Arghhh, New Hot Toys- Captain Jack sculpt revealed me hearties

Thanks. Looks like both HT and Enterbay have some kinks to iron out. But hey I think they're both pretty decent already. Feel kinda spoiled.

Can definately see Depp in EB's without the facial hair but HT not so much.

In fact HT's looks really young, I wonder if they are using that base sculpt for Lerner from Platoon and then just adding hair for Jack?

Did you just take the eyes from the film-still and plant them over the eyes of the figure? "Hot Toys, instead of the PERS eyes you've given him I would like you to give him Johnny Depps actual eyes from this particular pic as I have demonstrated here" Easier said than done!

Honestly one of the reasons I'm so looking forward to Blackbeard aside from the fact that he looks and is totally the definition of Bad-***, is he won't have PERS eyes. They really haven't helped a figure yet likeness wise.

They see Depp because of the illusion of the costume of Jack Sparrow, while some of use look at the actual sculpt and kinda see a white dude in a Jack Sparrow costume. Its close though.

I have to agree with this. It's weird how there's such a huge uproar over Indy but this figure isn't any closer to looking like Sparrow than the Indy one is to looking like FOrd.

Or maybe we see Depp in the sculpt and you don't? I love how someone has to be in the wrong here and you make sure it is the ones who like the sculpt that are the ignorant masses. Even under close evaluation, this looks incredibly accurate.

I find it really funny that people consider people who do see Depp in the sculpt as being inferior. I guess I'm low class scum then because I think it looks like Depp.

I say people that don't think Hot Toys nailed Depp's sculpt are the same people that comment "Wow nice Honda Accord" when a POS Honda Accord drives by just because they love Honda i.e. those people are Enterbay fans and will automatically deem anything from Enterbay as more accurate. They don't see Depp because their blinded by EB fanboy love, while some of us who aren't bias look at the actual HT sculpt and see Johnny Depp (who IS a white dude) in an accurate Jack Sparrow costume.
