you'd think with all the complaining, my wait lists would convert quicker. still dont have han.:dunno got luke though. somebody doesnt like him.:lol

Best of luck with Han, I think he turned out really nice, sure a few things could be different/better on him, but I'm satisfied with what he turned out to be, which is most important and I think he's good enough for a lot of folks to feel that way.

Never know. They might not be able to replicate Indy's pleather and we end up with a plastic or cloth jacket instead.

For Indy, I always figured we'd get something akin to T-800's pleather jacket.

As to this Luke tunic debate, the proto clearly looks better, but until the figure starts getting into people's hands it's hard to tell what it will be like. The weaving is thicker and more apparent, unlike the proto piece, but that doesn't mean it won't look good to the naked eye on the shelf.

In recent memory, the only clothing issue that really irked me was Leia's dress. Usually, SS clothing is really nice for the price.

I sure hope Indy's jacket is better than T-800 jacket, I always thought the "leather" on T-800 was cheap crap and looked pretty poor the way it wrinkles and stuff, Indy'd be worth $30 less if his jacket were that poor.

As for the Star Wars line, yup, ANH Leia's dress has been the only real dissappointment in the entire line. Sure some could have been better, but she was the only really WTF tailoring piece, between the material and the separate collar, she was just a low point in tailoring.

If Indy's jacket is anything better than T-800 then I will be happy. But I'm expecting that Arnie material as they used it already for a leather jacket. Not sure the price hike will increase the material cost to the point where they buy nice pleather. Besides, even the proto pics of Indy looked like the same T-800 pleather to me.

Prepare yourself... disappointment is relative.

I see your point the way it wrinkles at the elbow, but overall looks nicer. If it's the same fine, guess it works better on Indy, but with T-800 it just wreaks of toy in some ways. I'm more worried about his stubble paint than his clothes.

Anywho, back to Luke, I can't wait to get him, this is the first really full set of figures since Jabba and cronies we've gotten in the SW line, so I can't wait to round out the ANH set as it were. Sure some pieces are still missing, but it's fuller than the couple guys here and there from each of the other films and such. Ya Order of the Jedi is a full set of sorts, but outside of the AOTC arena, they never were all together that much.

That's true: Old Ben, Han, Leia and Luke should look terrific on the shelf -- a solid ANH display (if not complete). Droids and Chewie are gonna be SOOOOO needed by the end of this SDCC. Maybe we'll get a surprise. Besides the ANH Vader I mean.

Since I have a Chewbacca already, I'm really hoping SS will finally tackle the droids...or hand them off to HT to do like the exoskeleton.

Ya, they're absense will be felt, but where a lot of the ANH promotional shots were Luke, Han and Leia, at least the deep core of characters is rounded off, with the best hero in the whole saga represented in his elder years as well.

I bet there will be ANH Vader at SDCC. Then a Stormtrooper. R2 & 3PO will be after that I suppose. Chewy will be the last and most complicated of the core ANH characters I think.

What they'd be wise to do, since Chewie will take special engineering, make 3 Chewbacca's and design them so just the heads swap as far as the body goes. Make an ANH, ESB/ROTJ and ROTS head, change the accessories and there you go. I personally want an ESB/ROTJ Chewie, I like the bangs over his eyes more than the fully slicked back look of ANH/ROTS.

I don't know if we'll see Chewie or not. I think sculpted is the only way to go. I'm not sure if even HT could pull him off.

Sculpted is not the way to go, there's no way a sculpted fur suit would look natural when bending at the joints. And I wouldn't want an immobile 1:6 statue.
Real scaled fur is the only way to go imo; I do think Sideshow is capable of doing it.

We shall see. I don't think we'll see him in this scale. PF? Yeah, I do but not 1:6th. The reason I say that is I agree furry is the way to go to make it what it should be but I don't think its something that can be pulled off and look proper.

Couldn't they do something like the HT Aliens where sculpted parts are combined with rubber sheaths that go over the joints somehow?

They could but the shadows produced from the seams would really stand out, not really a problem with an alien though.
I just feel that going a real fur route would result in a better looking figure then anything sculpted could achieve.
