He's had that brought to his attention several times his defense is usually
"i'm a customizer, iv'e already paid hasbro for the parts i use"

I guess he doesn't understande trademarks and character properties. :cuckoo:

What a damn fool

I hope, Capcom, Hasbro, Mattel, DC, Marvel and every other company he infringed on destroy him

Everything is nicely detailed and the plastic quality is good but the pegs aren't a tight fit and I've had to put a bit of blu-tac in the figures hands to stop the guns from flopping around.

For $15 it's no big deal and as with the Kup heads I like the way the packaging can be used as part of a display so I think the set is decent enough value.

I also got MP Starscream, Thundercracker & Sunstorm which I've not opened yet but they all look really good so I just have to wait for Skywarp....I double checked my order details to make sure no shenanigans had occurred and it said the order had been part shipped so Skywarp must have been delayed.

New pics of HoS Shockwave. It looks awesome, and the deployable anker is a nice touch.

That looks way better now it's got a proper Shockwave color scheme.

I would really like to buy Shockwave as there's no decent official option ( FoC one is too small ) but the QC issues I've read that HoS Prime had means I'm going to wait until some in hand reports are in before making a decision.

EDIT,
Did a quick snap of Sunstorm,

Aside from Thundercracker's head being a bit wobbly which is fixable the QC on all of the Seekers is excellent and I'm hoping Reprolabels do their thing and make a set containing the tail fin stripes that are missing on iGears as well as some G1 accurate wing stripes for Skywarp.

Thanks! I always wanted the Warbot (Springer) is he worth it even for $80? Is any other Wreckers being made? Sorry I wasn't following any 3rd party because of the cost.

Ha! Very appropriate.

jin satome ( custom toy maker) has just made himself the most hated person in transformers fandom . He's been leading a crussade against 3rd party transformers for a while. He sucseeded in getting them banned from Botcon.

and today, this happend
>We have received word that artists that booked an artist alley table for BotCon 2012 are now being told that any fan art that may infrige on Hasbro's intellectual property or trademarks can not be sold at BotCon.

Those of you who make and sell custom figures on E-bay, BE CAREFUL, If they're going after artists now, toy customizeres are probably next.

Well, karma's a biotch.

I didn't know he was one of the crusaders. He's liable to have shot himself in the foot, considering that he's an easy target and seems to make a lot of money off his customs.

Oh well. I liked his stuff and actually bought a couple custom Joes from him in the past.

Totally agree. You can't go wrong at $15 shipped (or $18, whatever it is now).

The only problem I had with loose weapons were Kup's, but they weren't THAT bad. I never had to resort to anything extra to keep them on. I actually did a quick review of this on my blog (link below) as well, with some pics. Definitely recommend this set.

Oh, I think so.

Just beware - once you buy one pricey third party figure, you'll want others... :)

I just got MP-11 in the mail today. Pretty great version of Starscream - almost certainly the best yet - but I have to say, it's hard to get too excited about a mold we've already seen so often... I'm just fiddling around with it now, and will put up some pics and a review a bit later.

The headsculpt is nice, but so far seems to be a bit of a pain during the transformation. You can tell it's not really black in this picture - the dark grey works very well, imo.

It's just hard to purchase a TF for the price of a MP which is the size of a deluxe. Is he made out of a lot of diecast? How is the Wreckers Last Stand Novel?

Warbot is probably my favorite 3rd Party TF. I sold mine off a while ago and I have him siting in my cart with a very itchy trigger finger at the moment. He also went up in price while he was out of production for a while and this new run is priced higher than the last.

He's got die-cast parts. He's got a nice heft to him and I like all three modes, particularly the armored car, but you'll probably want to keep him in bot mode. He's got great G1 "chunk" but a pretty intricate transformation.

I would say he's definitely worth it and this is a great time to get him for around his original price.

This is the video that made me pull the trigger (reviewer really enjoys his nerd-snark but I like how he shows off the figures. I also have a high tolerance for nerd-snark when it's not Dur Hot Toys Fail Heth LEdger OmG).

And Wreckers is a must-read.

:gah: okay you win! I just purchased him and started a new pile o loot. Now I gotta find out how baddass Springer is in the comics. Was any other Wreckers announced to be released?

I love the designs of the igears but don't want to get into it.

Other than IGear's Impactor, which I'm not sure what the status is, I don't know if anyone has scheduled more Wreckers. I know Hasbro released a small (Scout class? I can never keep Hasbro's class system straight) Guzzle but he's got a movie aesthetic.

I haven't read Wreckers in a while but Springer is definitely revered as a badass even if he's not necessarily busting heads all the time. There's a lot of history to the characters, to say any more would get spoilery.

I don't follow current TF comics. I've never read two consecutive issues that kept my attention long enough. But when I read Wreckers (in TPB) I read it straight through in one sitting. It's just a good war story. And it's geared towards older readers, without getting ridiculously gratuitous (there's nothing I hate more than making a comic "mature" by dropping f-bombs out-of-character innuendo, etc). There is some graphic robot gore, if I remember correctly.

I really like Fansproject. I think their Insecticons are great. Also Knight Morpher, not sure the company, a steampunk Optimus that turns into a locomotive. I think it's based on the Hearts of Steal comic.

I'm not prudish about it but I'm not crazy about the IGear stuff that is straight-up re-casts of Hasbro product like their Seekers. I am way more interested in the original stuff they've shown like Ratchet and Ironhide but who knows when they will finally be released.

But my experience is limited. Ravenwood's the real expert. And by Ravenwood I mean Deak.

Arg! Does anyone know how long the sale will go on for? I won't have funds (for toys) until Saturday.

Thanks, I think I'll just stick to Warbot. I was looking at that Locomotive one and I don't like the design.

TFC Hercules. Instant centerpiece.

I would love to collect that but still at the price for all I rather spend it towards Hot Toys.

Is there any other Wreckers that was made other than Kup, Drift and Perceptor?

I'm not sure if he's got THAT much diecast, but he definitely feels heavier than most contemporary TFs.

I did a quick review recently as well and have pretty much nothing but praise for him: https://www.collecting-toys.blogspot.ca/2012/03/fansproject-warbot-defender-review.html

Thanks, is there any other 3rd party TF that is worth buying? Is most of it from comicverse?

I've got the Hercules robots (only missing Exgraver, which is tied up in another preorder that came later than expected!), the FP Insecticons, the iGear Conehead Seekers, iGear's Faith Leader, and Perfect Effect Reflector... Also have Delicate Warrior (G1 Arcee) on the way.

I'd recommend any/all of those. I think most of the third party stuff is G1 oriented.

darkknight,

Aside from Impactor iGear showed pics of headsculpts for Pyro, Guzzle, Ironfist and Rotorstom a while back but nothing else has been heard for a while as iGear show off so much stuff they inevitably have trouble juggling their production schedule as they haven't got the resources to have a lot of items being made at any one time.

I think you'll like Warbot, just be a bit careful when transforming the arms for the APC mode as it's quite fiddly the first couple of times round.

I would recommend the following 3rd party products,

iGear = Faith Leader, all the Seekers & Coneheads, Arcee, the Minibots, the Kup heads and the weapons for Kup & Perceptor.

FansProject = City Commander, Protector, Warbot, the Insecticons

TFC = Constructicons/Devastator
( Not cheap but it's the best combiner ever made. Wish my last 2 Constructicons would show up so I can complete the damn thing. )

PerfectEffect = Rumble & Frenzy, Reflector, Rewind & Eject

Others to watch out for are,

MasterMind Collectibles Sixshot
Fans Toys Soundwave with Laserbeak
iGear Impactor, Bumblebee & Cliffjumper

Oh yeah, forgot about the iGear minibots and Kup head set. Very nice.

I can't wait for the FT Soundwave - probably my most wanted MP ever! :)
