I really like the saber moved down. If Sideshow is smart, they will fix it. It just looks more natural to me and if I collected PFs it would be a deciding factor whether I was interested in the piece or not. Trevor, could you please post a pic of your unpainted Anakin sculpt?

Ya, in theory, I didn't think the downward saber would work with the Force hand, but seeing it executed, it does work much better. There's still time :D

I definitely prefer the saber pointing down more if for no other reason than space. Really I think it could be down even further than Maulfan's change. I would imagine it to be a pose as if Vader (because I'm displaying mine w/ Sith eyes) has been hacking at some sep leaders on Mustafar and has come to a blast door that he is using the force to wrench open.

As it is I will probably just have the lightsaber in front of whatever PF I have him displayed next to (if there is room anyways).

I love how alive he looks in this shot.

And kudos to Sideshow for using moody lighting on some shots to highlight the sculpt.

That is a nice scuplt. They just need to get the browns and black shades right with clothes, especially the brown fabric behind the belt,it really needs to be darker.Sorry but I'm gonna keep saying until they fix it.

I'll be saying it too, so don't worry. Even the robe, in some promo shots it's clearly more brown, but in the film, it was more a dark chocolate like Qui-Gon Jinn's, and it always bothered me that Anakin's 1/6 robe wasn't dark enough, and Qui-Gon's even more so wasn't. Still great figures, but second time around with a representation, one would think things would be noticed. And again, color doesn't effect function of the piece so that's why I harp on it and let the fabric choice of the robe slide because I think that has to do with function and that concerns me more, I want the rob flowing like it does and I think the accurrate material would be stiff.

Everything looks different in real life than it does on the screen. Anyone want to put up some screen caps to compare it too? That one still that has been repeated over and over again has a chocolate colored tabard and we know that's not right.

Great sculpt and pose. I'd get it if the actor hadn't ruined the character.

I wouldnt say it was the actor, but more Lucas disgusting dialogue that ruined the character.:monkey1

Nope. Hayden has as much acting chops as Steven Seagal. You are write about Lucas' dialogue as well though. Couple those two things with the poor kid having to share time on screen with a great actor like Ewan and it doesn't make for a pretty picture.

what ever. All aspects of Anakin in the prequels is just fine (ok, that little 'so in love' thing in ROTS is odd, but all other elements are great and I'd not change them.)

Actually, it is. Everything on the costume is a very deep brown and under the films dark lighting it appears to be black.

While I would prefer this PF (and the 1:6 for that matter) to have dark brown tabards, I'm willing to let it slide because I know how difficult it is to get all of the shades correct in relation to each other. The tabards' brown is the darkest of all of them and so close to actually being black that it's a minor concern.

Check him out in Shattered Glass, he's pretty good. I think certain actors need good directors and others don't. I'd say Mace and Anakin came off goofy sometimes because of poor directing by GL, because let's face it Samuel L. Jackson is a great actor.

can anyone explain me the different between exclusive and the proper p.f.?is there any interchangeable head? and what is that ``portrait``that ss refairs to?thanks guys!!!
sorry for the noob questions.

The Exclusive PF was designed so that the Anakin head can be removed and swapped with another head that features the Sith eyes of Darth Vader.

Ok, so I dug into my image resources, and here's a selection of varying Anakin images to show the different tones of his costume as seen in various lighting conditions. What rings home with me is the darker tones under the robe, the whole idea was to transist Anakin towards Vader, with the AOTC costume being dark brown and the ROTS costume being nearly black. The tunic is a purplish dark brown that leans more towards black in most lighting, the tabbards are black and the sash around his waist is the same dark shade as the tunic, while his robe is dark brown but not as close to black as his tunic. Hasbro's first 3 3/4" figure I think perfectly capture the colors and for the most part, Sideshow's 1/6 figure did right, and their opt to use black material to capture the film lighting effect was the right course in my book. We can't replicate film lighting in our homes so taking measures against the bare bones design to capture both the base design and what was seen on screen is the best of both worlds for us.

I feel this photo here is what the color scheme for any ROTS Anakin/Vader product should be in the costume.

Ok MF, we need to start a thread for archived photos of characters, pics, etc. Or let me know if this thread already exists. Where do you get such awesome screen caps?
