Now, thats the truth!

I certainly hope that someone *cough* Sideshow *cough* will get the idea to make full size statues, something with that amount of detail would be AWESOME!...this has got to be a sign of things to come. i have no doubt that we will be getting full size statues of atleast prime and bumblebee sometime soon.

A Mixed-Media PF with all the bells ans whistles would be awesome, but I agree it would cost an arm & a leg. I think a 14" statue would be more feasible and less of a burden on the wallet. We'd still have our detailed statue just not as big.I agree ill Jedi, but it would come with a very bloated price tag if executed properly!
Imagine if SideShow did make a mixed media figure ala Premium Format? Using metal for the outter parts of the body which would form the rig's exterior, and all the wiring would be made of real wires. The tires out of rubber. Chrome parts. Even if it was all resin, not only would the sculpt have to be extremely detailed and intricate as heck, reaching almost unforgivable levels, but the paint apps would be the big deal here...
I'm not saying it isn't possible. Anything is possible, but the sheer commanding detail and presentation of the piece at the size of other 1/4 PFs (19 to 21") wouldn't be cheap. I would say well over 500 USD!
Wouldn't it be sweet if Sideshow teamed up with one of those companies to produce a line of TF statues! That bust is super detailed. WoW As much as I love for Sideshow to make a statue replica, I think the Japanese are only the ones that can execute the finest transformer statue.

The best movie Prime piece and he doesn't have any arms or legs. Oh man, that's too funny and paints a picture of how hard it is to come out with a high end collectible of such a highly detailed character design.
I don't think omitting the arms was a matter of difficulty, but artistic style. The traditional structure for busts is basically from shoulders up past where you might see any arm or upper body, like Sideshow's Legendary Scale and 1:1 busts, but Sideshow and others have been redefining busts in that smaller scale by incorporating arms and elements to add more to the overall piece, and I like that, but I would say the likely reason behind Prime not having arms in this piece is artistic choice, not to avoid hard work, certainly everything that is in the bust is far more detailed and intricate than his upper and even full arms.
