Mainline toys have QC issues as well.
Exactly.
I've mentioned my QC nightmare with Hasbro's releases of MP01 a couple times in the past and when I still collected main line stuff I had numerous issues with almost every Animated toy, most Bayformers ( although I never owned many ) and even a couple of issues with stuff from the CHUG lines.
The only issues I've had with 3rd party products are,
Loose headsculpts on some of the iGear Seekers & Coneheads which are fixable with a bit of superglue on the ball joint. Brawn also has a similar problem with the ball joints on his shoulders.
A slightly broken peg on part of the cockpit canopy on iGear Dirge which was annoying but not a major issue.
The occasional flaw in paint apps which happens with official TF's as well.
Missing instruction manual & trading card with one of the first run of TFC's Constructicons.
I tried contacting TFC about possibly being sent some but had no reply. This was annoying but it was easy to find a video review for the transformation so again, no big deal.
On the other hand TFC did acknowledge the QC issues that occurred with Exgravers digger arm and with Heavy Load's hips and included replacement parts either by themselves or with later releases so they aren't totally inept when it comes to customer service.
iGear on the other hand need to step things up a LOT.
They were apparently good with replacing parts from the 1st run of Faith Leader but then they stopped answering e-mails relating to QC issues altogether.
I love what they do especially the PP05 pair & the Mini Warriors but there's always a slight concern that a problem may occur with one of my orders that I won't be able to get sorted.
That said the PP05 pair were absolutely top notch when it came to QC and the Mini Warriors are all very good as well so I think they're on the right track.
