Ok MF, we need to start a thread for archived photos of characters, pics, etc. Or let me know if this thread already exists. Where do you get such awesome screen caps?

HOURS of web browsing. I collect quality images from Star Wars and other films I like wherever I find them. Back when ROTS first came out, there were a lot of leaked hi-res shots and this one site was like a goldmine til LFL found it and shut them down. Then I started perusing other places and just amass what I can get.

Check him out in Shattered Glass, he's pretty good. I think certain actors need good directors and others don't. I'd say Mace and Anakin came off goofy sometimes because of poor directing by GL, because let's face it Samuel L. Jackson is a great actor.

Seen it, and still disagree. He's the male equivalent to Jessica Alba in terms of acting. Wooden is the best term to describe it. Samuel L. came off goofy as well, I agree, but goofy from goofy lines and directing still doesn't equal bad acting. That's all I'm going to say on it though, it's a great statue and I don't mean to derail the thread. I'm just stating my opinion on a terrible actor.

Fair enough, you aren't the first or last to state a similar opinion. Now let the :chew dance!

Well please pm links of some sites you may know about, also what about starting up a Photoshop tips and tricks thread? Also to stay on topic the PF is cool, nothing I'd buy but I respect it. The hand gesture seems a little wonky though.

I wouldnt say it was the actor, but more Lucas disgusting dialogue that ruined the character.:monkey1

Lucas rushed those prequals, that's why they had poor acting in them.He only does 2 or 3 takes at the most.He was more interested in making money than he was making a great film franchise that everyone loved like the first trilogy.
The acting in ROTS should have been the acting in TPM and then progressed through to the rest of the movies.I think he should have gotten someone else to direct, but we all knowe he did'nt because of the money.

There could be some truth in that, I just think the guy is a bit of a control freak. If I remember right he once told Irvin Kirshner "What are you doing, you're ruining my movie!" of course I am paraphrasing but it went along something like that. So the next step was to hire someone more (no offense to the deceased) obedient, enter Richard Marquand who brought a lot to Jedi in the sense of ideas to specific scenes and shots but ultimately had to bow down to the GL. I feel there are too many yes men in the LFL camp now, he is a great collaborator but he still needs to be reigned in more or to have someone bounce off ideas from. He is a perfect idea man with great concepts (a lot of the cooler character traits of Indiana Jones came from him) and editor. The prequels needed a guy to say "you can type this sh_t but you can't say it." I'm talking to you nava computer.

I guess that's why ESB is probably the best of the six movies... I think Lucas is an idea guy, he just needs someone else to take it from his brain to the screen.

Hayden is not a bad actor at all. If you've seen him in different films you would realize that. You can blame Lucas for his crappy acting. Same with Natalie (she is a very good actress) and the man Samuel.

Thanks for the help guys really!!i just completed my first order through sideshow for the exclusive Anakin pf.I hope that anything will go fine...

Natalie is talented for sure, I've yet to see Hayden in anything else but he seems like he's got potential. The issue with PT acting was that only 2 people were able to rise above everything, McGreggor and McDiarmid. Ewan I think had more balls to say I'm going to do this thing how I feel is best and also was trying to deliver on Guiness' template. McDiarmid is a great actor and GL trusted him to do what's right. Hayden and Natalie walked in with the mindset that it was GL's baby and they best just do as they're told, that hurt them because they probably did things they wouldn't have if they had the courage to challenge him more. I think even Sam Jackson had a bit of a POV that Star Wars was a phenomenon and it was GL's project and I don't think he challenged things much either. Had these same actors done these films back before Star Wars blew up to the scale it's at when they were made, I bet the acting and all would have been much different.

Rick McCallum does seem to come off as a GL worshiping yes man in most of the interviews I have seen.
I met him once, very nice guy for the two seconds I saw him, comes off as very passionate but that's what a good producer should be. I think everyone is in awe of GL (even me) and when you work for him you want to please him naturally because he has this huge history now and you want to be a part of it. I think the prequels needed someone to come in and give structure and balance to the story. When everyone is telling you how awesome you are eventually you will believe it and your vision or art rather begins to suffer because of it. There is a reason the Indy films are so awesome and that's Steven Spielberg, he is the yin to George's yang. So when you get the greatest director of all time and the greatest idea man you get awesome results!

Awesome, welcome to the forums. You are in for a treat! Also I can't believe that no one took the Darth Maul screen name before.

I think that's what helped a lot with ROTS turning out so well, Spielberg aided GL on some scenes, I don't know what capacity, but he was involved.

I would've used Darth Maul, but it's not as expressive of my passion for the character as what I went with :D

I was DekeStarkiller but I had the spelling wrong so I went with a combo of my name and SW dorkyness.

Well im a big Noob here in sideshowfreaks..it was a good start for me with Anakin p.f. to expand my pf collection.you see here in Greece is very difficult to find them all and the most important the prices are too high
