Lol yep it's barely very far away from the CD Player or repeat on the iPod ;)
I just love everything about it, fitted the film perfectly, nothing could have tied in better with what was happening on screen at that moment then the music they used in the film, it just epitomizes everything that was great about movies & OST's in the 80's

Shame every soundtrack since the first Turtles Movie in 1990 has just been rubbish...80's movies had the best Soundtracks ever!!!

Neil

That'd work for me!

One thing on Masterpiece Hound that Takara would really have to outdo themselves on is the headsculpt.

The one on the Classics/Henkei toy was so close to the animation model that I'd be fine if it was resized for the Masterpiece.

Going back to Mirage it'll be nice to finally own a version of the character if the Masterpiece happens as I never had the original and I disliked the pin head and anorexic aesthetic of the robot mode on the CHUG version.

soundwave,
Yeah, there were some great tracks in 80's movies, the Rocky series in particular was just as memorable for the music as the action.

I got the Takara versions of some of the FE toys, but I'm not sure the later ones, like Shockwave, are "better enough" for me, I guess.

But I'm in a similar boat, otherwise. I will be satisfied, I think, by Shockwave, Smokescreen and Ultra Magnus (though I'd still like to get Skyquake for a decent price or trade), and will PROBABLY have to get that big Predaking too... but I probably don't need the other new beastformers or the new versions of old characters.

Maybe the new Prime if I can get a good price, since he's like that on the show now. We'll see.

Yeah, I remember you mentioning that a while ago. Still, interesting indication...

I'd love to see that Ironfist come out. :)

I agree! Sometimes I run to the soundtrack. I prefer Dare, though, for that purpose... Strangely enough, also Dare to be Stupid, which has a good, fast beat and keeps me at a good pace!

I have to skip past the slow ones, though. The death piece is certainly not motivating at all, lol.

Really excited for either Hound or Mirage! Definitely wouldn't mind seeing a cage and key with Hound and a clear cuboid and cerebro shell for Mirage. A clear variant would be cool though.

I'm excited for both :)

That being said if I could have any Masterpiece right now it'd be Sunstreaker.

DPrime,
Ironfist will go very nicely with Generations Springer, the Mech Ideas Topspin and Twin Twist and if iGear ever get round to releasing the damn thing, Impactor.

Furyan,
Great post! :clap

:goodpost:

All the speculation over the next masterpiece figures is maddening, but in a good way. Personally hoping for a Megatron or Galvatron, but I'm sure whoever Takara goes with I'll be happy with considering the run of recent figures starting with MP-10 (MP-12 paint apps notwithstanding).

Where can i find those Transformers Insignia stickers i see people stick on their 3 party figures?
Any help would be appreciated :D

Megatron V2 will be a must have providing it's along the lines of Hegemon and not MP V1.

Galvatron might be one I'd have to think about a bit but I wouldn't rule it out just in case Takara or a 3rd party company make Cyclonus & Scourge....Fans Toys have already expressed an intrest in making both.

How realistic before we see Jazz come to life in Masterpiece form?

It depends on whether the VW Group relax their stance on certain brands that they own being used for anything related to war as they're still very sensitive about the origins of their company.

Several years ago they rejected a pitch from Takara to make a Binaltech Jazz that turned into a Porsche Boxster on the grounds that it was turning into a robot with a weapon thus making it a "war toy".

Lamborghini are also owned by VW and Takara got the license for MP Sideswipe, Red Alert and ( still to come ) Sunstreaker which has lead some to suggest that the Porsche license will now be a piece of cake.

The thing that's being overlooked is that the only type of vehicle Lamborghini have in their history aside from sports cars happen to be tractors, which are considerably less sensitive than what VW & Porsche designed for the 3rd Reich.

So a fully licensed MP Jazz that turns into a Porsche 935 might still be off limits.

There's the possibility that Takara could go the Classics route and go for a Porsche lookalike alt mode if they can get away with it or even change the alt mode entirely but given the level of accuracy to the originals shown since the Masterpiece line was rebooted this is unlikely and would generally be seen as a step backwards.

Failing that a 3rd party company could fill the gap as licenses aren't an issue for them.

Fans Toys would be my pick for making such a toy as their Shockwave is a Masterpiece in everything but name.

It's got both. This figure makes the official MP releases feel like KOs.

That may be so but there's something about the look that seems a BIT off... Maybe that's not the right way to put it, but I think Takara could design one that looks a bit better.

If I didn't think an official one was likely, or if the price had been a bit lower, I might bite. I still might, actually. It's on my trade list as a want, but while I'd happily trade for one I just don't quite want one enough to buy.

A part of me could probably live without an MP Shockwave, though, too... If FT released a Jazz though, or Bumblebee, I'd be all over it. As Corsair said official ones may never happen...

Do you mean in size or its got the quality? Or both?

Both.

It's not 100% accurate to the G1 design but it's close enough and the build quality is better than many official MP's including the recent ones.

It also cost me £30 LESS than MP13.

If Fans Toys can maintain this kind of quality and further refine their ability to recreate the G1 aesthethic then iGear, FansProject, TFC and all the other 3rd parties may as well quit because they'll be blown away.

Their next release is likely to be Blaster but they've also expressed a desire to make,

Dinobots
Cyclonus
Scourge

EDIT
I recieved a riser I bought for my display case off ebay this morning,

It works rather well. I think I'll be getting several more of that size for various TF's and HT figures and see if I can get one slightly higher so Starscream can really look down on Skywarp & Thundercracker :lol

2nd EDIT,
A better look at Ironfist,

The IDW art he's based on,

The colors need a bit of work but the basic design is sound enough.

Thanks for the responses guys, he looks great I might have to track that Shockwave down. :clap
All I have for MP's right now are the 3 jets (American releases) so trying to decide what I want to swoop up in that size next.

Alright, I'm buying. :)

We REALLY need Impactor now!

I'll wait for in hand reports as with a new company the QC is always a concern but Ironfist is definitely on my list of potential purchases.

If Ironfist does well it'll pave the way for Mach 5 to attempt another Wrecker....Guzzle would be a good choice as he's similar in stature.

If iGear aren't careful someone else will beat them to Impactor which would be a shame as their prototype is awesome.

Love the doubles display! Im still torn on displaying mine the same way or building a huge battlefield diorama for the bot modes and displaying the alt modes seperately. I have always had this vision of a huge coffee table display with an G1 autobots vs decepticons battlefield encased inside. Well with the articulation of the MP figures I think I could make something even more amazing.*drool
