My Junkion Blacksmith Devy upgrade set came in yesterday, looks good.

I have a question for those who bought MP12 Sideswipe, now is he really worth the price?, any diecast on this figure at all?.

Nice pics soundwave! Congrats!

Do it!

The money you'll raise will help pay for more Masterpieces & 3rd party stuff!

Yeah, maybe. Looking at them now on my shelf though, they still look really nice... and more or less complete. Who knows if we'll get that with the MPs, even with third parties filling in gaps.

I was in my local TRU yesterday and happened to notice FoC Jazz and Optimus Prime on the pegs....I shook my head and quickly moved on to the Star Wars aisle :lol

Yeah, that's not really the kind of CHUGs I mean, though. The only ones I get are the distinctly G1 ones. Well, okay I picked up the ones from WFC too, for real cheap, after I played (and loved) the game.

Well, on a page 1621 there is my review of MP 12, but the short answer would be; IMO, yes he is. There are no diecast and personally I think it is a good thing.

Agreed.

All diecast adds to any Transformer are balancing issues and an increased risk of paint chipping.

I can do without that :)

DPrime,
A fair point but if you include 3rd party stuff with Masterpieces G1 is very well covered,

* rumored by a reliable source

Autobots

Optimus Prime
Ironhide
Ratchet
Grimlock
Sideswipe
Sunstreaker *
Prowl *
Bluestreak *
Huffer
Brawn
Gears

Decepticons

Seekers
Soundwave & tapes
Constructicons/Devastator
Insecticons
Megatron V2 *
Shockwave *

That's just the early series.

From later series we know the following are either out or are being released,

Ultra Magnus *
Smokescreen*
Red Alert
Springer
Arcee
Seaspray
Cosmos
Swerve
Outback
Beachcomber
Powerglide
Rollbar

Galvatron*
Coneheads
Sixshot ( was in one episode of G1 )

From the comics,
Impactor
Broadside
Topspin
Twin Twist
Roadbuster ( FP have hinted at one in the comic that comes with Broadside )

More Autobot cars would be the major thing I'd like to see....and 4 more Dinobots.

Allmost completely agree about the Diecast.

there is this misconception about diecast about how it ads quality to a toy. It doesn't. it adds weight. people think it makes them more valuble, becuase they weigh more. there is some silly idea that if something is heavy, it's becuase it's full of value or something.

that's NOT to say that diecast has no place in toys. It does, IF used properly.

and how does one use it properly?

But it inside the feet. Not make the feet out of diecast, PUT IT INSIDE where we will never see it. why? this greatly HELPS making the figure balance.

So why did they use diecast originally? In my opinion, IOt's because it was easier to get fine details in the metal, than it was in early plastic molding. this allowed the earlirier transformers to have more detailed vehicle modes. Modern plastic molding is much more advanced, and can put tremendous details into plastic.

We
Don't
Need
It
Any
More

I will dance a jig if takara NEVER uses diecast on a Masterpiece figure again.

I don't think the recent sunstreaker, Thundercraker, or Starscream have any diecast either, to be quite honest.

No more paint chips, no more shelf dives.

After a couple of weeks of Photobucket messing around mine is finally working again, so I can finally post some pics of MP-10.

I really wasn't sure about this guy when he was first announced, but I think that was mainly because there were so many other characters I wanted, rather than retreading old ground. Once it became apparent it was the start of trying to make MP's in scale I decided to bite the bullet, and I'm really glad I did. MP-10 is a great figure. Is it my Fave Prime? I'm not sure, but it is right up there.

The vehicle mode is fantastic and a huge improvement on MP 1

The Robot mode has a more comic asthetic than MP -1 but I actually really like it.

Again the best thing is having in scale bot modes.

Now I can't wait for MP Soundwave to turn up and am just praying that MP Sunstreaker, Prowl and a Megatron Version 2 happen.

lerath666,
Nicely put!

Diecast can work if used correctly as it was with the Hybrid Style Convoy ( in the feet ) but including it doesn't instantly mean it'll make the toy better every single time.

Silent Bob,
Nice pics!

I'm really looking forward to Soundwave too, but I think I'm even more excited for the tapes especially Ravage as I never got round to getting the Device Label one when it was still available for a decent price and thought the one with Henkei Hound sucked.

Cheers mate !!! I love my Prime shelf and MP 10 has certainly added to it.

I can't recommend the Igear Vans enough. They are easily the BEST version of these guys made and i really don't know if an official version would imporove on them. Add to that the fact the van alt modes might not be "sexy" enough for a Takara bother with an official release I'd say pick at least one of them up if you can. Although I prefer Ratchet as a character I think the Ironhide figure really does shine !!

Thanks bro !!! I have been shocked how much I like the MP 10 fig. I know you aren't a fan but if it ever makes it to the UK I'd recommend it highly. Especially as it'll be in proper scale with the seekers, soundwave and hopefully a new Megs.

Soundwave looks all kinds of awesome, but like you it is Ravage and Lazerbeak and Buzzsaw that are really exciting me. The design of these guys is just blowing me away !!! I have a second MP Swipe on the way, along with Soundwave (Both as Birthday / X-mass pressies) and I'm trying to resist picking up Red Alert now.

The direction the MP line (along with third party figs) has made me more excited about upcoming TF releases than I have ever been!

Nice pics and setup yo! Hey was it you who were looking for a MP sideswipe coin not too long ago? I promised someone here one and cannot remember who...

MP10 isn't in scale with Grimlock though....which is a major contributing factor to why I consider it an easy pass.

When I saw the first pics I thought the Laserbeak/Buzzsaw mold was the best one but all 3 MP cassette molds are top notch which bodes well for Ratbat & the 2 dinos if Takara make them.

Alright, time for the first CHUG unload. This is what I'm looking to get rid of:

Henkei Prime, opened, minty condition but a BIT of paint wear, complete but no instructions or packaging - $50
Henkei Red Alert, mint, complete w/packaging - $115.00
Henkei Smokescreen, ditto - $115
Henkei Mirage, ditto - $115
Henkei Inferno, ditto - $115
Henkei Rodimus, ditto - $40

United Bumblebee w/Beelzeboss head upgrade, mint/complete w/packaging - $85
United Tracks ditto $65
United Grapple ditto $65
United Windcharger & Wipeout set ditto $50

Generations Kup w/iGear head set $? (no packaging for Kup)
Generations Blurr $15 (no packaging)
iGear Delicate Warrior (Arcee), mint/complete w/packaging $130
FP Warbot Defender mint/complete w/packaging $150
FB City Commander (2nd version w/G1 add-ons) - SHOULD have the packaging soon - $125 (no Magnus)

So yeah, I'm keeping my Season 1 guys... for now.

Kind of sad to see these go, but we recently had some major problems with plumbing... looks like we'll have to rip up a LOT of stuff in the basement and, well, we could use the money. :)

I'll put this stuff in my sales thread but I figured I'd post this here first. Hope I'm not breaking any rules... I didn't include shipping, but I'm open to wheeling and dealing.

Now that I think of it I might get rid of my Club Runabout and Runamuck... hmm...

what size is the mp10 in relation to the mp5? and can we please get a masterpiece Galvatron!!

I don't know the exact measurements, but MP10 is considerably shorter than MP05.

MP Galvatron is currently rumored to be released after MP Prowl, possibly next year.

DPrime,
Best of luck with the sales!

I got a message from Kapow Toys today confirming shipment of Warbot Assaulter so I'll have another Wrecker waiting for me when I get home on Friday! :yess:

I thought about it as TFC's Hercules is an amazing achievement for a small company but decided against it because,

1.Devastator is the only combiner I have any nostalgia for.

2.The scale of each Aerialbot won't fit in with my display....the smallest jets I have are Masterpiece size.

If those things aren't a problem then I think it'll well worth the money.
