I don't really mind the movies that much... there are a lot of cringe-worthy moments (many dealing with Sam and the other human characters rather than the robots), but I like Prime and even Bumblebee and the movies themselves are rather entertaining... on a certain level.
That said, I sometimes feel physically ill when I look at most of the Bayformers designs. I really do. They - literally - make me want to barf, sometimes. Not all of them (Prime is a notable exception, but he's not the only one), but many.
I absolutely loved TF Animated and (so far) TF Prime. And of course Beast Wars was amazing.
I couldn't get into the Japanese import anime shows, like RiD and the Unicron trilogy stuff. The shows just seemed awful whenever I tried watching them. Some of the designs were really nice, though.
I agree with how you feel about the movies. I'm in no way saying they're great when I say I like them. I'll will admit that I can't sit through the entire movie of any of them really anymore, except maybe the first one on a good day. But I do like them or like you said, I don't mind them. I like the visuals and the transformations and all the robot moments for the most part except BB peeing on Simmons.
For TF Animated, I just couldn't get into it. Too anime looking/feeling to me and I didn't like the voices all that much either. The toys were great though. I had a few including the Voyager Prime variant but sold them b/c I didn't like the show.

They're really cool and I feel for alot of them, they add that much need extra oomph. I think I spent about $180 my first time ordering

They said that they're working on PRID Arcee set and a Beast Hunters Smokescreen set that might be available in April's update. I definitely recommend BH Smokescreen when you have the chance to get him. Fun figure for sure and you can take off the stupid BH accessories so you can display him like he is in the series.
