I was like that for a long time... and to be quite honest, when I finally decided to sit down and watch the whole thing, it was a bit difficult getting through the first several episodes. Once you're into Season 2 and 3, though, you don't want it to end. :)

Thanks for the advice on the sticker sets, I'll check them out.

Not getting that new Megatron. He's just about perfect but I don't really want that Prime hand he's got. I guess I'll have to be happy with the RiD version...

Yea I will admit that I do catch myself watching the reruns of Animated on The Hub when there isn't anything else on :lol some episodes are pretty ok but others I'll just listen to while in the kitchen or something. Something that shocked me was I read a post from fan on TFSource's FB page I think and they said animated was better voiced and better overall cartoon in animation and story than G1! Idk could be my not liking animated all that much but I just can't comprehend that! :lol

And yea that Darkest Megatron looks great except for the right forearm/hand and he doesn't come with the arm cannon either I don't think which is another draw back. I've started learnig how to repaint transformers so I may be able to fix up PRID Meg's to my liking a bit more

Indeed. If I see "patorol" on my Prowl I'll flip!!! :gah:

That's already been fixed,

The Exclusives are something I'll perhaps pick up seperately on ebay.

Well... Sunbow's G1 series has a place in my heart for sure, but I gotta agree that Animated's writing is much, much better. I mean, the story actually GOES somewhere, and its characters were treated very well.

The animation style takes some getting used to but it's not as sloppy as G1 could get, nor is it plagued with errors and a very loose interpretation of scale, heh. But who knows what G1 could have been if produced today?

I will agree that the voices in G1 are pretty hard to beat, though. :)

Oh good. Yeah, I don't think it'll be hard picking up those pieces, either.

I kind of want to get the coins for MP-10, 12-14. I think I have/will be getting them for the other MPs already.

Well guess it's my disliking for animated then :lol I can't see it. Optimus is so small compared to Megatron and Megatron seems to just disregard him as no one particularly important, respected or even a partial threat from the episodes I've watched.

But that's immaterial to the point.

Those differences serve to CREATE drama, which in turn made the stories much richer and more interesting than just about anything in G1 (until the movie, at least - though there was some good writing here and there in the series, too).

A flawed hero and/or one with real challenges to face is usually more interesting than the alternative.

Regarding quackwave/shockwave, do you guys think takara will eventually release their own version? They haven't even made a g1 reissue of this guy to begin with, as I think there's licensing issues.
To pull the trigger or not...

I guess I can see that to some degree as it's somewhat similar to Beast Wars where the predacons seemed to have more resources than the maximals and Optimus was smaller than Megatron in BW but it just doesn't work for me in Animated. There are too many things that I don't like about it visually and with the characters that I can't even enjoy what story is there. There are some good episodes I will agree to that though and enjoy From time to time on the Hub. It's just not a series I will see myself buying the DVDs for

that's one of the things I like about some of the comics, as well as animated. That is, having the decepticons, as a whole, bigger tha the Autobots.

The decepticons, for the most part, are former menial labor bots, and gladiators. This necessitated them to have larger forms.

not 100% of the time, but most of the tiem.

So, anyone getting the TFC aerialbots?

I'm getting tempted.

The coins are oddly addictive.

I got my first ones with MP12 & MP13 as Kapow managed to get some with their stock and I've since bought the ones for MP11, MP14 & MP15.

I like the way they're packaged as much as the actual coins, Soundwave's is my favorite so far.

Yeah, I dunno too... I'm tempted, but I could actually see it happening.

Licensing isn't an issue. Hasbro and Takara have released several Shockwaves over the past several years - they all "look" like the original toy and character (sort of like a third party, heh), but they're obviously different enough from the original toy design that there's no issue.

I read somewhere that as long as something's a certain percentage different from an existing product, it's fine. Apparently, even iGear's seekers can make this cut... arguably, I suppose, but still. They don't have to be that different.

Given the size, extra articulation, the sharing of no G1 parts whatsoever, etc. - Takara could definitely release an MP Shockwave if they wanted.

Whether they want to or not - that's the real question... and it's been something that's been bothering me for a while now, too. He SEEMS iconic enough... but is he, from their perspective? Does he have repaint potential?

I hear ya on that. I'm waiting for it to show up on Netflix, personally. I watched it over Youtube but it's not the best quality...

I do like it in the comics. It has a grander, more epic and important feeling in the comics to me though. I don't get the same feeling with Animated.

YouTube aye? If season 2 and 3 are where it's at I may have that going on my other monitor while working instead of a movie like I normally do :lol

I can see that. it would work if they played it up a bit more in some of the cartoons I think.

With prime likely winding down, I'm wondering what the future holds for the next iteration of cartoons.

DPrime,
Intresting point on Shockwave. If we look at the most likely large scale Decepticons to be made next the potential for repaints is at best minimal,

Megatron V2
Galvatron
Shockwave

That's 3 unique, large scale molds....which wouldn't be cheap.

So they'd have to be spread out over a lengthy period of time in between more easy repaints/retools to help offset the costs.

I think Shockwave will happen, but I don't think it'll be for a long time as Megatron and his reformatted form will be considered a higher priority....if Ultra Magnus is one of the large scale releases for next year I'd put money on Galvatron being one of the others.

hypothetical.

V2 megatron turns out to be G2 megatron ( odds are already that this IS NOT THE CASE, but I digress)

Who would still buy?

Oh God no! :lol

But if it was a North American exclusive MP, I'll bite.

Lerath, thanks for the heads up on Infiltration. My brother lent me that, Stormbringer, and Escalation. I'm going on a road trip this weekend so I'll probably bring those along.

On a related note, I stopped by my LCS this afternoon to pick up Action Comics #18. In my curosity, I looked over MTMTE #15.

BIG. *****ing. MISTAKE. :nono :slap

Damn man. I really wish I hadn't. :monkey2

Epic issue though.
