Sideswipe arrived and he's f'ing awesome!

He also looks great with MP Grimlock and iGear's Ironhide & Ratchet.

Other thoughts,

There's been some complaining about the car mode not having rubber tyres and a proper interior but neither are needed IMO especially the car interior which was one of the crappest thing about the Binaltech/Alternators line as they usually compromised the robot mode in some way and most of them had too much kibble for my liking.

Sideswipe is probably as close to the G1 animation model as is possible in robot mode and the Lamborghini license was money well spent as even with the visible panel lines the alt mode is beautiful....real cars beat generic ones every single time and now I've seen it in person I will definitely be getting a second to keep in alt mode.

Paint apps are damn good, there's a couple of panels on the car mode where the red doesn't quite match up but it's not really noticeable unless you specifically look for it.

Transformation is involved but not overly complex....just how I like it.

Articulation is great and they've even added a small tab in the hands for the gun to peg into so it doesn't flop around.

I haven't tried the standard piledrivers yet as they look a bit crap.

I had a nice suprise when I opened the parcel as Kapow Toys also included the Exclusive collector coin and chromed piledrivers which I wasn't expecting so they must have got their stock from Amazon.jp.

It's slightly odd having a Masterpiece Transformer in such a small box but as a high end representation of a G1 character it is virtually perfect which puts it as my joint favorite official TF with MP Grimlock.

Seeing Faith Leader and MP-10 back to back posts really show how "outdated" the original MP Convoy is. Can't wait to get MP Sideswipe in next week. I had no intention of even getting him but after that one YouTube review, I bought one immediately.

If being "outdated" means less exaggerated proportions and no monkey arms then I'll stick with the downsized KO of the "outdated" version every time.

MP10 sucks almost as much as the average Bayformer or Prime toy.

Yeah, I totally don't agree that MP-01 is outdated. It's just a different approach to Prime--less exaggerated and dynamic, but he looks sturdier (from a physical and personality POV). Both have pros and cons.

No ones twisting your arm and I'm not gonna force my opinion on you, but you really need some fresh air, guy. It's really not that serious.

After fiddling with MP-10, I have to say that in terms of construction, MP-01 is outdated. I rearranged my stuff this morning and I never noticed how clunky he really is until I got the MP-10 today. I still absolutely love MP-01, but he's very much a straight up display piece in comparison. And honestly, in-hand there's really no proportion issues to speak of with MP-10. If anything, he's light years ahead of MP-01 in that regard.

Sideswipe looks fantastic! Seriously can't wait to get my hands on this guy. Got him in a stack at TFsource so I gotta wait a little bit.

Exactly my point. PP01 was clunky and so fragile that I sold mine after a couple of weeks. MP-01 Convoy is still the one true Masterpiece in my opinion and I've kept mine in the same pose since I got him 8 years ago and that won't change, but MP-10 is what I would call the most defining G1 Prime figure put out.

You can tell those who hate just to hate, but to be one of the people who's owned both, I don't care how many pro's/con's there are to each, when its all said and done, its not even close how MP-10 craps all over PP01.

Agreed. When MP10 was announced, I said "why?" as I thought MP01 was perfection. But wow...MP10 is all kinds of amazing. So much so, I was completely satisfied with it being my only TF in my collection and have sold off everything else with just a few stragglers stayng behind (out of lack of motivation to sell).

As for MP Sideswipe...its a very nice toy but I can't believe they have labelled it a MP. They should be in a line called Alternators 2.0 or something.

Well I also own both, and like both, but prefer MP-01 (or more specifically, Faith Leader). He's the one that stays on display with my other figures. MP-10 is more exaggerated/dynamic and doesn't feel like the "oak" of leadership that I imagine Prime to be. Blockiness in a Transformer isn't necessarily a bad thing IMO. MP-10 most definitely wins in the poseability department, though, and that's one of the things I like best about it.

Er, I was being sarcastic.

Your preference of Optimus Prime really doesn't mean a thing to me.

So feel free to continue acting like some kind of elitist who thinks everything new is automatically better than what went before.

I only need one Prime in my collection and I'm certainly not paying a minimum of £200 ( approx $322 ) for something that has a trailer I'd never take from the box and a robot I consider to be an inferior design compared to what I already have.

Allthough i like both of the Prime MP's,MP10 is easier to handle and pose.MP01 is very heavy and is always tipping a bit forward.

For Hercules owners,is this a problem for herc too?Heavy die cast parts.Judging by reviews on youtube it seems to be.

There's no diecast on Herc and a good thing too as it adds nothing to a figure except balancing issues and an increased risk of paint chipping.

I think with Hercules it is just mass. The legs aren't designed to weigh more than the rest of him, and have to prop up 4 other TFs. So, he's necessarily top-heavy.
