I always wanted to get a second one. Grimlock's robot and dinosaur modes are too cool to not display at the same time.

Finally picked up a Hasbro MP-10 through Toys R Us. Used a gift card to knock the price down some more. I can't believe how much better he is than the Takara one, which I am now going to sell.

The little details like the blue eyes and the painted lights on top of the cab really make him pop. The Takara one kind of looks lifeless by comparison.

I think I'll like it, I don't mind Skywarp & Thundercracker looking a bit more generic but Starscream should really stand out.

Traitor is nicely made but even with Decepticon logos on looks like "just another" Seeker instead of the Decepticon Air Commander.

You should be able to get a Hasbro version for less than that. Neither version is really any better than the other. Just some minor differences.

I believe the main difference is that the Hasbro version comes with a golden crown, whereas the Takara one comes with... a serving tray or something?

Donno. we MIGHT. we might not. Hasbro is adverse to putting out G1 style soundwaves at retail. they don't think they will sell.

I"m not taking any chances. I'm getting the Takara one .

My fear for Soundwave is that it won't have the right shade of blue. I know it sounds silly, but I'm a sucker for a good shade of blue, and MP Soundwave's shades is one of it's major selling points. It's a bit expensive at the current cost, but hell if I'm not severely tempted to go for it.

Been on a bit of a bender lately and finally got some of the figures I've been hunting for, like:
PRID Vehicon
PRID Wheeljack
Classics Jazz (for 8 bucks no less!)
HFTD Terradive
HFTD Hubcap
DOTM Guzzle
DOTM HA Basic Whirl and Thunderhead

Very happy with all of them. The Vehicon is one of the best deluxes I've ever seen. Simple, but elegant.
Wheeljack is a bit less good, but still pretty solid, and it was about time I got a stand in for Wheeljack on my shelf (honestly I don't really like the look of the Classics version).
With Jazz, I got extremely lucky. 8 bucks at a small store. Severely limited, I think each establishment only got 2 in. Really glad I managed to get my hands on him, aside from the doorwings he's pretty much the definite Jazz figure.
Terradive is one I should have picked up a while ago. I have fond memories of the Cyberjets, and he is pretty much the perfection of that basic deisgn. And I'm lucky enough to get one that has tight hip joints, avoiding one of the major QC problems with this mold.
Hubcap I got along with Terradive, and really, I only went for him because I like his design and the altmode is something different. But having him in hand...Dunno, he kind of leaves me cold. Real shame because he looked damn good in photos.
Guzzle really surprised me with how much I liked him. I don't like any of the other Cyberverse toys, but he really surprised me with how well designed he is. And how many detail he has packed into him. I really didn't expect him to become one of my favorites.
The basics I just got because they're solid toys and because Sandstorm was feeling lonely. Still, I really like them.

Assuming they even bother releasing one Hasbro's MP Soundwave will likely have a different shade of blue and yellow eyes to be more like the G1 toy.

I don't mind the yellow eyes. I think I prefer it to the red as is anyways. (wish it had a visor changing gimmick like Grimlock for that same reason) I'm mostly worried about the blue. They tend to go for toy accuracy, which is a good thing, but I really can't see them doing the same gorgeous blue as Takara did on theirs.

OH DEAR!!!! Soundwave just looks immense...I cannot wait to get him!!

Speaking of Soundwave...I spent another 3 hours in the Tattoo chair on Friday getting my version of him started...

The pictures aren't the best so will try to get some more this week.

It hurt like an absolute ***** in places, so much pain but the end result has been worth it.

We reckon that one more sitting should see him finished & some more background details done as well.

Man that Soundwave looks good. Can't wait to get one. Though should I get two of them just in case. I haven't really bought any duplicates what comes to MP-toys, though I preordered MP10 Black Convoy. Since that V2 Megatron is almost certainly coming, I should save money for that and other forthcoming MP-class toys.

Best get on him soon if ya want to lock him in for retail, I can see him going for more than Takara MP10 in a little over a years time,although we will probably see a Hasbro version by then. Yes. I believe it was $219-$229 plus shipping. Takaras version will sell out and aftermarket prices will kick in. With the popularity of the character he will eventually be going for $225-$250 easily IMO. Just look at MP Grimlock, which I still need to get!
