will wait for all 6 releases before purchase or at least see combined pics! but im sure hes in scale with herc when combined so no problem there!

just hope MP red alert turns up before xmas! and im sure we'll get a v.3 hot rod at somepoint! smaller in height with improvement where neccessary ala MP3/11 starscream! my MP thundercracker much better than my walmart MP screamer-feet and kibble issues solved!

MP roddy was a bit of nightmare for most owners with one problem or another but i wont list them!

If anyone feels like upgrading their ROTF/DOTM Leader Prime with movie accurate Blasters that replace the tanks, TFSource Finally has them up for PO available in Chrome, Dark Silver, Silver and Regular grey plastic:

I expect TFC's Superion to be in scale with Herc, which will probably be fine for most people, I put myself out of the game when I got OCD about scale :lol

MP Sideswipe was released on time so unless there's an announcement saying otherwise Alert should ship in December :yess:

Don't you mean a V2 Hot Rod? I know there was a second production run with a couple of minor fixes but it was essentially the same release.

A new Hot Rod mold that was in scale with everything from MP10 onwards would be intresting to see especially as it seems Galvatron and Ultra Magnus are on the way.

That said he'd be way down my list of Autobots that I want to see in the forseeable future as the series 1 & 2 cast are my priority.

Hot Rod is my favorite TF so if they made him in scale, before his transformation to Rodimus I would be extremely happy.

Either way, the new MP line is just RAD! Keep 'em coming!

:clap:clap

@corsair-anything season 1 or '86 movie onwards MP related i want! so galv and magnus i cant wait for personally! i know that film word for word literally haha! got rid of the last of my original g1 TF's a few months back that ive owned since original release in 85/6and galv was one of them so all i own/buy now are MP's and 3rd party apart from the amazon unicron.

I've got the '86 movie on DVD but need to get the 4 series as aside from a couple of episodes that were unlockable on one of the recent videogames I've not seen any of the cartoon since I was a kid.

Galvatron is one of those characters who's never had a decent toy in the modern era so if Takara can do as good a job as they have done with MP Grimlock and MP11-16 then it should look awesome.

A Takara designer has been quoted as being a fan of FP's City Commander which I think would be good starting point for designing the armor/trailer for a Masterpiece Ultra Magnus but I think there's room for improvement eg,

1.More G1 accuracy instead of being redesigned.
( FP went the Classicsverse route which was fine at the time but it's aged badly. )

2.Better poseability.
( City Commander's is restricted by the bulk of the armor. )

3.The alt mode is able to carry cars properly.
( MP12 can fit in MP10's trailer so a new Ultra Magnus should have the same feature. )

DPrime,
Best of luck with the sales!

Thanks, got a few bites already. :)

1.Devastator is the only combiner I have any nostalgia for.

2.The scale of each Aerialbot won't fit in with my display....the smallest jets I have are Masterpiece size.

If those things aren't a problem then I think it'll well worth the money.

Pretty much where I sit, especially the first part.

I'm not too fussed about scale when it comes to robot modes, but Devastator is pretty much THE combiner as far as I'm concerned. If you only need one, he's the one to have. I'm not sure I need several.

iGear's latest Mini Warriors are up for pre-order,

I think it sucks that you have to buy them in sets as I don't want Outback and am unsure about Beachcomber as a repaint with a G1 accurate shade of blue is more likely.

Saw that today once I got home...ordering all 4 for me.

They all look awesome & at about £100 for the set not too shabby.

would u say those those igear minis fit in with the MP scale? i.e not TOO small!? i know there meant to be 'mini' warriors but would of liked them in the sideswipe scale for example!

i do remember reading somewhere ages ago that because galvatron is basically a (and the first) TF 'round' figure in terms of contours that he would be hard to make cartoon accurate and transform!

i do understand what they mean by round whoever said it? in the cartoon his helmet is rounded off same as his thighs and arms-hes not a square blocky TF in the cartoon but his toy had square boxxy arms and legs!

corsair- i got the complete g1 boxset from amazon for £40 that comes with the crappy 2 disc movie re issue so look around for a good deal on that! all about the blu ray though for the 86 movie-not perfect itself but obviously the best version of the film!

They do indeed scale well.

This here is actually Corsairs pic from a few pages back of Hench with MP Sideswipe...

Yeah the BD version of TF: Animated movie is ok, I still think it's a bit of a let down though.

I actually prefer my US 20th Anniversary edition over the BD...just something about the BD is off, it doesn't look like you'd expect.

farrs,
Thanks for the advice on the G1 cartoon DVD's, I'll add them to my Christmas list.

Galvatron's shape could make a Masterpiece trickier but when you look at how the guns have been incorporated into the Masterpiece Laserbeak/Buzzsaw transformation then I think Takara can probably work it out....they seem to be on fire now and long may it continue.

As my pic shows the most recent Mini Warriors are perfectly scaled with the newer Masterpieces, iGear must be using the same scale chart ( the one from the original cartoon ) as Takara.

soundwave,
If Gears & Swerve don't become available seperately I may end up getting both sets once I've got Christmas out of the way as I can always resell Outback & Beachcomber.

I got home from a short break yesterday and had Warbot Assaulter waiting for me. I've not tried the alt modes yet but the 2 different options for robot modes are both decent, his scale is excellent in comparison with my other Wreckers and I'm now even more eager for iGear's Impactor and Mech Ideas Topspin & Twin Twist set.

One slight issue with Assaulter is caused by the presence of diecast.

The ball jointed feet work well but the diecast legs tend to make Assaulter lean forward a bit and it can be a bit tricky getting him to stand in a natural looking pose as the hip joints are also VERY tight.

A cool extra is a set of tiny recreations of the following,

Warbot Defender ( APC and helicopter modes )

Warbot Steelcore ( Truck mode & a trailer )

2 motorbikes which look like the concept art they showed years ago for their take on Junkions

1 jeep that's a dead ringer for Roadbuster's alt mode

1 dune buggy that could be Sandstorm

These are designed to fit on Assaulter's carrier mode to make the scale discrepancy work better.

I really hope they make Sandstorm as he was the only Triple Changer I had as a kid and he's another Wrecker from the Marvel era.

Here's a small interview with one of the designers of MP12,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=LEAWYXVU2DI

What a great job he has.

I sold my iGear Traitor during the week to make way for MP11 which I'll be ordering in the next week....I won't be without a Starscream for long!

Im looking for a Takara Grimlock MP-08 for a fair price,if anyone is looking to get rid of theirs,MIB or loose, please PM me.

Im late to the party so i would have to pay more than im willing to give for the older MP's.

Thanks :)
