For anyone who wants reality, I'll lay some on ya. I think that it has been proven on more than a few occasions that the sculpts are not the problem. With Sideshow figures it is frequently (not always, but frequently) the paint app that throws off the likeness. I am even willing to assume that the texturing on the medicom figures (which is a nice touch...but oh so unimportant), is a paint app technique...not the sculpt. And I concede immediately that I have no artistic talent so I may not be correct in that area.

It actually kinda baffles me how people will argue the same mundane points and end up at the same mundane conclusions over and over...and then get upset about a character that is done over and over. Contradictory? Maybe not. But it definitely showcases humankinds duality.

I used to skip class just to play frisbee , PPO is worthy of a skip, just keep a sharp ear for Test or Quiz on that day, if it's just a normal class, screw it, Luke takes priority haha.

If I wasn't cutting graduation so close I'd be all for it but I cannot afford anything below B's in my classes this semester. I agree though, this Luke IS starting to take priority.

Problem is that Hot Toys is pushing the quality on an higher level lately, especially on paint and clothing.
The price is higher, but they show what is possble (that is on a production piece and not a many working hours later altered custom)

Ahhh, yes, graduation and the pressures of trying to make it, I spent my last semester hoping to get D just to pass one class, it was way beyond my interest and I couldn't learn the material to save my life, but at my school, my major classes were at screwy times so all I had left when those were filled was bull**** course NO ONE wanted to be in. *shudders* Senior year was both fun and STRESSFUL, glad I don't have to relive it.

Not from what I saw. The point was brought up in the Han thread that it looked nothing like him and in the posts I saw about Luke they were saying that SS was "hiding" the sculpt like they did with the Bespin Han preview pic. 90% of the people there are unhappy with just about everything SS puts out.

Yes there is, but without civility there is only chaos. It's very possible to discuss opinions on collectibles and NEVER bring individuals or groups of people into the matter, but when people start slandering at people it's uncalled for and uncivil and shouldn't be tolerated.

The highlighted portion shows I wasn't lying that some people are down on it.

And Sean, man I wish I only needed a D, all my classes are C or better. Hence why Im cutting it close

Shirt looks good, hard to screw up the pants, sculpt is done by Trevor and we all know the Buck so all things considered if the paint apps are good, dare I say ANOTHER homerun?

The only problem is, there are SO MANY accessories Luke should have that they can't possibly put them all in without charging $80 for the figure or putting out a $30 expansion pack

Well, that's MA state school for ya low expectations. I wish I could have gone somewhere better, but I was never in a position for it. I can't apply myself to subjects I don't like, no matter how much I study I just can't retain anything, so my grades weren't at scholarship level, and being an art major, I never had a good enough portfolio to get accepted into a good school's program. I'm not a fine artist, I was always just ok with paints and stuff, and in high school that's all the portfolio you'd have. Maybe now with a digital portfolio I'd have I could get in, but just wasn't in the cards back in the day.

alright, so there is ONE singular knock on the sculpt (guess i don't pay enough attention to that guy....) my bad (eating crow), but one guy is not THEY in totality like you're playing it up

and you can vouch for this, it's byfar the most tame reaction to a new announcement

Well, that's MA state school for ya low expectations. I wish I could have gone somewhere better, but I was never in a position for it. Oh come now, I go to a PA state school (THE PA State School, Penn State ) It's just that their professors tend to be too smart for me sometimes and I get lost in the class. I think I may gauge the class on the first week and a half and if I can survive missing ONE class I will. I cannot miss this Luke.

Shirt looks good, hard to screw up the pants, sculpt is done by Trevor and we all know the Buck so all things considered if the paint apps are good, dare I say ANOTHER homerun?

Well, as has been pointed out, it could be an issue if the buck and the hands/head don't match in color with the base body really being exposed. With that, I hope QC will be more focused on getting a match versus figures where you don't see the base body. Ben matches so it SHOULDN'T be an issue but until it's in hand, we'll never know. Paint apps need to turn out well too. It has the makings of a winner, but until you roll this one out on the tracks we won't know what she's got.
