The thing I wil never understand about these situations is the mass hysteria from people who never even met the person that passed away.

It's sad that these things happen but unless you knew the person personally why get into such a state about it?

I was tired after the 2nd day. I agree with you bcm77. It's sad that he's dead, but I'm not gonna cry. I don't even know the guy. Maybe I'm cold. Sorry.

Eric

i haven't even noticed anything more than usual, maybe it was a good time for the satelitte tv to go down:monkey2

Honestly I haven't noticed the Michael Jackson hoopla. I don't watch the news, go on news sites, or read the paper. First time I noticed what impact his death had was when I was in a grocery store today and I noticed all the magazines had his mug plastered on the front cover. Of course this is to be expected, and if nobody understands that or wasn't prepared for such a media impact is living under a rock.

I loved Thriller when I was a kid. I thought Michael was the coolest thing ever. But I've kinda already mourned, if that's the right word, Michael Jackson in the early 90s when he was first accused of pedophilia and fled the country. I still dig his early music but that's about it. For the past few years I've respected him about on par as my respect for Prince. Except I like Prince's early stuff better.

If you're tired of it, watch/read news sources that're actually news, and not targeted towards providing entertainment. They do still exist!

"Why didn't Jackson belong to the NRA?"

"Why didn't the world cry when Charlton Heston died?"

Baw haw haw

So you really don't know anything.

Man.. I went with the wifes family on a wine tour yesterday (wine blows btw). We got a bit turned around looking for a particular winery and ended up driving through one of the neverland entrances on a little back road.

We couldn't believe the collection of nut jobs that were hanging out there. It took us like 15 minutes just to pass through because all the morons don't know how to walk on the side of the road. Tons of idiots still there with "MJ" sht painted all over their car windows, news vans and the smart ones selling tshirts and water.

I really don't understand the logic. Why in the world would anyone want to stand out in the desert in the heat, staring at a gate with flowers-n-crap all over it? Seriously, these folks need to get a life. :lol

It's overwhelming to say the least, but seems to be taming down....After tues. it will be calm until all the toxicology comes in and Doctors are busted. But all in all, he will just go down in the pages of history as a damaged, talented entertainer/celebrity. No MJ official or national holiday....add him to the list in February.

I'm able to avoid most of the media circus, and enjoy seeing the music clips on TV, when I happen to be watching, because I have plenty to do besides watching TV. It's not as if I have to get up to turn the TV off or change channel, because I have a remote and a brain to use it with.

What I am tired of is the hypocrisy of coming onto the freaks board and seeing the people that moan about it starting threads. :duh You're just adding into the hype but continuing the "conversation". When people stop talking about it, that's when it disappears. On the other hand, the irony of it all makes me chuckle.

So no, I'm not tired of the MJ media frenzy. That's why I'm reading this thread and posting a reply.

I'm waiting to see how many show up at Staples Center on Tuesday even though they said there would be nothing to see. It's going to be a mess! I think alot of them just want to try and be on tv, or hoping they see a celebrity up close.

He was a private person, they should've had a private funeral. Plus the fact that the city has to pay out a ton of money for this.

Yeah, it makes no sense whatsoever. Staples will be a huge mess, guaranteed. Over a million poeple have tried to get the tickets so far. That fact that the city is payng for this (IE: we're paying for it) makes me sick :sick

who are the guilty mods on line :gun????

If you are sick of MJ isn't starting another thread about it sort of hypocritical and adding fuel to the fires? :monkey3
