Retarded. Sold out?!?

so wait, if I reserve one will I have to pay retail?! I tried reserving one, and it says "$699".....:dunno

It's only sold out at AT&T at the moment. The reason it's saying $699 for you, assuming you're eligible for an upgrade, is because Apple can't get to AT&T's records for some reason.

Where is my GD white phone!?!?!?

Dude they reported a day or two in advance that they wouldn't be ready until later. Seriously though, this whole experience has REALLY turned me off a bit. I can't even tell how many times my credit was even run trying to get this. If I my credit gets ____ed due to them I will be HOT! The first thing they do is run your credit. Then you got an error screen or a computer malfunction or whatever. We will see what happens I guess. If I don't get mine on launch day I honestly will either go with the 3GS and upgrade at a later date (first time homebuyers tax credit :lol) or go back and just get the Evo. I would lean toward the Evo at this point. I understand that this is a very hot item. However, it shouldn't be this hard. Even the retard at the store had problems and he works for At&t. Half my day was spent on this.

How about this idea Apple and AT&T?

Have your ____ing employees take down peoples names and numbers on a first come first serve basis and call them a day before their item comes in. This process would require pen and paper and probably a general estimate of expect stock. DUH!

Finally said ____ it and went physically to AT&T which was a madhouse. The lady in front asked if we were there for iPhone and said that they'd only take Credit Cards, not debit or any other kind of payments and put a hold on for the entire balance. Then she said we wouldn't get our phones until the 26th at the earliest but it could be as late as the 5th. So we went to Best Buy, $50 deposit for each phone, in and out in less than 5 minutes. They had 5 iPhones left when we went in so it should be interesting to see once this batch really does sell out how fast Apple can replenish. I'm just glad I got mine in at the eleventh hour apparently.

No they didn't! The world found out at 3am this morning! :lol

Modmyi.com got ahold of some AT&T documentation yesterday evening that suggested AT&T wouldn't get white. There was no public disclosure from Apple or AT&T until early this morning.

:panic::panic::horse:panic::panic:
I want my white iPhone damnit!

Yeah what the ____? Seriously this is retarded. No strike that, Corky could have done a better job with pre-ordering the iphones. Seriously EbGames can takes pre-orders for all the new game systems without error and they sell just as much if not more on launch day! They take X amount of dollars from your credit, debit card, or cash and give you a ____ing paper that says here is your pre-order. How damn hard is that? Companies like this try to get cute because they want to sell out of their allocation (like they will have a problem with that). ____ YOU AT&T and ____ Apple for not have Kabuki's white iphone! :gah:

And if I were AT&T I would want to suck up to potential new customers like myself. After all that's what this is ALL about for them right? Getting new business. I can understand Apple wanting to help existing customers out with upgrades. However, (and I'm sure this won't be a popular opinion) they should have told existing customers they are welcome to upgrade X amount of days after launch. It still would have been looked at as a good gesture on their part and would have I believe helped a lot of these issues. I wonder if they will release the stats of people that upgraded versus new sales?

I cannot believe they required a deposit!?!?!?

They better be giving that to you on the 24th!

I don't see what the big deal of a deposit is. I would rather pay that then give them the full amount up front. Sure its on (hold) but its not like the funds are available while on hold anyways. See like this! My funds are (on hold) from the ATT store that ____ed up my non order! Thats right! No preorder and yet they took the funds!

6/15/2010 AT&T $316.94

I couldn't confirm my eligibility online, and it's really important to me that I not lose my unlimited data plan--so I gave up online.

I went in to the ATT store at 4PM and preordered my new iPhone. They immediately confirmed that I was eligible for the upgrade, but it took about a half hour to actually complete the order because the system was having problems. As we finished, the salesperson told me that I was actually the first person she had successfully ordered for today--all the rest had been manual orders because the system wasn't working until I got there. Nice timing, I guess.

They definitely should have staggered the pre-sales somehow, splitting it into 4 days or something.

The 4th day could have been reserved for Kabuki's white iphone!

Don't quote me until I'm done editing!

;)

If they somehow screw up and send me a white phone, I'm going to send it back with an angry note. There is no white phone in this dojo!
