He was cool too. But he didn't get enough screen time and when he was killed off, it was like no one really cared.

Again, poor writing and development. When Coulson died in the Avengers, there was a turning point with the other characters and the fans (like myself) were in an uproar. He was a secondary character that was very likeable which is how Ironhide should have been.

I would love to see that. He appears, causes Prime's death somehow, then Prime is resurrected, returns, and rips Hot-Rod's head off as revenge. I'm assuming Prime will still be an unrepentant murdering psychopath in this new movie.

I see what you're saying now by I still don't agree. But that's more than likely due to the fact that, despite their flaws, I still liked the movies. I cared about the characters. Not saying the writing was great b/c I know it wasn't (especially in ROTF) but I still cared about the characters.

To each his own. I'm sure you're not the only one... Heck, even I cared a LITTLE (I mean, he had been around since the first movie, after all... and I have fond memories of G1 Ironhide, which helped), but I still think the characters could and should have been written better.

... I just know that to me, for multimillion doar movie, G1 designs are visually uninteresting.

I just don't want my views on G1 designed movies to be misinterpreted as me hating on G1, which is usually what ppl think when I try to discuss this topic of the movies

But how can you come to that conclusion without even seeing them? All it takes is a good design team, the right special effects and a director who can showcase them properly. Add in good writing and they'd totally work.

He's made the franchise plenty of money which is the main objective but in doing so he's taken expectations for a Transformers movie to an all time low.

Nobody but the biggest apologist expects another Bayformers movie to be anything but poor yet some people still seem willing to hand their cash over even though they're secure in the knowledge it'll suck

Dosn't make it good. I've also detailed my belief in the reasons for this in another thread.

Can't say I am at all surprised we're getting more. Perhaps this time He'll have optimus run around the entire movie pointing at things and saying "pew pew" with Peter Cullen's voice, and then those things explode for no apparent reason. Then He'll punch a building and 40 million women will fly out of it wearing noting but Lingerie.

I mean, it's not like we go to these movies for any sort of story. just 1/2 naked girls, explosions, and if we are really REALLY lucky, we might see shattered glass prime punch something. But likely, it will all happen off-screan, while Marky Mark tries in vain to get a date with generic hot female lead with no acting talent, then gets "peed" on by bumblebee, with the racial sterotype character # 3 voiced by Will smith says " Oh HEEEEEELL NO!" in the background, and his buddies call it "wack"

And transformers fans will eat it up with a knife and spoon in fear that if they don't their beloved franchise will fade into obscurity.


Oh, and Transformers Prime will get canceled, taking the toys off the shelves, and hasbro will skip doing an american release of Lambor,for fear that it might compete with the lacktacular toys for the latest film. and MP soundwave for the same reason, as well as kids not knowing what a Walkman is.


Oh, i can't wait. yay.

Though, I'm certain it's also due in-part to the rise of the dudebros.

Gears is freakin' amazing.

Beachcomber is the wrong shade of blue to be entirely G1 accurate but still looks very nice with all the silver. I haven't a clue what the flower is doing stuck in the end of his gun but I'm guessing it's a reference to a cartoon episode.

Swerve looks like it's got enough changes from Gears to make it worthwhile buying....the Tommy gun is a nice touch.

Outback is puzzling because the tiny change made to the vehicle mode doesn't really do much for it whereas redoing the chest piece would have made the robot mode more G1 accurate.

So I'll definitely get Gears & Swerve, will wait and see if they do a variant Beachcomber with a G1 accurate shade of blue and will pass on Outback.

I love 'em all, though I also wish Beachcomber had a deeper blue... If I could be reasonably certain this was it for the character, I'd get it for sure, but after they reissued Rager in toy colours, I'm thinking about waiting as well... We'll see.

By the time you realize Takara won't ever be able to do all the Season 1/2 characters in MP form, and will have passed up on the vanbots because they're "boring" compared to Lamborghinis, Fairlady Zs, Ultra Magnus, Galvatron, Shockwave, Dinobots, a new Megatron, Thundercracker and Skywarp (there's 3-4 years worth of MPs right there), these will be fetching a lot of money on Ebay.

Just like the Conehead Seekers...

Honestly, I think iGear's our best chance for an MP-style Trailbreaker and Hoist, for the reasons I've given above. Just not sexy enough for MP treatment.
