I can't be the only one that would sooner have seen a Leader Class Ironhide, Long Haul or Blackout/Grindor, an all new Voyager Ratchet mold and maybe a suprise like a Human Alliance Jazz instead of ugly ass crap like Bludgeon, Brawn, Dirge, Mindwipe & co.

You had me agreeing up until those. They're great looking figures with inventive designs and clever updates of old characters and are most certainly NOT 'ugly ass crap', IMO.

It wouldn't be us if we 100% agreed :lol

Dirge = A horrible hybrid of Bayformers and Animated design styles.

Bludgeon = Great tank mode, robot mode is EPIC FAIL ( esp the headsculpt )

Brawn = Great alt mode , robot mode is as generic as they come.

Lockdown = Looks like they slightly retooled the existing Animated mold. Which sucked.

Mindwipe = The Stealth fighter alt mode doesn't look accurate enough to fit in with the realistic Bayformers style and another mediocre robot mode.

Deluxe Ratchet = Should have been a Voyager and whilst the robot mode is somewhat improved the Hummer mode is now worse than the Voyager. Are Hasbro's designers really that inept?

If this is the best they can manage then Hasbro can stick their TF's up their corporate backside.

I picked up Recon Ironhide today, but haven't opened him yet.

I would LOVE a Leader Class Ironhide. Just like I'd love a Human Alliance Ironhide and Lennox.

My turn.:lol

Dirge: Original concept on the Coneheads. Unique transformation and look, and a great addition to the Decepticon airfleet. Awesome altmode too, we need a Harrier. And how is it Animated style?

Bludgeon: Great and much needed update. Clever design that makes him look a robotic skeleton in a robotic samurai armor. The headsculpt is a bit weird, but it can be replaced. Clever transdformation too.

Brawn: Robot mode fits the character of the guncrazy bruiser. Even the head makes him look like he's a trooper that belongs on the front lines, and he has the armor to protect himself, unlike Ironhide who is still rather exposed.

Lockdown: The TFA deluxe was underwhelming and the character deserved better. This figure is just that. Undoubtedly him, but even more badass, and the movie detailing looks great on him. Far more poseable as well, less things popping off...Just great overall.

Mindwipe: The altmode isn't Earthly, but still looks great and could work as a Cybertronian altmode, or even a prototype stealth jet. The robot mode especially looks wicked and oozes personality with his perfect mix of bulk and lankiness. A great headsculpt too, thanks to the three crazy eyes behind his visor, and his colors really work as well.

Ratchet: Reeks of a planned voyager that was downscaled, but he's going to be in robot mode anyways. Great accuracy to the actual CGI model, and he fits in with voyager Prime, Starscream and Megatron scale-wise.

To be honest, I am enjoying these original designs far more then the actual movie designs. No wacky designs, no unnecessary weirdness....If this is the best that Hasbro can offer, then I hope they crank out more. :rock

Allow me to retort :lol

Dirge looks partially Animated in design as the proportions of his jet mode are decidedly screwy. I don't whether Hasbro did it because they couldn't get the all clear to use the proper Harrier design but it just looks odd and the color scheme is hardly in keeping with the realistic style of the Bayformers universe.

Nothing else to add about the others though I suppose I could give Hasbro credit for trying to save me money.

I was messing about with Hybrid Convoy today and was able to sit him on the back of my niece's Go Go hamster and he "rolled out" like never before. Wish I could make a video as it looked hilarious :lol

I can't wait for Lockdown and Ratchet. Both figures look like they are a lot of fun. Deluxes have come a long way in the last decade and I am ecited to see what the next series brings. The one figure I am really hoping for before the end of the ROTF line ends is a new Jazz.

Hopefully Ironhide will get some Leader Class/Human Alliance love when the third movie rolls around.

If we get 4 new Leader Class molds they are likely to be,

Optimus Prime
Megatron
Bumblebee ( Already been rumored )
1 new character from TF3

Then again if Prime and Megatron are just retooled/repainted versions of the ROTF molds that would leave 2 more slots for all new ones which would increase the chances of a Leader Class Ironhide, Long Haul and Blackout/Grindor.

I'm not sure if Ironhide should get a leader class. I'd much rather have them bring back the Ultra class for the movie toys, and stuff him and, say, Bonecrusher in there.

A friend recently told me that Botcon was going to be in Orlando this coming year. Anyone know any truth to this, Ive done a few searches and found conflicting locations so I dont know what to beleive. Just wondering, ok back to figure talk.

I wonder which Red Rampage we will get....the one on the left(Takara) as seen in Asian magazine pages or Hasbro's photo shopped Yellow Rampage turned Red. I personally like Takara's version more because it is quite accurate.

Happy complete planetery rotation cycle everyone!

(happy new year)

Happy New Year to everyone in the thread! Here's to lots of awesome new TF's and several more friendly disagreements between me and RA88 :lol

Takaras version looks lame. It has yellow wheels ffs! So the arms look stupid.

But that's how it was in the movie.....I hate it when companies do that. They try to be so accurate even down to the screwed up paint the vehicle had in the movie.

Happy New years to everyone here!
