2K for a fake would suck bad.dont buy from chinese seller.

I don't believe its fake. For anyone spend that kind of money on one statue wouldn't they do any homework or back ground search about this piece plus the pictures look very authentic.

I just hear from Statue Forum, that this latest hulk that was sold may be a fake!! Apparently one of the members there has stated that he has edition #61 of the Gray hulk, and that the one sold on ebay is a #61.

Man that sucks if this is indeed true.

no way man, i recall it stated in his auction that he hated fakes.
so of course you have to believe he wouldn't sell them

I didn't know there where recastings of the Hulk PF!? If the one in this auction is a fake, it looks damned good! Or, these pictures are of an original one. Anyway, it only takes a spark to start a fire: who knows if the SF info is valid?

i dont think it'a a recast....maybe he is a good seller but he is unlucky...

Can you link to that post? Should be easy enough to ask him to take a pic of the numbered base.

I wonder, i've seen some people do scumbagish things like sell their broken pieces on eBay, that were meant to destroyed and trashed for a replacement. It's possible someone sold their broken Hulk to him, and that guy repaired it and sold it like new?

I cannot believe that that Grey HULK is a fake, man these are sad days... :monkey2 :monkey2 :monkey2

You know, if it is a fake, it is the auction that is not a fake, or the guy posted a pic of the wrong base, because IMO the pics are of an original one. If I was looking for a gray hulk, as far as I am concerned then those pics are of an authentic SS Hulk. The recast ones have different shadings and different details to the sculpts.

As for the buyer, at least they are protected within the harbours of ebay.

Problem is we have no facts, only the statement of a credible forum memeber on Statue Forum, which, by the way, I have no reason to doubt him.

The eyes on the Ebay Gray Hulk are different than mine which was purchased directly from SS.

Wow, that's a tense discussion they have going on at SF!
I have no doubt that SSC has ideas on how to corroborate the authenticity of their statues. It is time they finally put them into practice!! These re-casters do not only rob from Sideshow, but also from collectors.

Fellas, that's the problem with all of our "modern" collectibles. The factories they are produced in are in China, right? So, what's to stop said Chinese factory from getting their piece of the pie, albeit illegally? If not the factory itself, what's to stop three or four guys from doing their own thing?

In other words, let's say a caster, a painter and one of the clothing experts get together and decide they are going to make 100 extra of the limited edition product as its being produced. They go to the box and styrofoam guys and get them in on it. Then sit on 100 extras they make when the run is initially produced. About a year later said item goes up to $1000.00 on the secondary market. These four or five gentlemen then go to ebay and get a quick $200 a piece when the item sells for $1000.00.

Theft in manufacturing goes on all the time. I know of a fella at a auto manufacturer who ripped off enough tools to fill his entire garage. Including a motor lifter. If this can be done in the States...why not worse in China? It may not all be dirty little "re-casters". The quality with which these counterfeiters produce these fakes is too precise to just be some guy making recasts in his garage. Coupled with the fact that a great deal of Chinese factory workers live in a dorm at the factory makes it even easier.

The only way to make sure you get the real deal is to buy directly from Sideshow, or one of their authorized vendors, as the items are produced. Period.:angelsmil
