Okay guys, simmer down with the gay crap... You need some new material. It was funny for a few months, but now it's becoming really repetitive. I don't mind being teased. Heck, sometimes I ask for it, even encourage it. But definitely, you guys need new material.

Anyway, check this out!!! Look at the detail of this thing! It's amazing! I may just get it. Definitely the most detailed movie Optimus product out there so far. Too bad we couldn't get an entire body over a bust, but beggers can't be choosers... I guess.

It's a damn shame this is just a bust and not a full size statue, you are right though Eli, the detail is amazing!

that is unbelievable!!!

this has got to be a sign of things to come. i have no doubt that we will be getting full size statues of atleast prime and bumblebee sometime soon. and i'll be getting them both. (along with bust eli posted)

:)

I love that it comes with translucent windows and all of the little detailed pieces are in this bust. It's made by Tomy/Takara. So that could be a reason why the product is so well done. I wonder what kind of price this piece will fetch and how big it will be. I suppose once we figure out the size, then we'll also know the price. I wouldn't be against owning this piece if it was a couple feet in size. I highly doubt it, but it's the best movie Prime piece on the market.

The best movie Prime piece and he doesn't have any arms or legs. Oh man, that's too funny and paints a picture of how hard it is to come out with a high end collectible of such a highly detailed character design.

Would you all agree that movie Optimus has one of the most complicated character designs out there in motion picture history, if not the most? The Endoskeleton (only a few companies have really nailed it, like Hot Toys and CM), Johnny 5 from Short Circuit, and I suppose to some degree anything highly intricate like those characters aren't that easy to execute.

I certainly hope that someone *cough* Sideshow *cough* will get the idea to make full size statues, something with that amount of detail would be AWESOME!

I agree ill Jedi, but it would come with a very bloated price tag if executed properly!

Imagine if SideShow did make a mixed media figure ala Premium Format? Using metal for the outter parts of the body which would form the rig's exterior, and all the wiring would be made of real wires. The tires out of rubber. Chrome parts. Even if it was all resin, not only would the sculpt have to be extremely detailed and intricate as heck, reaching almost unforgivable levels, but the paint apps would be the big deal here. You know how often the sculpt of statues come out so well on a mass produced level, yet we cry about how our paint apps have issues with bleeding, lazy eye treatment, and sloppy patches here and there... Well these live-action movie Transformers would demand for such a highly detailed paint job, it would make anything SideShow has put out previously, a nice jaunt in the park.

I'm not saying it isn't possible. Anything is possible, but the sheer commanding detail and presentation of the piece at the size of other 1/4 PFs (19 to 21") wouldn't be cheap. I would say well over 500 USD!

That bust is super detailed. WoW :bow As much as I love for Sideshow to make a statue replica, I think the Japanese are only the ones that can execute the finest transformer statue.

A Mixed-Media PF with all the bells ans whistles would be awesome, but I agree it would cost an arm & a leg. I think a 14" statue would be more feasible and less of a burden on the wallet. We'd still have our detailed statue just not as big.

Having said all that in my previous post, there wouldn't be too many companies I would pin that kind of task on than SideShow, CM, and Tomy/Takara. If anyone can execute an exuberant looking movie featured Transformer, it's those companies.

Wouldn't it be sweet if Sideshow teamed up with one of those companies to produce a line of TF statues! :rock

Well if it's your arm and leg we're talking about, then SideShow get on that license!

hehe Kidding bro. But us fans and collectors can dream.

If we're going to dream. Might as well dream BIG!

I think Reinhardt is right, we will see something soon, with the success that the movie is having it would be insane for someone not to try and make these.

I don't think omitting the arms was a matter of difficulty, but artistic style. The traditional structure for busts is basically from shoulders up past where you might see any arm or upper body, like Sideshow's Legendary Scale and 1:1 busts, but Sideshow and others have been redefining busts in that smaller scale by incorporating arms and elements to add more to the overall piece, and I like that, but I would say the likely reason behind Prime not having arms in this piece is artistic choice, not to avoid hard work, certainly everything that is in the bust is far more detailed and intricate than his upper and even full arms.

If you guys are talking about PF dimensions with superb detail, say it is made of Metal and abs, we are looking around $1000. I mean, the Predator maquette is $1000 and it doesn't have too much complication of parts like the Transformers. Also, remember that General Greivous PF is $500 which I think is "nearly" as complicated as a transformers hands :D

I know what busts are bud. We're just saying we would rather have arms and legs, as in a full out statue vs. a bust. Most people prefer statues to busts. But this is still good. It open up the possibility we'll see a statue in the near future of that kind of quality. Which makes a lot of us very estatic! And one day, even more in debt. lol
