Any more info on about the G1 custom upgrade kit you mentioned? The un-G1 headsculpt is what bugs me about Thundershred, and if I can get hold of a G1-esque one I'd be made up.

Here's a link to the thread at TFW,

https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/444225-insect-add-parts.html

The thread is going to be updated with the relevant info when they're ready to take orders so I'll keep checking and post a link here when the window for ordering opens.

I think Thundershred's head is OK but the faceplate is what throws things off as the G1 toy and animation model didn't have one.

So you agree with his idiotic statement? Does that mean you dont want the customs ive done for you? Ok, but theres no refunds and you pay for the shipping back.

Why are you getting worked up at me?

The guy made a post which made me laugh and that's all there is to it.

OMG...so much anger and hated over toy robots..calm down...like what you like and dont buy what you dont. Lets see some more pics of robots and less crying please

If you cant see the hate towards the official products...the constant whining about how Hasbro wont do this or that, or how much the movies and the toys sucked then you must have tons of people on your ignore list since you arent seeing their posts! lol

Im not getting worked up over everything, its the third party mafia who jump down my throat and demand an explination or a massive debate on why i think differently to them whenever i or anyone else says anything negative about their beloved knock off's.

This whole thing started because i said that people dont need to feel sorry for us who dont like these toys because i dont collect over-priced knock off's.
One simple comment which exploded in to what you see now because, god forbid, we dont all like the same thing or agree on every subject!

Fair enough. :)

But I will say this - we SHOULD collect what we like, but in my opinion we shouldn't let the fact that it's official or not determine what's an awesome toy.

Though I do understand that they are unfortunately expensive! :)

That kit looks great... do they say somewhere what it'll cost?

I'm just wondering if this is really worth buying if we end up getting more accurate ones down the road. I mean, what if iGear gets to the Insecticons... or should I really be asking WHEN iGear gets to them?

I'm one of the few that loves movieverse TF toys. And yes I purchased the Fairy Prime. I still need to put my DMK-01/02 together.

the third party stuff is unique and well made. customizers and repainters are all a bunch of theives IMO. hopefully this is short enough for people to read.

:1-1:

good thing what you think and what the law/truth is are two different things..haha

what is short and to the point is that even though I spend $600 on one devastator.. It will not stop be from purchasing one from HASBRO if it looks half way good.

I will not own k.o.s..stuff reverse engineered from official HASBRO/TAKARA products... but it looks like next year 3rd party is all I will buy other than the occasional TF:pRIME figure..

Not yet....I'm estimating it'll be in the region of $20-$30.

Considering how FP Shrapnel looks with the upgrades I'm not sure whether iGear will bother with their own because there's not really much else could be done to make them more accurate....chromed parts maybe but that's not really a priority for me.

Yeah, I'm kind of wondering what their overall strategy is, though.

iGear has so far filled in some nice niches - a Classics-sized Prime, the Conehead Seekers, and the upcoming Ironhide and Ratchet, as well as the Minibots.

But now we hear they're planning on doing all the '84 Auto-cars, as well as a new Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker. While I can understand not everyone got an MP Thundercracker, we can already get an almost perfect Starscream and Skywarp for at or less than iGear prices (yeah, yeah, hip kibble and all), and MOST of the Classics/Henkei cars could be considered "good enough" in the same vein as the FP Insecticons - but apparently they're doing it anyway, even MORE G1 accurate.

So what's stopping them from doing Insecticons? And if they can do Minibots at $15 each, I imagine they can do the Insecticons at, what, $30 maybe?

I read somewhere that iGear have registered 9 different versions of their Seeker mold which should be,

Ramjet
Thrust
Dirge

Sunstorm
green Rainmaker ( Acid Storm? )
purple/blue Rainmaker

Starscream
Skywarp
Thundercracker

MP Starscream never got an official release here and I never really liked the color scheme of the Wal-Mart one enough to pay for an import....the G1 toy & animation model wasn't white, it was silver/grey.

So I'm hoping iGear's Starscream is the same color as the original toy and maybe a bit of further remolding could be done to differ the facial expressions on Skywarp & Thundercracker....Takara's Skywarp had all new sculpts whereas the Hasbro version was a straight repaint of the Starscream version of the mold.

I wouldn't be against iGear Insecticons being made but once the upgrade sets for the FP ones are done there's really nothing aside from chromed parts that could be done to make any better looking versions of those designs so I think they'd be a bit pointless.

With the '84 cars the biggest difference will be the alt modes as they won't have to bother with lookalikes....they'll be the real deal.

Bumblebee as a Classic Beetle & Cliffjumper as a Porsche 924 are already confirmed and I'm hoping Wheeljack as a Lancia Stratos is one of the next ones to get announced as I don't think his Generations/United mold really does the character justice....it's not awful but the alt mode is neither one thing or another and compared to a unique looking car like the Stratos it's very bland.

Aside from the '84 guys it appears that more Wreckers from LSOTW are in iGears plans as headsculpts for Guzzle, Rotorstorm, Ironfist & Pyro have already been done and Impactor is confirmed.

If all of those get unique molds it'll be an amazing little sub group to display and maybe they'll go on and make Topspin, Twin Twist, Kup, Perceptor & Overlord as well.

LOL.

Not to worry mate. That comment was "tongue in cheek" and wasn’t a serious dig at customizers!

It was more a reaction to the implication that all “third party companies” are thieves who only come out in the dead of night. They then sneak into Hasbro’s employees house’s to drain their blood, sell their organs and steal their children’s piggy banks as they sleep :horror

While all customizers are noble souls (who somehow manage to take time off from their busy schedule of saving the whale and curing the sick) to provide a charitable service to their fellow fans. They are selfless heroes with no thought of monetary gain for themselves :peace

Both groups provide fans with more options and give us the ability to build a collection we truly love.
Both groups demonstrate considerable skill and dedication to their craft.
Both groups make money from Hasbro’s intellectual property without an official licence or permission.
Both groups are awesome.

However one group is to be lauded, while the other is to be vilified.

I'd say, as they have done Impactor then nothing is off the table. They could go with anything mate. Fingers crossed :)

BCM I can't believe you knew all that. How do you manage to keep up?? You are my "go to" guy on all upcoming transformer news :hi5:

Bob,
I think I have far too much spare time! :lol

Joking aside I think I've just got a knack for sifting through the BS and finding the nuggets of info in threads at places like TFW.

The iGear Seeker thing was a speculative comment from another member regarding future releases but it would seem logical.

So far we've had,

PP03-A = "Attack" ( Ramjet )
PP03-J = "Jet" ( Thrust )---got my shipping confirmation today! :yess:
PP03-E = "Elegy" ( Dirge )

The next 3 are,

PP03-S = "Storm" ( Sunstorm )
PP03-C = "Current" ( A blue & white one )
PP03-? ( the green one )

By the time the Rainmakers are released the official versions of the Seekers will have been out for long enough for ebay prices to rise a decent amount and if iGear can do a matching set ( Takara Thundercracker doesn't really fit with the Hasbro Seekers due to it not having a G1 style deco ) for the same kind of price per item as Sunstorm ( $100 ) I don't think they'll have too much trouble selling them.

LOL :lol
Well it's much appreciated mate.

I can't imagine how cool a full display of all those MP scaled seekers would look :horror

Have you heard any further info on the FP Collector? It seems to have gone very quiet. Do you think that the success of Generations Wreak Gar coupled with the custom add on kits might have made them shelve it?

I've got to admit with everything else coming at the moment it has dropped right down my list of wants, even if it is announced.

finally got this at toyrus today! tried all last week but was told sold out! i had them keep me one til i got there and it had a small paint defect on the chest so they went to the stock room and gave me a diffrent one-none were stocked on the shelves as scalpers have it on ebay already for £85 odd!
minor nitpicks-the combining gimmick does not work on the guns so they dont lock together and there is a small tool mark where his helmet is joined!

great lookin figure though! the grey plastic face doesnt bother me as much as id thought it would
