A very telling image.

Nostalgia is nice but bigger & more articulated = Better.

Incidentally is that G1 Devastator made bigger by the Crazy Devy add ons?

Wow an actual Transformer..never thought id see one of those in here.

Actually my Gen 1 Devy is heavily "third partied up" :rotfl

The Crazy Devy bits add a good inch in height to the original set up. I would say the arm is as tall as the entire original Devy :yess:

Exactly what I was thinking. The only figure I have from those comparison shots is Warpath and I'm shocked at how much bigger Exgraver is.
I think I'm in love.:love

You are not wrong. I am completely in love with this guy and the potential of the end product is just :eek

I honestly feel sorry for people who miss out on this set, for whatever reason. It's going to be the centrepiece of my Transformers collection for sure :yess:

I knew it added some height but I wasn't sure how much so thanks for the info :)

I've seen some criticism elsewhere that certain elements of the vehicle modes could be better....the exposed fists on Scavenger and what appears to be the arms in the truck bed on Long Haul but I think that compromises inevitably had to be made to keep the costs down as much as possible and TFC probably figured that most people will display their Constructicons as 6 individual robots or as Devastator so the vehicle modes suffered slightly as a result.

For me it's an acceptable trade off when you consider the scale of each 'bot and also that TFC are a small group with limited resources....the more complex a design, the more molds have to be made for all the different parts which would eat away their budget pretty quickly.

That they've done such a great job in capturing the G1 aesthetic whilst adding modern articulation and largely self integrated parts for the limbs is quite an achievement and once complete I think it'll be one of the landmark 3rd party releases in much the same way City Commander was.

All triple changers have trade offs on one mode, normally two. These guys are kind of 2.5 changers. They are certainly more involved, and as you said integrated then the gen 1 figs. The Vehicle modes have small "nitpicks" but work better than some official Transformers. The fact that the transformation on Exgraver is fairly simple and fun just makes it all the more impressive for me.

I Think that City Commander was the "King" of third party products, in so far as what it achieved, but I think that Hercules might just take his crown, and then stomp on his head :lol

Dont feel sorry for us, we dont collect overpriced knock off's, so we're not missing out in the least.

I don't think you know what "Knock off" actually means.

Designing, building, producing and packaging a figure from the "ground up" is a knock off and worthless?

It could be argued that slapping some new paint on an "official" Hasbro/Takara mold and then selling it for 4x (or above) the original price falls more closely into that description.

But thats customising and thats ok yeah? Once you paint and modify a figure it is no longer an "official" HasTak product either. So are people who buy your customs (or any customs) collecting overpiced knock offs too???

Don't get me wrong, I have NO problem with customisers just like I have no problem with 3rd party poducts. If they give people what they want and they are happy with it, then it's all good. I've seen some of your customs on here and (although normally Bayformers, which aren't my thing) they have been great and really impoved the original product.

You take some sort of moral high ground with 3rd partiy companies making money from the Transformers franchise but don't seem to recognise that customisers who sell their stuff do the same thing.

I really don't get the hate :dunno

That's true about Triple Changers, the toys lack the ability to make parts vanish into thin air like in the cartoon or comics so it's much more difficult for the designers.

Transformation-wise I'm fine with Exgraver, it goes from one mode to the next with a minimum of fuss and that's how I like my TF's to be!

The great thing about companies like TFC trying to steal FP's thunder is that it'll keep them on their toes so they'll keep trying to raise the bar which can only mean more great stuff.

When that bulldozer hits 88 MPH we're gonna see some serious ____.

Have they given any kind of specs on how big Herc will be when he's fully erect? :naughty

Awesome pic Bob! Man this thread got interesting REAL fast, nice philosophical debate on who Prime is and the differences in his many incarnations.

Wow an actual Transformer..never thought id see one of those in here.

LoLz.

Did you get one yet Thom?

Damn, I never knew Devy would be that huge.

As for movie Optimus Prime, I never knew a lot of you feel that way.

Eh, I separate the movies from the rest. He's not the be all end all of Primes. I enjoy the movies for what they are.

Dont feel sorry for us, we dont collect overpriced knock off's, so we're not missing out in the least.

Really Rub-Dubz? Knock-Offs? Sure iGear but FP and TFClub are trying here.

This thread gone on for way too long with no 3rd party talk:

He's got the chest inverted chevron thing, _____es!
