Page 2? No one talking anymore or what?

I just found out that the UK are getting shafted YET AGAIN by Hasbro who wont be releasing any of the "hunt for decepticons" stuff over here.
I didnt want any of it anyway but thats not the point.
I hope generations get a release over here as i want the WFC stuff.
So you still think Hasbro is a good company and not stupid and lazy, FR?:banghead

yes I do. I'm 100% positive there are reasons to why this is happening again. I'd assume the 2-3% of other lines previously available and not selling in the UK (or other parts of the world) are reason enough for Hasbro to just make those cuts.

Lemme make it more simple to understand. If you had a lemonade stand that did great business and sold thousands of glasses on a specific corner, then you thought it would be a good idea to open a second stand in an alley a few blocks away. The alley stand sold 2 glasses the whole week! oh no! Would you bother setting up the alley stand next week?

It’s easy to be reasonable and accepting when it doesn’t effect you though. If a load of European exclusives were released that you had to pay 4x more to import I doubt you would be quiet so philosophical about it. Especially if it happened time and time again.

Nobody is arguing that we are obviously a much smaller part of the Hasbro business model, that’s obvious. The problem with Hasbro in the UK is they don’t seem to do any market research into their own target group. They have 25 years of experience and data of selling these things in the UK but always stupidly over order the early waves so they end up just sitting there, and then use that as a reason to skip later waves. A bit of research and they would have less shelf warming figs and more sales which means more money for Hasbro. I am not saying Hasbro is bad company by any means, but I certainly think they could be a bit smarter.

Well put. As an example of Hasbro's dubious thinking towards the UK market I think what happened with Animated Ultra Magnus says it all,

One would think the logical choice would be to bring over the first version as most people would want the one that was show accurate.

Hasbro instead skipped it but we DID get the Roadbuster repaint that nobody but the completists gave a crap about.

Very true !!
That was a truely Awful business decision and a perfect example of what I mean when I say they just need to be a bit smarter.
I sometimes think the UK is the dumping ground for all the leftover figs that didn't sell somewhere else.........

@zeiss where can I order one? :)

Right now, the only place you can order the mini-MP Prime is at Igear's online store. The first batch is sold out but a second batch is coming in June-July (I think). Other online retailers have not picked up this figure as they are afraid of incurring Hasbro's wrath. A review of the black testshot was very positive.

The link to IGear's shop is

https://shop.igeartoys.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=52

In addition to the regular colors, IGears is producing a clear version and a black Nemesis Prime version.

The "dumping ground" theory would certainly explain why the Animated Wreck-Gar and Shockwave had Mexican instructions when they finally arrived here.

What was so frustrating with the latter waves of ROTF stuff being missed is that Transformers were the biggest selling toy in the UK in the initial months after the cinema release so common sense would dictate that offering the full range would help maintain consumer intrest but as always everything stopped after a certain point and we just got overstocks of the first few waves instead which to this day are still warming pegs.

Hasblo is stupid. Simple as that. Anyone who doesnt think so is either an american where they get everything served to them on a silver platter and thus likely has no idea how the rest of the world works, or is just a delusional lunatic.

That said...who are the REAL lunatics here? Them, or us mugs who still give those idiots our money?

man, even after warnings, you still roll on.
nothing is easy in America. Americans pay high taxes and work our asses off to get what we want. most don't get what they want. Is it the average American's fault Hasbro shafts the UK? Here's some clues, don't like Hasbro? don't buy their products. Simple as that.

The one in the pic with Grimlock/Starscream is different, btw. Ears are straight as they should be.

It's the same toy, 2 different headsculpts are included.

There's also a second set of hands that have increased articulation ,all the other extras the official one had and an extra rifle that fits in the hand of Classics/Henkei Prime.

Some TakaraTomy news: According to Kapow Toys, they're going to come out with a remold (new head) of Armada Unicron later this year as part of the 2010 celebration. And S250 heard a rumor that we might see a MP Rodimus Prime later this year as well!

Mate we all work hard and pay taxes, wherever we are in the world.
Obviously it's not the average americans fault that Hasbro "shafts the UK" and I am certainly not saying that.
At least you are admitting we DO get shafted. Allow us to be unhappy with the way we get passed over and ignored by hasbro without taking it as a personal attack.
"Don't like hasbro? Don't buy their products" is missing the point. We want to buy their products but they wont let us !!

Having said that, I'd always take a Takara product over a hasbro one....
