^^ Epic. What are the cannons from though?
Yeah, but you can have robot characters and still have a human story at the core, as you say.
The reason why we love Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, and the rest, is because of their very human attributes. That's why they work as characters.
Transformers have always had humans like Spike and the rest, so I'm not saying get rid of them completely. But stating that you need actual human beings in order to have "human" characters is completely false, especially in science fiction. Of course it could be done - it just requires the talents of someone a bit more, well, talented than the likes of Michael Bay.
Theres a few things you need to do actually, not just use primer.
For starters you need to give the toy a thorough inspection and find all the possible rub points, then you need to sand them down just a little to allow for the extra mass that the primer and paint adds.
Then you need to clean all the parts by soaking them in warm soapy water for a few hours.
This cleans off all the mould release residue and oils that can get on the plastic and stop the paint from adhering. You can use the strongest primer in the world, it still wont stick if the surface is dirty and oily.
Once all the parts are clean and dry only then can you start to prime and paint.
If all done correctly you should have a paint job thats durable and wont chip.
Chipping can happen on the best of paint jobs, dont beleive any customizer that says his paint is chip-resistant as its simply aint true.
Any paint will chip off given the right amount of force, but the trick is how to minimize it and the best way to do that is to follow steps like those above.
Using the right paint helps too. Acrylics tend to be weaker than enamels, but i prefer to use automotive paint. Strongest paint there is.
Does anyone know what's the best and most affordable Bumblebee figure? I want to get one for my nephew. Thanks for any help!
Thanks man..
They are from a SW Podracer.. a perfect fit if you ask me! and the right one was built using beads and some other random parts.. a light saber lollipop thing, the podracer parts, and some styrene..
a robot only film could be done, by the right people, the robots do have human character themselves, if allowed to.
People panned GL becasue the GL corps were there and then gone again, not enough time was spent on them, same with the TF films, we need less human story more robot story.
Make a reboot without Bay and have the story of the robots reacting to being on earth rather than the humans reacting to the robots on earth.
And lessen the amount of humans, make it more personal give the robots lasting dialogue between themselves and quirks that define who they are.
Easily the best part ot TF was when megatron said that Starscream has failed him yet again.

I was in the same boat but now...I can't believe i missed out on getting the DMK01...haven't been keeping track of transformers toys and now the DMKs are sold out.
Anyone heard any news on whether takara may re-release dmk01 optimus prime??

^ what he saidThe original Human Alliance one is really good.
There's also the Leader Class one out now, which is easily the best made thus far, but it's around $40. Whether that's affordable or not depends on your budget. The Human Alliance one will run you at least $25, though, and the Leader is more than double its size.
I noticed that TRU is having a Masterpiece Rodimus as an SDCC exclusive...damn it. I want it. That is all.
I am glad they are bringing it to the U.S. However, I like the japanese paint scheme more.
