Hopefully the game will have more depth to things like melee combat and bigger, better looking maps than the ROTF game which I found pretty boring after a while.

I love the design style of the robots in that concept art and would certainly consider buying toys based on them providing they didn't look as half assed as the majority of Hasbro's recent stuff.

During the Decepticon campaign there's going to be a boss fight with Omega Supreme and in their own campaign the Autobots have to defend Iacon from something, maybe Devastator?

I think that robot that most people assume to be Blitzwing could just as easily be Onslaught as there's more in common with the G1 version of the character ( check out his original box art ) than anything from the godawful excuse of a series that was Animated.

I'm not digging that concept art for a game at all, we need a game with good story and gameplay based on strictly G1, i know there was one for PS2 i think but, it sucked apparently and was only released in Japan i think.A G1 style game is the way to go..play as Optimus for a few levels..confront Megatron half way through then get your ass whooped, then play as Magnus and get your ass whooped again by Cyclonus and finally play as Rodimus and take out Galvatron, make it loosely based on the movie.

Why make a game that's based on a crappy 80's movie that would be entirely predictable in how it plays out when there's a chance to do something new and intresting with both the character designs and the story?

G1 has already got more than enough homages in one form or another and IMO the franchise needs to keep trying new things to stay fresh.

I have that Ps2 game. It's called transformers Tatakai. The gameplay sucks but beating up robots with Magnus, Shockwave or Galvatron really rocks. And you get to battle the likes of Predaking, Computron, Trypticon, Metroplex etc. I still love the game. If you are not a G1 fan, don't ever get this game! It'll bore you.

I cant remember exactly but the roster of total useable characters is about 50.

Whilst the execution is debatable Beast Wars does represent an attempt at going in another direction so I'll give it credit for that.

What I like most about the War For Cybertron designs is the similarity with some of those from The War Within comic series and I'd love to see the Dynobots make it into the game. A Voyager or Leader Class Grimlock that turned into a Cybertronian tank would rock!

All the new incarnations of Transformers are crap(with the exception of a few character designs) IMO. G1 Transformer designs i like the best, i doubt my opinion will ever change.

Yeah G1 all the way. The designs were simple but cool. I just can't get used to the over elaborate designs of the newer series.

From what I heard the ones who made Darkwatch, that western vampire shooter. So not topclass developers, but capable ones anyways. Enough to get hopeful.

Right now I'm possibly more excited for the potential toys than the actual game at least until actual gameplay footage is shown.

If that Prime proto turns out to be Voyager Class or bigger then it should be pretty awesome and having missed out on a Classics or Animated Omega Supreme it seems that the War For Cybertron line will provide an opportunity for Hasbro to make up for it.

Then there's the possibility of a cartoon, if it happens will it be CGI or traditional animation?

Okay, some fankits I have doubts about, but both of these WILL be mine.

Finally gives me an excuse to buy that movie Bruticus set, too.

Edit: "Defender" has diecast! And interesting, Bruticus seems to have new arms....Wonder what's up with that...

Edit2: For those of you wanting to get Buster Prime, wait a little bit. Appearantly there's a Japanese two-pack coming of Buster Prime and Jetfire, with the latter getting the premium treatment. Prime might lose the cannon and faceplate, but we should be getting pics soon (besides from the crappy tiny as ???? one that was only good for confirming the release).

Spri.....sorry Defender is nice but the diecast will inevitably mean a ridiculous basic cost plus higher than usual international shipping for a heavier package so I'm hoping it gets dropped for the final release.
