According to someone at TFW who seems to know the folks at iGear the Ironhide/Ratchet mold is entirely new and the only similarity with an existing product is the arms which seem to have the same transformation as the aforementioned Inferno.

The scale is set to be a bit smaller than Faith Leader in robot mode which I'm cool with as most vans and ambulances are bigger than sports cars anyway so it's not like they'll look out of place with other Classics, I like the idea of a big, bulky G1 style Ironhide especially with that Movie style BFG.

Definitely. I'm just thrilled to be getting extremely G1 flavored toys in a movie year.

The guy at TFW has apparently seen 4 original G1 themed toys for the PP series.

Assuming 2 of those are Ironhide & Ratchet I wonder what the others are?

New Beetle Bumblebee & Cliffjumper would seem a likely possibility.

Wow, went to TRU today and although they didnt have the big wall of transformers like they did for the last two movies they had a considerable DOTM display packed to the gills with all kinds of lovely stuff, including leaders.
I almost picked up a Sentinel Prime but the idiots at Hasbro have sent the UK EU versions with clipped voice chips, so he doesnt say "i am sentinel prime" just "sentinel prime". Morons. We are an English speaking country! Send your chipped voice chip sheite to non-english speaking countries! So i skipped on that, plus im sure takara will do a repaint that looks better soon enough.
I picked up a deluxe BB and Roadbuster instead as i wanted to buy a PS3 game too so i couldnt go too mad otherwise i would have got Megatron as well but he can wait. I love the new BB mold, much better than Battle Blades BB i think with a super fun transformation, and Roadbuster is an interesting new character, hope he gets plenty of screen time in DOTM.

I really hope to see some new generations at botcon! COME ON HASBRO DEVASTATOR!!

All the retools of the newer molds are probably what we'll get which is cool with me as I want a Hasbro version of the e-hobby Scrapheap.

As for Devastator, unless Hasbro can make one that's as big as the TFC one appears to be then I'm not intrested.

The guy at TFW who knows the iGear people has just dropped a rather big hint that the Impactor headsculpt that pics emerged of a while back has it's own body! :yess:

Ironhide & Ratchet will both be 7.5 inches tall in robot mode.

So I finally got around to picking up some of the new DOTM toys. My initail reaction to leaked pics and reviews was to get none of them. After recently watching Peaugh's reviews I knew I wasn't paticuraly thrilled with Voyager Optimus, on the the other hand I knew I had to get Voyager Shockwave. I caved at WM today and picked up both and deluxe Starscream. Here's my thoughts...

Voyager Optimus 4.5/5
I cound'nt have been more wrong about this guy, he is awesome. Rotating the arms to place the wheels behind makes all the difference in the world. He has great articulation, and his legs are molded perfectly. Even the fuel tanks are cool looking in person, especially in bot mode as they look very menacing from behind, plus they pop right off if you don't like them so no biggie. The "hood armour" isn't bad either, looks great in hand, and has to be part of some newly designed vehicle weapons system (I'm a nerd for sure for saying that) we'll see in this new movie. If this one is this good I have to break down and get the Takara version voyager w/trailer.

Voyager Shockwave 5/5
In a word he's fantastic, everything you could hope for in a movieverse Shocky. Doesn't get much better than this. (Light piping is so awesome)

Deluxe Starscream 4/5
For a deluxe he's pretty great, cool transformation, looks good in both modes, all around solid fig.

I love TF's, but have never cared much about scale, cause let's face it, with TF's perfect scale between your bots just ain't gonna happen. With that said I'm hooked again. Last movieverse TF I picked up (HA Jazz) was a long time ago and only made the fifth in my whole TF collection. But with these DOTM I'm super excited about the line!!!

I feel the same way about the DOTM toys, im now hooked on getting far more than i originally was going to.
I just wish more people would stop writing things off before they have even bothered to look at things in person or looked at some reviews first, or just because its made by Hasbro, as theres some awesome new toys out there.

bought skyhammer and shockwave today at tru. skyhammer is cool. shockwave is all kinds of awesome. don't really dig the alt mode but bot mode looks amazing.

Is anyone going to Botcon next weekend? It's my first time going and I'm taking my three boys. What can I expect as far as things for them to do without going to any of the panels? How are the prices for the figures? Thanks for the help.

Shockwave is indeed all kinds of awesome. Just wish his alt mode would have been a little more interesting, but it still is cool the way it is.

Sounds good! I just hope they don't jack the price up too high considering there's more R&D involved here than with several of their other releases.

Not 100% confirmed yet but a price comparable with FansProject's Warbot Defender was hinted at so around the $70-$80 mark seems likely.

Possible good news for those of you who missed out on Takara's Unicron. This pic was included in the Transformers Vault book, and it MAY be a Hasbro release of the remold:

Sounds good to me. Looking forward to more pics of these...

I can swing that. :)

I've been wanting a Buster Prime, I just purchased a loose/complete from a fellow bordie here for $30 shipped. I already got both the dual sword Prime and battlehook Prime, I just needed Buster Prime. I wonder if they could top this Prime with a new LC for DOTM.
