There is a reason for the price increase, they want to make a profit, and were making very little if any in attempt to win control of HD market and now that they did they have to raise prices to make money.

IMO I don't see the big deal. It's clear that Sony lowered their prices below the median to attract more followers. Now with their price hike their prices are where they SHOULD have been all along. whats the damn problem here? You guys are upset you wont be able to buy BR stuff for dirt cheap so you throw a fit against Sony?

They'll go down eventually,just don't buy them.(may take a while but it'll happen)I knew Blu-ray would win a long time ago it's just a bit better...simple.

I only buy the must haves anyhow so it won't really effect me.

Now that Blu-Ray has no competition, they don't have to compete on price anymore. They should watch out, if the government deems them to have a monopoly on HD DVDs, they could be in for some tough trouble

I can't say I'm shocked. Sony knows for right now its got us. Eventually they'll come down as all things do but until they do I can't see myself buying much BR stuff.

Sony is like any other major company they'll look to screw ya as long as they can.

no suprise..it'll come down because it has to to compete with DVD's plus it can't low ball the price or PS3 sales will suffer. right now they can sell a ps3 and sell movies and games and the ps3 is a more appealing purchase than a stand alone player for the average consumer.
