Ok, as of now I still don't have my iPhone. I might get it today but yesterday it seems like the gods conspired against me to obtain one.

When the 3GS came out I pre-ordered it from Apple and got it the same day. I figure I will do the same thing this time, but noooo AT&T and Apple and to mess everything up.

Then I went to pre-order it from Best Buy upon reading people here how good they are. What a joke that has been, since Wednesday I have been getting the run around claiming they didn't receive enough, etc, etc. I was number 6 in the list so they told me I was a pretty much guaranteed one, I guess it is not up to them really.

So, since I saw that Best Buy was getting me no where I went to a Apple store that barely opened yesterday, I figured they will have a lot, right? I am in line for 5 hours and right when I am third in line they come out and say iPhones are all gone now. :slap The whole time I was in line they came back saying we have enough for everyone, until my turn was up. At least I talked to the manager and she gave me a $25 iTunes gift card and placed me in a priority list. I bet there are 1,000,000 people ahead of me though.

To make matters worse, I place my old 3GS on eBay and someone contacted me and offered me $300 cash for pick up. I figure sure, why not. After eBay fees and Paypal fees that is what I would have left plus I don't have to deal with shipping. So I tell him we meet next week and do the exchange, simple right? I receive an e-mail from eBay telling me that the eBay account was hacked and used for fraudulent activities. Now I am afraid to meet the person. Might get mugged or who knows what. I could always ask them to meet me in the police department to do the exchange there, ha, ha.

Well, let's see what today brings; at least I got my iPad Tuesday, I have that to play with until I get my iPhone.

That totally sucks Luis!!!! :banghead

I can't even imagine how difficult it is for Apple to accommodate the swarm of people. But that's great that they gave you a GC and put you on a priority list.... What does that "priority" entitle you to though? At least you got an iPad though :rock

But yeah, be careful about meeting up man. I just sold my 3Gs right after picking up my iPhone 4 yesterday. What I would suggest is at least getting Mobile Me and being able to at least erase and possibly track your phone in the event that this person tries to run off with it. But just make sure to meet in a VERY public place (starbucks, police station, etc)

It sure does suck.

The GC came in handy since I just got my iPad and it is pretty much app less, at least iPad specific apps. The priority list entitles me to being one of the first that will receive a phone call once they receive them.

I do have Mobile Me. I also have a police station close to me, I will ask them to meet me there. If they are legit they should have nothing to fear since it is not illegal to buy an iPhone.

I want to ask them what's up wit the eBay e-mail I received though. Maybe I should just leave that alone.

If you want to test Face Time but don't know anybody else with an iPhone 4, you can call Apple at 1-888-FACETIME and talk with a random Apple employee via FaceTime.

I ____ you not.

Ok so I need some advice. I have my 32GB Black Iphone 4 and had a nice chat with the peeps at AT&T and Apple. Apparently there is an app called Mobile Protect which is ran by Asurion. You have 30 days from the day or purchase to enroll in there insurance plan which covers accidental damage and theft/loss of phone. Once the app is downloaded you can enroll through your phone and it requires a 200$ deductible and 11.99$ a month. Now My sister and her hubby went ahead and got this but not sure if I should. You fellas think it's worth it????

I dunno, but I saw this article yesterday: https://gizmodo.com/5571866/your-iphone-4-warranty-and-insurance-options

That should help you decide.

Not worth it IMO. Best Buy tried to get me for $14.99 a month for my 3G, hell no. Just try your best to be careful with it.

200 plus 12 a month? No way. Try square trade they have protection its like 100 for two years and includes accident protection. I don't have it but it popped up when I got my invisible shield registered. Looked like good deal but didn't fully investigate. Also some people have special deal through there home/renters insurance. There are lots of options do the research and pick the best for you.

Being a celebrity may have its perks, but as Jason Bateman learned, that’s not always a good thing.

The actor was one of more than 2,000 people who lined up outside an Apple store in L.A. yesterday to purchase the highly coveted new iPhone 4. But the Hollywood star didn’t spend much time among the little people – Us Weekly reports that the former “Arrested Development” star, 41, was escorted out of line and into the store.

“Everyone literally started booing and hissing,” an eyewitness told the magazine of the angry mob. And Bateman’s reaction? “He put his head down,” another onlooker said.

Is there an app for saying “I’m sorry”?
