Not toy related as such, but I just watched TF movie from 1986 and well...it just wasn't all that greatI hadn't seen it before and didn't expect it to be any masterpiece. Some might say it is a bit sad, that a silly cartoon from 80's did some of the stuff better that those modern bayformers. However, to be fair; at least the firts bayformers movie is IMO better that this cartoon. because it just wasn't that good either. So yeah, some of the good ol' G1 stuff namely from the 80's was rather silly as well, but not all of it.
Too bad you didnt see it as a kid when it came out all those years ago. Totally different experience IMO.

Yeah I read that post too. He does prove some interesting points. If true Im on the hype train,never had his G1 toy so this would be excellent!
I'm down for Mirage. He's no Hound or Jazz, but he'll do. . .for now! Played a critical, memorable role in the first Transformers limited series.
My dream list for the next 7..
MP19 - Smokescreen
MP20 - Megatron 2.0
MP21 - Hound
MP22 - Mirage
MP23 - Blaster
MP24 - Jazz
MP25 - Ultra Magnus
Been wanting a Hound figure since I was 5. The thought of a fully articulated G1 Hound sends shivers down my spine.

I saw it in the Cinema when I was 9 & it holds such a special place in my heart.
I still remember being a blubbering wreck for most of the film after Prime Died but it was just so fantastic.
Yeah saw that yesterday but had no idea who he was till you posted & seen he's just in the IDW continuity so will be an easy pass for me.
That will be freaking awesome if it is, I love Mirage he's always been way up there as one of the best Autobots for me.
Yeah I never owned him either, my friend had him & I always played with him when she was round but never actually had one of my own...same with Hound so either of these will be awesome in the MP line up
That's some wish list & would be nice if they did that but I'd probably lose Blaster & possibly even Magnus for a bit longer to have Takara versions of Ratchet & Ironhide or one I'd love to see would be Trailbreaker or if they could sort any license issues Wheeljack would be awesome

Yes me too,the death of Optimus was tragic for little kids. I still get a piece of that "feel" even when I watch it today! Would love to see it in a theater again!
Ratchet n Ironhide will be excellent! I think the igear versions sort of cooled my anticipation a bit. I didnt buy them but after seeing them,I felt confident enough that Takara could make even better versions. Bring em on,bring them ALL on!

The characterisation is great, the artwork is great, Prime and co are barely in it so it's a change from the usual TF story format, there's funny bits, sad bits and downright awesome bits such as Springer going mental with a minigun.
The human character that's in it isn't irritating either which is almost unheard of

I did mention Mirage a while back, but the latest theory suggests it's happening sooner than expected which for me would be awesome as I'm really not intrested in Galvatron or Ultra Magnus.
If Mirage is the next Autobot car it leaves me with a dilemma,
Do I get 2 of the regular one and 2 of the inevitable clear variant?
Or 1 regular and 1 clear?
I also wonder if the reason that plans may have changed is because Takara are doing more retooling for Smokescreen than expected....which would be worth him being pushed back IMO.

I must have missed your posting. As for your dilemma,thats a tough one. If you can afford it Id say go 2 and 2! Me personally Id go 2 reg Mirage and 1 clear. These cars are so stunning I really have convinced myself that I need two of each to show off both modes. Cannot get enough of these guys.
Have seen the Classics version? Not MP, but probably one of the top 2 or 3 best Classics Transformer released IMO. Seekers may edge him out though.

Yes I have seen it! I was this close to buying it (takara version)actually. Around that same time we got a glimpse of the picture below. I made a decision then that I was gonna go all in with just MP figures because there was a really good chance Hound would be made. The one thing I always loved about Hound was his his oldskool military jeep alt mode. That combined with that deep green really set him off. And while the classics version looked good,I just didnt care for the color or alt mode too much in the end. Another thing is if I had bought Hound I would be tempted to start collecting all the classics I like which would of killed my wallet
I have not one in my collection,luckily Im in a position to collect all of the MP line from MP10 on up and hopefully finish the whole line. Ive never ever had a complete collection of anything except my old Marvel trading cards. This is really exciting and I hope the MP line lasts forever..

I would love a total mind wipe so I could go back & experience it all again.
I'm actually on the hunt for the Laserdisc version at the moment as it's the only format I don't own it on...I don't even own a laserdisc player but I want it

A Masterpiece Hound would be awesome.....and isn't beyond the realms of possibility as G1 Hound turned into a Mitsubishi J59 jeep so licensing probably wouldn't be an issue.
Now that Masterpiece Ravage is out it'll likely mean a cage for him would be one of Hound's extras.

Lol yep it's barely very far away from the CD Player or repeat on the iPod
I just love everything about it, fitted the film perfectly, nothing could have tied in better with what was happening on screen at that moment then the music they used in the film, it just epitomizes everything that was great about movies & OST's in the 80's
Shame every soundtrack since the first Turtles Movie in 1990 has just been rubbish...80's movies had the best Soundtracks ever!!!

One thing on Masterpiece Hound that Takara would really have to outdo themselves on is the headsculpt.
The one on the Classics/Henkei toy was so close to the animation model that I'd be fine if it was resized for the Masterpiece.
Going back to Mirage it'll be nice to finally own a version of the character if the Masterpiece happens as I never had the original and I disliked the pin head and anorexic aesthetic of the robot mode on the CHUG version.

Yeah, there were some great tracks in 80's movies, the Rocky series in particular was just as memorable for the music as the action.

Really excited for either Hound or Mirage! Definitely wouldn't mind seeing a cage and key with Hound and a clear cuboid and cerebro shell for Mirage. A clear variant would be cool though.

I got the Takara versions of some of the FE toys, but I'm not sure the later ones, like Shockwave, are "better enough" for me, I guess.
But I'm in a similar boat, otherwise. I will be satisfied, I think, by Shockwave, Smokescreen and Ultra Magnus (though I'd still like to get Skyquake for a decent price or trade), and will PROBABLY have to get that big Predaking too... but I probably don't need the other new beastformers or the new versions of old characters.
Maybe the new Prime if I can get a good price, since he's like that on the show now. We'll see.

I agree! Sometimes I run to the soundtrack. I prefer Dare, though, for that purpose... Strangely enough, also Dare to be Stupid, which has a good, fast beat and keeps me at a good pace!
I have to skip past the slow ones, though. The death piece is certainly not motivating at all, lol.
Even though I like the MCU movies more than the POTC ones, Jack is still my favorite HT figure in my collection though that may change once I recieve Loki.
Post some pics of your new tats when they're in progress, you can always put a Transformer in the pic to stay on topic
