Its only $110 difference. The $99 don't come with a cover either.

Its about the same difference as they had before. It looks like it was about $150 orginally between the Signature and regular so take out the case and its the same. I would rather have the signed one personally.

Actually I think that was a special package deal and they were also sold without the covers when the promo was not running. Of course either way the covers were packed and shipped separately so it would be relatively easy to break up 'the set'.

I have the signature version, so I won't be too upset until I see those things selling for $100. But with only 500 made, I don't see that happening anytime soon...

I'm just interested to know why this is being done. The TIE is a relatively new piece. It doesn't seem to make much sense for such a drastic price reduction so soon. Something like this doesn't bode well for a company. I think if Sideshow did something like this, I'd be worried.

I was happy with the price I got for mine, but would have been even happier to wait a bit and get it for this much! 20/20 hindsight strikes again.

Somebody is going to get a great deal on this, that's for sure!

Meanwhile, I have bought my last item from Code 3. I am tired of paying twice the eventual value of their vehicles.

I honestly dont have much confidence in the company at all. I an new to this but I have a feeling that they are just about done. I just went back and looked, it seems that they were not a Comic Con. There home page has not been updated in some time it seems since they have a 50% sold on Tie Fighters but when you go to buy its sold out,hm you dont sell 2500 that fast. I say that they are blowing everything out. Last reason is this item which was pointed out by another member.

Thats is just bad how in the heck did it get past the Lucasfilm, who have approval over all merchandise. For instance there was suppose to be a Chewbacca buddy in the ROTS line but Lucasfilm pulled the plug on it at the last minute because it looked nothing like Chewie and more like the Cowardly Lion from Wizard of Oz in my opinion. A few of these got out in cases mostly showing up at KB Toys. My KB got two and I bought one, wish I would have bought both of them now.

Yes but one of them is blue and its from ROTJ. I dont think there was a blue saber used in that movie.

I'm in the same boat in regards to the Slave I. Of course, I'm softening the sting by buying this TIE SE. Hadn't planned on getting the TIE at all, but at this price I just couldn't resist.

Actually someone brought this up at SF a while back, said something along the lines that they were staying true to the actual poster

As far as the sale. Someone else on SF quoted a post from our own MRichards that he made on RS about this. Said basically that Code3 were moving and were trying to liquidate all stock in order to empty the warehouse prior to the move. And that they were not throwing in the towel and did have future products planned. Now I haven't been the RS to see the thread, but maybe Mike will stop by and chime in on the accuracy of this info.

OX, you're exactly right. Mike told me the same thing. He did tell me of a new product Code 3 plans on releasing next year. I don't know who the hell will buy it right away after all this but it does sound cool.
