I'm a junkie, Disney is my dealer, Marvel is the needle and MCU is the drug. :lol

That and coffee. :lol

I'll tell you, reading all those funny Marvel books as a kid and wanting too see them come to life for many decades sure buys alot of forgiveness.

You would think that I would be less forgiving when they mess it up, but I'm not. I'm just happy and thrilled to see them.

I just don't feel that there is one BAD MCU movie.

You know, BAD as in PT BAD. (not even TIH, IM2/3, Thor 2).

TIH and IM3 come close. But you're right, they're not PT terrible. They always have solid acting for the most part considering the subject matter.

Overall, MCU has done an incredible job of bringing their master plan to life successfully. I would have bet against it ever happening when I first heard what they were planning in the early part of this millennium. But they really have pulled it off.

I will be getting the 3D blu rays for:
Avengers
Winter Soldier

Maybes:
CA: First Avenger
Thor
GOTG

No:
IM2
IM3
Thor 2

Hulk isn't even on the radar.

I need to see AoU again to see if I warm up to it. Ant-Man was fun but no interest in watching it again.

If I were to rank everything in the MCU sans one shots so far, it'd end up like this:

(Daredevil: Season 1)
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
The Avengers
Iron Man
Ant-Man
Captain America: The First Avenger
Guardians of the Galaxy
Avengers: Age of Ultron
(Agents of SHIELD: Season 2)
Thor
The Incredible Hulk
Iron Man 3
(Agents of SHIELD: Season 1)
(Agent Carter: Season 1)
Iron Man 2
Thor: The Dark World

Nice. If I were to rank the DC cinematic universe, it'd end up like this.

I think this is the closest review to how I feel.

I'm still trying to decide which had the worst humor, this, GOTG or AOU. :lol

I'm just a sucker for Fantastic Voyage so I can forgive the eye rolling humor in this and sit back and enjoy the action, charm, Douglas, Lilly, Rudd and the MCU connections.

Day 1 purchase on bluray. (The only MCU movie that I didn't buy day 1 was IM3, took a year for me to finally accept that I need to own them all :lol).

:duff

I'll see how it all sinks in on round 2. Many times for me, things lose their rough edges after a 2nd and 3rd viewing.

It's a definite Blu Ray purchase but I own all of the Avengers saga and never saw a reason to skip one. I agree with you in the way that there really isn't a BAD MCU flick (I'm talking Avengers saga; the X-Saga & Spidey flicks are another story). My motto is the Avenger-Saga flicks are like pizza or sex; even when they're bad they're still good.

Like you said, after growing up on comic culture in the 80's (mainly Marvel), it's just amazing to see all if this brought to the big screen in a time where technological advancements can finally support the mythology properly. I can forgive most of the deviations and accept them as things that work better for the screen in this isolated saga

:lol

Now that's a great movie.

Don't cross the streams!

I'm sure I'll like the movie around Ultron better on 2nd viewing. But I'll just never warm up to that Ultron cartoon character.

Big flaw in MCU: they don't have a truly great villain after how many films?

With the way Disney is about their villains, I doubt we ever will have the 'Vader' for the MCU. Disney will insist there is some level of tragedy or sympathy in the villain's background to soften his evil.

I've only watched it once, I'm curious if I'll roll my eyes less on the humor the 2nd time around.

I always wanted a peeing buddy. :yess:

But Wor, Ultron was going to drop a life ending rock onto earth, would kicking a cat make him more evil for you? :lol

No, sebulba was the pod racer from the phantom menace who walked on his hands and grabbed things with his feet.

Is that Dex? I'm ashamed I know that.

Here's a simple but pretty good summation about the lack of villainy in the MCU:

The worst thing about Avengers: Age of Ultron is Ultron - Vox
I get what your saying. In a the comics Ultron is a beast who could stand up to any Avenger. In AOU he's a maniacal mad doctor who wants to destroy the world. I like the movie, but Ultron cod have been more menacing. The fact that he used a plane with a gun to kill one of them really diminishes his power for me. In the comics Ultron was blasting Avengers everywhere without bullets. It seems that Whedon didn't understand the character in that regard.

Well, I have 2 tickets to the Antman show starting shortly, so I'll report back tonight

BTW to the local guys that go to AMC Fresh Meadows, they do 1/2 off deals for Stub members all day on Tuesdays. It's starting to matter with ticket prices being $16.99 for regular showings :horror

Saw this movie this morning. Possibly the most "by the numbers" Marvel movie yet, but it was really enjoyable. Had a great overall feel, and the action scenes were all pretty fun, though obviously CG-heavy. Rudd was great, Douglas brought the charisma that has paid off for him over the course of his career, villain was one-dimensional, but did what he had to, etc. I look forward to seeing Ant-Man and Wasp teaming up in subsequent films.

Damn. That's hardcore. We went to the first showing today, and the tickets were $5 a piece.
