Lets not be close minded people. Samsung has sued Apple in other countries for other patents and have been rewarded, so nobody made a fuss then.

Companies have been doing this for a while now.

That is interesting news. Didn't keep track of that kind of stuff. What was Samsung awarded and in which countries?

Apple goes after Galaxy S3, Note in new court filing

Fresh off its recent patent triumph over Samsung in a Northern California court, Apple files an amended complaint with the same court in a separate case, adding Samsung's flagship Galaxy S3 smartphone to the mix.

Coming off its big victory in its patent suit against Samsung in a Northern California court, Apple has filed an amended complaint with the same court in a separate case -- adding the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note to the list of Samsung devices it says infringe its intellectual property.
As reported by Apple Insider, the filing was made earlier today and involves a complaint first made in February that charged 17 Samsung devices with violating utility patents owned by Apple.

In relation to that complaint -- again, it's separate from the headline-grabbing case that began in April 2011 and wound up last Friday with an overwhelming win for Apple -- the iPhone and iPad maker sought a sales ban on Samsung's Galaxy Nexus smartphone. The San Jose, Calif., court where the complaint was filed granted the ban, but it has been temporarily lifted while it's on appeal before a court in Washington, D.C.

Apple also sought a ban on the Galaxy S3 back in June, but that effort was put on hold owing to a packed court schedule.

In the amended complaint filed today, Apple says "infringing Samsung products include the at least 21 new smartphones, media players, and tablets that Samsung has released beginning in August 2011 and continuing through August 2012" and it lists the Galaxy S3, the Galaxy S3 -- Verizon, and the Galaxy Note smartphones, as well as the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet, among the other products.

Apple would no doubt like to put the kibosh on the Galaxy S3, which has enjoyed brisk sales and has, according to analysts, helped increase Samsung's lead over Apple in the two companies' smartphone sales competition. The Note seems to be doing OK too, if numbers released by Samsung are any indication.
The Amended complaint is embedded below."

i've been using my beat up, toilet dipped, wall bashing nokia 5200 for the last 5 years and its still running. proud owner i must say, an analog boy in a digital world. lolz

my mom bought me a samsung S3 for my birthday a few weeks ago. she noticed i've been using that same old beat up phone i had 5 years ago. the S3 is a bit overkill for my needs but what the hell...

I love my iPhone. Yesterday I lost my cell phone at the mall. Left the sucker in the malls washroom. I thought the phone was long gone. I quickly went to the iPhone store at the mall and was able to track it. Luckily it was tracked and I got it back :)

Now with the Samsung Galaxy S3, there are some features that have the identical to the iPhone. I'm glad they are going against these theives and make them pay for not paying the patent fee.

they still dont have the iPorn yet. screw you Apple.lolz

You can still get it and there is an APP you can download to get it :wink1:

At the mall there is a Mac store.
Someone found it and it was returned to the customer service booth however I did know this until it was tracked. The iPhone has a finder that can be searched through iCloud. It shows exactly where the phone was. Quite an ingenious little device. I'm glad I got it back because I use that phone a lot. I can't go home without it.

The Apple lawsuits are a way to stave off this reality:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/invest...-steve-jobs-apple-has-all-the-appeal-of-dell/

Maybe at elast having countersuits to deal with will keep their legal department busy and off the witch hunt trail. :lol

The gist of that article was basically, that Apple's next iPhone has to be at least up-to-par technologically with the advanced Android smartphones like those in the Samsung Galaxy line, in order for them to still stay relevant. But, even if they don't release such an iPhone, I doubt that it will impact Apple that much (if at all). The two major things that Apple has going for them, that will ensure their continued success are: (1) brand popularity - there isn't a single person in the world who hasn't heard about the iPhone; (2) Expensive and calculated marketing tactics - cable television, mall food courts, highway billboards, magazines, books, Asian dramas, etc, have all displayed ads for Apple products.

I think as long as Apple keeps their relentless marketing machine intact, Android will still have an uphill battle to climb - at least for now, anyway. They don't need Steve Jobs around to help them with that.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF this. ______ Apple. I'm planning on getting a Galaxy Note next April when my contract with T-Mobile expires :(.

So, instead of the government or secret societies or corporations or whoever, paying to spy on you, YOU will pay for the gadget that lets them monitor your every move. Ingenious.

Oh, except when it gets stolen. Then they can't really help you since they'd rather you buy a new one. The tracking is not there for your benefit, duuh.

Well, yes. It makes calls, it connects to the internet, has a mic and speaker... Bloody thieves. Why didn't they invent something new. Why did they have to steal the concept from apple like apple stole the mouse from xerox! ... but didn't get sued ;)
