Hey guys,

Little advice please.

I'm thinking about taking the plunge on something not MP & not your major characters & just wondering what I should get.

I have a short list of...

Fansproject Intimidator figure (Car Crash / T Bone / Down Force / Last Chance)
Fansproject Function X Figure (Quadruple U / Smart Robin)
Toyworld Hardbone

Not really set on anything just fancy something a little bit different to the norm at the mo.

So what would you go for?

Ta muchly

Neil

Toyworld's Hardbone would be my choice.

Ive havent seen any of these yet Neil, but a quick game of Eeny, meeny, miny, moe suggested u you pick Fansproject Intimidator figure (Car Crash / T Bone / Down Force / Last Chance) Hope this helps :nana:

Ugh, have you guys seen the new proto pics of iGear's Cliffjumper, Bumblebee, Powerglide and Wheelie? What the heck happened to iGear?

All the headsculpts are pretty weak. Bumblebee's head is probably the worst but Powerglide overall I think is my least favourite figure. I'm glad I got the XTransbots version. Not MP quality but at least he's G1 accurate.

It's pretty sad when Wheelie is the best one out of a group like that! I'm not sure how interested I am in him, though, given the character, but I might pick one up to go with Grimlock. I suppose Cliffjumper is okay, but I still think he needs a bit of improvement.

I'll tell you one thing - if the other two aren't changed drastically and iGear pulls that BS about having to buy two in order to get one, I won't be ordering any of them. So far, I'm very disappointed in what seemed like a really great third party company at one point, especially in terms of headsculpts... :(

(They're on Facebook, in case you're wondering. I would post the pics here but I'm at work and we have to use a horribly old version of IE that makes everything like that a pain...)

Yea the iGear Bumblebee and Cliffjumper don't look good at all to me which is really unfortunate. Really hope they go back and make some much needed changes

However that IDW Optimus Prime (toyworld?) looks awesome! :rock

I think they're kinda cool as exaggerated versions of these guys, and I like the transformation decisions, but. . .I'm not interested either. They really should have went for a toon accurate look if they wanted to maximize collector interest. Maybe Has/Tak is breathing down their neck so they felt like they had to make changes from the cartoon?

Or maybe they lost one of their designers?

The face sculpts in particular are a far cry from their Generations Kup head set, Specialists, or even the other Mini Warriors. I hope they can do better because I'm not at all confident that we'll ever get an MP Cliffjumper or Bumblebee.

The alt modes are very toon accurate, which I'm not sure we'd get with official MP versions of these guys... Well, here's hoping I guess.

Bumbebee's headsculpt could be better but it's not going to put me off buying it and I think Cliffjumper looks awesome.

Wheelie and Powerglide aren't particularly great but I wouldn't say they were awful either and they weren't on my buy list anyway so no big deal.

I'm surprised. I would have thought Bumblebee's face was worse than the ol' "monkey arms". ;)

This going to sound weird, but... the crotch looks off, too.

The face looks bloated but there's always the possibility of another 3rd party making a new headsculpt, iGear may even change it themselves if enough people let them know the present one sucks.

I think the overall proportions are OK especially the alt modes as they're in keeping with the originals.

Do I think Takara could do better?

Probably.

But the chances of official MP Minibots are minimal so iGear's will do.

Finally had a look at the Prototype Mini Warriors last night thanks to wifey's FB account.

I actually don't mind Cliff & Bee that much, they both look pretty reasonable in both modes (although Alt Mode is teh win!!)

I reckon I'll have them both, no MP display is really complete without a Bee in it & Cliff was just the daddy in my eye's so he's a must irregardless, love the mega cannon he gets as well ;) lol

Look forward to the final colour shots when they release them

Cliffjumper is definitely the nicer looking of the two in robot mode but both alt modes are great and if the Bumblebee headsculpt gets improved by the time it's released several months from now then I don't think there'll be much to choose between the two.

When Brawn's proto was first shown it got blasted on sites like TFW for missing a point of articulation on the arms and iGear took the criticism on board and changed it so they may do likewise for Bumblebee's head.

Well, I'm passing him up :lol Massive, unwieldy *******. Plus, I don't remember him from the cartoon. Looks pretty neat though, and I can definitely understand the draw.
