I don't see the Stego being scrapped, its what comes after that that is concerning. I don't think we're going to be getting one a quarter anymore. Maybe one or two a year, which is better than none...

Kinda like a slow phase out ? Or does Sideshow usually start out strong with their lines then cut back ? I haven't been into any other lines really to know.

I don't think they would scrap the Stego either..but late 4th quarter release sounds likely now..and yeah 2-3 pieces a year instead of 4 is a possibility. Any chance a cut back on pieces this year is so we'll be able to better afford the others ? I mean the Apato and Stego are prob going to be a bit more costly than most previous pieces I guess..just due to size.

Any chances to have Stego and others for the Comic Con ?I'm remember...There was a poll on their website...What dinosaurs we will want, why do they cut their lines afterall ? It seems that they are a lot of perople are interrested by ?
(And I want a sea monster ^^)

They must decrease the amount of Dinos they're putting out, so that they can keep flooding the market with Marvel and Star Wars. :nana:

Those are the only two lines they seem to truly care about, and fans of those two properties still complain about most of the pieces released.:slap

If they are going to be shown it should definitely be by then. I'm not sure how well that poll was followed..we are getting a Stegosaur though and that was the winner wasn't it ?

I'm pretty sure a lot of us want some kind of prehistoric marine reptile..it's been brought up so much they have to be considering it if not working on it already. I had hoped the next VS piece would be a Tylosaur VS Elasmosaurus myself.

I wouldn't think it is a slow phase out, they usually make pieces or they don't. Like the Indiana Jones line didn't really phase out, new things just stopped being announced. By that same token the Live by the Sword and Six Gun Legends lines were pretty much dead when they did Blackbeard, Wyatt Earp, and Doc Holliday.

I think slowing the line could be to let an item sell out before the next is in stock so the pieces take up less space, or it could be to help make it more affordable since we're getting several high price pieces relatively close together. Or they may sow the line because interest is waning. Or the line could be on life support due to not selling as well as they expected. Or it could be due to overall sales being down. Even Marvel and Star Wars pieces seem to be around longer than they used it.

There is any chance to contact one of the guy from SS to know the situation with the Dinosauria line ? My only interest to buy SS ''products'' are only for Dinos,I don't care of Marvel and Star Wars :nana:

Feel free to try..I've never received a response directly from SS..the closest I've got is on their FB page and the guy was wrong. :/

Do you think that that line has been sold well ? I know that the website from my country has sold out all the Trex(not the diorama),Carnotaurus,Styracosaurus.
Maybe SS are waiting to sold more figures before a new wave...(I hope)

Well, based on the SSC website, it does seem like the selling rate of the dinosauria pieces gradually slowed down.

In our country, only 1~3 units of each dinosauria pieces are being sold by distributors, but since they ridiculously jacked up the prices, some of them are still in stock.... (well, that applies to all imported collectibles, I even saw some 'rare' old stuff from a different line still in stock)

That's to be expected though..a line that is fresh and new will have more of an attraction..but as pieces pile up some collectors get weary of them or become more selective.

The Spinosaurus should have sold well despite it's price point unless the concept of the JP3 version is still way too present in the public mind...then it could have been confusing to some I guess.

The Pterosaur seemed really popular but it's small delay may have been off-putting..same is prob going to be true for the Apatosaurus.

the only reason for my registration here is the SS dinosauria line. I´m also not interested in other SS lines like star wars, marvel etc...
Before the release of the dinosauria line i never heard anything about sideshow (in my dino-world:wink1:)

Pretty much the same here, except that I used to own some Alien products from sideshow. All of them are gone (for funding the dinosauria line) except for the Alien Queen diorama :panic:

Well...I really do hate being right. Looks like the Apato is now pushed to August officially. Crap. That means we are officially not getting a 2nd Quarter piece and if this is pushed back one more time we won't get a 3rd Quarter piece either.

This sure doesn't feel right at all. Maybe this will be the final piece ? Or perhaps this particular one has some MAJOR issues... ?

If the Apato and Stego are revealed for SDCC then maybe we'll have some hope. :/

An August release date is pretty bad news (and there is a possibility that it might be even pushed further back)...

I'm not going to conclusions before they reveal any news during SDCC but I do have a feeling that this might be the last piece of the line :(

This is one of those areas where I think Sideshow drops the ball. It'd be nice if they would just let us know what's going on.

I sent a message to Jorge Blanco and Sideshow just inquiring. Jorge told me he had no idea what was up with either the Apato or the line. Sideshow..I got nothing.

I don't like jumping and especially the conclusion here..but lack of teasers or any news really and the pushing back of this piece...does seem to point to the conclusion Dinosauria is closing shop. It feels so similar to other lines I've collected that have done the same.

I suppose we'll know after this month is up..if nothing new is mentioned then this one if it's even made, will be the last I would guess.

If it falls down maybe I'll see you guys on DTF eh ?

Since the Apatosaurus maquette was available for pre-order and there was no official announcement of it being cancelled, I think it will eventually be released (just much later than what we all have been expecting though)....

As for the Stegosaurus maquette, I am pretty much worried about that it won't ever see the light of day...
