The New Optimus Prime statue from Popbox collectibles, looks ok except the oversized head :D

That looks terrible...Definately not worth 400 bucks.

But that's how it was in the movie.....I hate it when companies do that. They try to be so accurate even down to the screwed up paint the vehicle had in the movie.

Happy New years to everyone here!

Huh, never knew they forgot to paint the entire thing red. Kinda sloppy.

Nah, it's pretty poor especially for that price. Sideshow products rarely live up to their prototypes but even so I reckon their Prime maquette will be better than that POS.
Yeah, at $370 that thing's a joke. Leader-Class Prime is more detailed, nearly as tall, and actually transforms.

I can see why Hasbro chose BB for a new Leader Class as he's one of the most popular characters with kids but considering how the Human Alliance and Ultimate versions warm shelves I can't see this one faring any better.

As a mold it looks OK though I'm betting that all the silver areas in that image are Photoshopped in and the actual piece will have lots of that crappy grey plastic.

The gun arm looks a bit off with the filled in barrel as well, it'd be nice to have a large scale BB that actually had two hands or better still the option to switch between the two but that's clearly asking too much from Hasbro.

An easy pass.

Neither of those warm shelves around me - I haven't seen an Ultimate BB in a store in months, and The Human Alliance BB is is being restocked all of the time near me - the HA figures disappear and then more are put on the shelves.

I'm sorry guys, but I just don't see this selling very well. BB has a fair amount of figures out there already. If it was Ironhide or The Fallen, both brand new molds with no decent previous mold kids and collectors would most likely go crazy, or crazier for it. My prediction, Leader BB will eventually warm shelves like Leader Prime does now.

any one have any ideas on how much longer we will be suffering through the movie designs?

eager for a return to the classics and or universe series.

F'k sakes i know but, its good they keep releasing crap i am not interested in..more money to lock up for Hot Toys releases.

I only purchased two TFs in the last two years. G1 original Jetfire (mint) and the MP Grimlock. Like you guys said, there isn't enough stellar TF stuff coming out that screams I want it vs. the kick-ass Hot Toys figures that have been pumped out lately. I am actually getting back into DiD's figures, and add to the fact I also collect SideShow statues, I have no money left over for TFs, despite the fact it still is my favorite toyline to date.

Universe will come back around summer/fall 2010. Then there is also the possibility of a new cartoon line being released next year, or tie-in toys to War for Cybertron.

Indeed. I am getting quite tired of the movie stuff. Leader BB does look good though and I will pick him up along with Leader Starscream and the rest of the HA's.

I recently got Alternity Bumblebee and he is AWESOME! He is much better in hand than he looks in pics.

I'm the opposite - I'm loving the movie stuff. Haven't had this much fun collecting a while, I think largely because buying Transformers made me realize how much I miss the hunt - i.e buying it at an actual store as opposed to shopping online.

Of course, I was introduced to TF through the movies, so that's probably why I love them so much. I'm currently watching G1 right now.

I went to TRU today to get myself a TF to cheer myself up after the death of my little furry pal ( see my sig ) and was suprised to see Animated Wreck-Gar on the shelves for the very first time as it was one of those that seemed like it wasn't going to get an official release over here.

Even better Animated Voyagers were on sale at £9.99 so I saved quite a bit as Wreck-Gar is usually major scalper fodder on ebay.
