I'd love to see a MP Hot Rod/Rodimus. I don't like the character (or more specifically, what they did with him....Temp Prime) but I LOVE his design. :rock

TFW has some new pics of the new Voyager Movie Optimus Prime who even comes with his own Matrix Of Leadership!

https://www.tfw2005.com/transformer...s-prime-black-buzz-lightyear-and-more-169557/

I simply LOVE this new mold! To me the Leader toy is one of the best TF's ever made (i know BCM has a few issues with him ;P) and to finally see Hasblo redesign that disappointing original voyager mold with something that looks like a shrunken down Leader class is something im really happy about.
Just a shame they skimp on the paint, but thats to be expected i guess. I cant wait to get one and give him a good paint job, and the addition of The Matrix is an awesome little touch.
I just hope it actually gets released in the UK, but im not holding my breath. Its at least something id be willing to pay import prices for though.

I do know what you mean guys, although I have to disagree in that I think this is one of the more friendly and welcoming sites out there. I’ve not been here very long, or post that often, but always found the guys here to be really cool.

I agree The Transformers community as a whole does seem to be “at odds with itself” right now and it does get tiresome. Gen1, Beast Wars, Animated and the movies seem to really polarise opinion which leads to “friction”. I guess it comes down to the fact People joined the fandom at different times and have their own definitive series that they genuinely care about. If someone makes negative or derogatory comments about your favourite it’s natural to defend it. The problem is when discussion turns into baiting and outright name calling. Lets be honest phrases like “Bay raped my childhood” and “Animated is an abortion” don’t help anyone.

There is no such thing as a “true fan”. You know what Transformers and your collection means to you and that’s all that matters. Nobody should need validation from strangers on a message board about what they like, or feel the need to change anybody else’s opinions on what they don’t. To be honest all the arguments have been had a million times over and people really aren’t going to change their minds now.

Gen1 = stupid stories, outdated, animation errors
Beast Wars = Truck not Monkey
Animated = horrible designs, to kiddy
Movies = No characterisation, rubbish plot.

For myself I love Gen1, I love animated and am looking forward to WFC. The rest leaves me pretty cold. Does that make me less of a fan than someone who likes all areas of the franchise? Not in my opinion. Do I look down on anyone that hates the stuff I like? Heck no! Each to there own! The irony is I really don’t think there has been a better time to be a fan of the franchise. Masterpiece, Classics/Generations, Movie, Animated, 3rd party companies and the upcoming game means there is something to keep everyone happy.

If people spent more time enjoying the parts of the franchise they like and less time trying to “put Down” the parts they don’t It’d be a happier place. Someone doesn’t agree with you or try’s trolling just smile and move on !

To be fair the UK does get the shaft from Hasbro far to often and yeah we will moan about it because it's frustrating. Hasbro are awsome but not above critisism. If they catered to the market here properly they could make a lot more money, surely the aim of any business? Having said that us Brits do get it better than a lot of other places in the world, which I sometimes think we forget.

LOL, instead of John Cleese can you you read me as some cool British Bond villan Deak? Anyone but Hugh (effin) Grant :D

You can be Ian McShane. As for Dubz, he's too negative plus he won't get off (no pun intended) RF jock. Sad really. But yeah I don't really care if people don't like Animated but it is far superior (fact) than the movies. Agree to disagree I guess. I just wish people would stop being cocks around here (including myself). I'll drop it. :duff

We can say ____?

Edit, I guess only if it's plural. That's....weird.

I'll take Ian Mcshane mate :D
Deak you are one of my fave posters on this whole board. I agree that Animated is the nuts. Great character development, a story that was planed from the begining to end and made by people that genuinely love the whole mythos and lore of TFs. Thats the reason Beast Wars was incorporated and all the nods to Gen1, which IMO make it awsome.

I Dislike pretty much everything about the movies if I am honest, but they are now as much a part of TF's as Gen1, Beast Wars or anything else. People like it and it's up to them. Their opinions won't be changed and if it's something they enjoy shouldn't be. Sometimes its better to just leave it at that. You love animated Dubz doesn't . There really is no right or wrong and we all love those big arse transforming robots, whatever part of the franchise we live in.

Mate you are better than being pulled into an argument that in the end just makes everyone involved look bad.

Damn!! there is a bunch of idiots here calling them selves Transformers Fans! they Dont even know The Death of Prime :monkey4:monkey4:monkey4:monkey4

If only there were more people like you.
I have no problems with people who like animated.
What i take issue with is when those people try to convince me to like something i dont, or claim their opinions as "fact" and call others "non fans" for not liking something.
That sort of attitude just reaks of douchebaggery and i wont stand for it.
Its fine to trash each others likes, thats part of a discussion and if we were all "positive" all of the time then there wouldnt be much to talk about would there?
Its retarded to think that when you come online all people should talk about is rainbows and cotton candy and ponies.
Its like they think they are in some sort of bubble of happiness and perfection where nothing can ever go wrong and those people need a serious wake-up call.
Life isnt like that so why the feck should the online world be any different?
Different opinions are a necessity, just dont claim yours to be "fact" or any more valid then somebody elses and when that happens we can all get along.

No worries Dubz, is all good :D

I know people aren't going to agree all the time and discussing different views and opinions is all part of the fun! Constructive crticism is all good on something you have an interest in but I sometimes think a bit of self censorship is needed. If you really dislike something (like Animated for you, and the movies for me) and you know you have nothing except negative comments regarding the subject why bother? What does it really add? Thats why I just stay of the movie board on TFWorld, I have nothing positive to add. Everybody hates "that guy" that comes onto a thread just to say it sucks and how bad it is. I think we should all just make an effort not to be "that guy" before we post :peace

Anyway, now the volcanic ash has Finally gone I'm looking forward to a big old haul from Kapow sometime next week. Looking forward to posting pics :banana

Well, I am new to the whole Transformers thing. (I´ve only seen the Movies from Bay a couple of times).
But after watching the Trailer for the new Video Game war for cybertron, I want to know more about the Transformers Universe.

Which Cartoon/Anime (don´t know how to call it) DVDs can you recommend ?

I´ve done research on Ebay and found DVDs like Transformers Armada etc.

What is the best to access to the world of transformers ?

Thanks in advance for your help

Well you have already started with the best! :p

Next you might want to try out G1, the original cartoon from the 80's.
After watching the movies they will seem very outdated though, but its where it all began so its worth a try.
But apart from the movies they are the only other thing worth watching.
Try out the G1 Movie as well, thats pretty good but comes in between season 2 and 3 of the cartoon series so you might not understand some stuff.
Dont bother with any of the later cartoons like Energon, Cybertron or Armada or Animated as they all suck (especially the latter:monkey5).
Some people like Beast Wars but i dont understand the appeal since all the robots do is turn into animals (Prime turns into a goddamned monkey ffs!), but you might dig that.

I can definately recommend Beast Wars. Still the best of all TF cartoons, just pure quality wise. The animal altmodes and the nowadays outdated CGI might put you off, but the writing for that show is superb. But only check it out once you've become a bit more familiar with G1, because Beast Wars is a sequel to that.

Animated is good too; the animation style isn't for everyone and some episodes are pretty bad, but overall it's a good cartoon that pays tribute to all Transformer shows. Might be another good starting point, but again, only if you can dig the artstyle.

Definately stay away from Armada-Energon-Cybertron, though. Terrible, terrible shows, with only a few good moments.

Oh, and in Octobre Discovery and Hasbro will launch a new channel called the Hub. It will show older TF cartoons (G1 is already confirmed), as well as an all new CGI show called Transformers: Prime. If you can get that channel, then it might be worth your time checking it out.

RID is an acquired taste. Very silly and over the top, cheesy too. If you like that stuff, then it's for you. But it was just too over the top for me. The toys kicked ass, though. :rock
