In today's economy there is no such thing as "a guaranteed moneymaker".
And everyone seems to keep forgetting that the life of a figure depends not just on the want for that figure but the necessary preorders to make it happen. Couple that with the overseas factory delays that seem to be being blamed on Amok Time as if they had any decision in how the factories push them back....
Okay, then let me rephrase that. Out of all the figures I've seen them put out, Bub has the most potential of selling. Not only is there the already bult-in cult customer base, but all things zombie seem to be hot ATM. I think it's safe to say, especially at the price (assuming it doesn't double come arrival) that the lower cost will ensure a profitable release as well. As for the factory delays, so long as they assure their customers that Bub's on the way, it's not much different than any other delay (how many times has Sideshow delayed a figure?). If they can put Karloff out, they can get Bub out too.
