Ok appart those characters, I mean come on, we are talking about the Colonial Marines and their cool hi-tech arsenal! how can you not find them amazing? Even design wise, they are unique. If thats how you see alien and predator movies then I don't think you're a real fan
Oh dear. The dreaded 'not a real fan' reproach... as if there were some formal definition of what constitutes a real fan. Different people like the films for different reasons. Creature freaks just want to see a cool monster, but a lot of more casual viewers need the hook of the human characters. I think a lot of the reason that Alien, Aliens and Predator stand out over their successors was the very strong characterization that went with those films. They're not
just monster movies.
Anyway, the USCM are the exception rather than the rule where the Aliens / Predator films are concerned; which is why Leading Edge, Kenner, McFarlane and Hot Toys have all done figures of them (and I can think of others, just from so long ago I can't remember the manufacturers).
OTOH, the other human characters are all quite generic, at least looks-wise, so it's not surprising they're largely ignored from a collectible point of view. The
Predator cast have a lot of appeal to the military market, but I suspect not the others... I'll be very interested to see how well the Nostromo crew sell.
