Shows Barricade, Bumblebee and Megatron, and they all look very, very cool.

Hope that's news! :D
If not, it's still cool!

when you say "large", what size are you talking?? there are robot replicas coming out for about 12.99, so i would guess those are only about 6-8" tall max.

pics PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info Les, I may have to look for that magazine to check it out. Hasbro unveiled Robot Replica figures like you speak of at Botcon, but those figures are going to be about 6" tall, and appear to be like the Revoltech figures, which still look great for the scale they're in, but I'm curious to know if larger ones will also be made, can't get enough collectibles of the cool film designs as exact screen replicas :)

Well, they may be only 6", but that is large after those little metal ones I have seen at Walmart...but I hope they are larger....I'll get some anyway!

saw those Les from Toyfare. I believe Maulfan some pics of those in thier packages. I was hoping for them to be bigger though :monkey2

so what's up with the one walmart had on their site for like $70 or $80....where does that one fit in...i think we've had that conversation but I forgot how it ended.

That's, at the moment, a single figure in like a 12" scale, I guess since Bumblebee was the prominent robot of the film, he gets a lots of attention with collectibles.

As for the 6" scale of the Robot Replicas, I've seen the Revoltech figures in person at my local comic shop, and I tell you, they are the most badass 6" figures ever, sure large scale is great, but I'll guarantee these things blow us away.

Les, based on the article saying they're Hasbro, and the release of August which is same for the 6 inch line, I'd say they're the same.

Here's the quote I posted in the Best Transformers Toys thread.

Well, to address Dave's and my concerns as well as others that started this thread, Facebox posted some images and we've gotten confirmation that Hasbro will apparently realease more collector-aimed figures of the movie Transformers without transforming features so that the body can accurrately represent the film appearance.

Those Robot Replica figures are, as a Hasbro rep said at Botcon, Hasbro's way of making Marvel Legend-type TFs.

The scale on these are a little off but there will be a retailer exclusive Robot Replica 2 pack of Prime and Megatron of these that will be in "movie scale" later this year/early next year. If you really want these buy the other figures but wait for the Prime Megs 2 pack.

just to clear stuff up, these are indeed 6", fit right along with revoltech figures (in the last pics right above, that's the optimus prime leg next to a revoltech leg, with the photos comparing the ball joint of the revoltech figure to the ball joint of the hasbro figure (wow they look really similar...) but yeah, i'm excited about this. more stuff to pose with my revoltech figures.

good news about the prime/megatron 2 pack :rock

I'm anxious to see these next week at SDCC. I am pretty impressed with Ironhide, Ratchet, Bumblebee (08 Camaro), as well as Starscream and Blackout so far in the transformer toys... but accurate robot replicas is what I'm looking for!
