Saw it again tonight (second time) and really liked it even more.

Compared to AOU (which I barely made it through once....felt more like I was fulfilling an obligation rather than watching a movie), this one does move well, have a good cast and great effects. Very self contained while still connecting with the MCU.
.
That's a good comparison IMO. Ant-Man was much less ambitious, but more rewarding somehow. Sometimes less is more.

Alright, so most initial quibbles melted away. It was pretty good on 1st watch, and it was very good this time. Comedy was better all around than I first thought, so in turn Lang's crew is slightly better too. I even liked Yellowjacket a little more this time, but he's still toward the bottom of the totem pole to me. Hell, I even liked Ant-ny and the rest of them better this too.

Still feel the same about the 3 main heroes. I really took to Pym and Hope, and less so to Lang. He's ok and all but Rudd doesn't own the role like the actors of the rest of the team; at least not yet.

Love Pym's Antman footage and love that they incorporated the "original" Wasp. I don't know why but I always dug Wasp in the books even though she's not one of the heavy hitters. I'm really pumped to see Hope's Wasp. I have a good feeling she's gonna be a bad ass character
Like Jedi said, nicely done as a stand alone, and another fitting piece of the puzzle

Best 2 after credits scenes in a while too

Damn. That's hardcore. We went to the first showing today, and the tickets were $5 a piece.

Wow, I wish! I don't know if seniors at the matinee get off that easy in this town :lol

We get cheap movies day on Tuesdays out here in MA too...pretty sweet. Was a lot easier to get out to them before I had a kid and started working Tuesday nights though ha

Man, regular movies are like $16 out here in LA. 3D is more. Pay online is another $1.50 each ticket. It's nuts. $40 for me and the lady to see a flick.

Explains why I'm cranky.

Really? I live in So Cal and the AMC and Regal Cinema theaters have $5 Tuesdays. XD As long as it isnt in IMAX or 3D.

Not in WLA. At least I don't know about it.

All shows $5? First run? So MI5 will be $5 this coming Tuesday? All shows?

EDIT: just checked Regal Palos Verdes myself and found this comment July 20th: Regal realizes that people are slowly coming back to the theater, and this is why they are now ending their $6 Tuesday movie days.

Sorry. Welcome to LA. XD

East and West coast = Take it up the arse!

Yup. LA & NY are the 2 most expensive cities to live in the country.

You think the movies are bad, don't even get me started on what it costs to do it big at a ball game!!

Absutely adored it as a Marvel film and as a standalone film with its own unique style. I even got little lump in my throat like soft titty baby during the Hank and Hope revelation scene. Wellpaced and Hank Pym was AWESOME.
