Argo was awesome. I didn't mind it beating Lincoln but I do think Lincoln was the best of those nine.

They were all pretty good this year, but of those nominated Argo and Lincoln were the two I felt most deserved it.

And now Affleck is a well-played card or two away from owning Hollywood for a long time. Who the hell woulda thunk that just a few short years ago? Wow.

Lucasfilm probably should've nabbed him for Episode 7 when they had the chance. Unless the little SW fanboy inside him prevails (which is possible, the son's room in ARGO with all the vintage SW toys and sheets was modeled after Ben's own childhood room) they might not sniff him next time. Though someone like him would be good for a darker middle chapter, with solid characterization and substance.

Definitely not me. After his run of Daredevil, Gigli, Paycheck, and Jersey Girl I seriously thought he would be done working on anything period.

Yeah, apparently after GOOD WILL HUNTING (which he was good in) he decided to save his true acting efforts for movies he directs, because he's actually really good in both THE TOWN and ARGO. And he's an even better filmmaker than he is an actor. Already one of the best we have. I don't think anyone saw that coming.

I'm glad for the guy. I really think he is good at what he does and comes across very intelligent. I actually think fairly high of him, damon, and clooney.

Viewed it on-demand Saturday night. Outstanding and well worth the Best Picture award. I was barreled over with the acting, set design, just the whole feel and emotion of the film. Really well done and I'm happy for Affleck.

To understand why i am a bit disgruntled over this, just watch the link i have provided.

This is my final post in this thread.

Pretty good movie, though I was a bit sad with how inaccurate it was to what really happend--in that it wasn't as tense and dangerous, a lot of stuff was added in there to make it more exciting. Still, it makes a good film.

Deliberate innaccuracies to real events are always acknowledged in the end credits of a film like this are they not? I know they don't go into specifics but theres usually something that tells you certain things may have been changed for dramatic purposes.

^indeed there was a line in the credits which stated that some elements of the film were fabricated for dramatic purposes.

Saying that in the credits it doesn't help much considering up until that point it's presented as being pretty much truth. Not that anyone should expect it to be true going in. Tt does say at the beginning of the movie that it's based on true events, but that could mean any amount of inaccuracy.

It certainly would have been a lot more boring if they just did it the way it actually happened.

Dammit. I'm so upset because I just found out that Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter isn't 100% accurate. I thought it was "inspired by real events?"

Way to go with the hyperbole. The draw for things like this is about things that actually happened, in that it's an amazing event. When something is made up it's predictable, you know they're going to pick up the phone just in time or that the soldiers will be right behind them but they'll get through it Ok.
