Ah well, I think I'm gonna wait for a Takara version anyway. I like TC to have shinier paint apps (I was a big fan of his toy back in the day). I don't like those extra markings, either.

Congrats!

One of the most impressive pieces of the design is how big the robot mode is as the van/ambulance mode is so compact.

I'm also a fan of the transformation as it's one those that's just involved enough to be fun without being overly complex which means I remember it a lot easier :lol

I like the options that all the extras provide, Ironhide's IDW heads are fantastic and his BFG's from the Bayformers incarnation of the character look great as well.

There's also some nice detail on Ratchet's tools and the 2 screwdrivers actually have different heads for different screw types....they probably could have got away with including 2 the same but I like the fact they went to the trouble of making them different.

Considering that iGear are a small company with limited resources I think that PP05 is an incredible achievement in the history of transforming robot toys especially when you look at how poor the official versions of the characters have been.

Yeah, iGear's done a great job with these figures. They really feel solid and well constructed, though admittedly there are a couple of transforming parts that wouldn't be appropriate on a children's Transformer.

I didn't get a chance to use any of the extra heads yet but I plan to. I wish iGear would put out more standalone headsculpts for other figures... That Dr. Wu Wheeljack one (for the TF: Prime figure) was SUCH a disappointment. Do they make all their stuff out of model kit plastic???

I like the new Thundercracker Masterpiece, but I prefer my older Takara version. Think I may sell/trade my new MP TC.

Don't count on a takara version. Word is they made sunstorm instead of Tcraker as the Asia market exclusive.

I don't think it'll be an either/or situation. I don't know how accurate that statement is, but even if it is true for the time being, but it's probably bound to happen sooner or later.

Sunstorm was more than just an Asia market exclusive, wasn't he? Some kind of store or magazine exclusive?

And it's also worth mentioning that Takara doesn't do the Asian market - just Japan. Hasbro does the rest as far as I can tell.

Not sure TBQH. You do have a point in that they might EVENTUALLY get back to him, , though with MP 16-20 already mapped out and scheduled for release in the next 2-3 years, I'd say Tak has their hands fulll.

Hi there, just wondering if anyone would like to share some pics of their Transformers Hard hero collection. I managed to complete the collection and have all the 27 statues/busts released including a few Artists Proofs along the way. Would love to see how your displays were set up. :hi5:

Congrats on the awesome collection :clap:clap

I only have a few & mine are all in storage at the moment pending a house move later this year...so no pics I'm afraid :monkey2

Would love to see your pics though.

I am super jealous :)

Congrats again

The section where you have to manipulate the leg panel that's fixed to that thin armature is a bit scary and the thin panels that hang off the back of the arms probably wouldn't stand up to rough treatment either but at that sort of price the only kids that will get to play them are probably spoiled ones :lol

Insider news about Takara mp-11 Thundercracker and Skywarp.

There are takara employees and insiders on Other transformer boards looking for people to middleman them They Hasbro Toys R us Thundercracker. While they can't confirm this is because Tak has no plans to make one, it's pretty easy to infer that's what it means.

and if Thundercracker is off the table, It makes sense there will be no skywarp either.

THIS MAY CHANGE
if the consumer response to MP-11 Thundercracker stays this positive.

In related news, my bank-account destroying masterpiece sunstorm arrived.

I'll also say this, if it does change, WE WILL NOT SEE A TAKARA SKYWARP OR THUNDERCRACKER BEFORE 2015.

The masterpiece line is crammed full for the next two years.

No big deal if we don't see them though is it really??

We already have the MP-03 mold & to me that's perfectly fine for the line so don't see the need for MP-11 versions

I'd much prefer they focus all their attention on the new figures.

which is what they are doing, hence, 2015 before any more rehashes.

sounds like the next few masterpiece releases are gonna be

Ravage & Rumble

Frenzy & Buzzsaw

Prowl

Jazz

Sunstreaker [unique mold] ( more or less confirmed with a recent licensing announcement, though the leaked plan from takara insiders is to release him near the end of the license)

Breakdown

Megatron

Shockwave

Galvatron

Ultra Magnus ( with armor)

Takara got the Porsche license for Jazz?

Will Breakdown be,

A) A different mold as he's nothing like Sideswipe or Sunstreaker in robot mode.

B) Part of a planned MP Menasor

My understanding is that they still have a license from the alternator line?

Scrap. I said Jazz, Been playing too much Fall of cybertron. I mean Prowl.
There are rumblings of Jazz, but AFIAK, nothing solid yet.

A) No idea

B) NO idea. ( though there are rumblings of a masterpiece combiner being developed, but no news if it's EVER gonna get released)

All this info is burried in the 600+ page Masterpiece megathread over on TFW,and in various other places on the net.
Finding the specific post in question is nigh-impossible. finding all the references people make to Tcracker's comments ( the takara insider) is much easier.

Takara is aware of Sunstreaker's unique mold...so I'd say he will NOT be a repainted Sideswipe, but will get his own mold (as he should)
