Re: Hot Toys VGM Series Batman: Arkham City - Batman Collectible Figure

Are there any other cons coming up that they may be able to have more reveals?

Re: Hot Toys VGM Series Batman: Arkham City - Batman Collectible Figure

I'm in a dillema, to sell my DX01 and get the DX11 or keep the DX01 to have both the Interrogation scene and standard.

As you know i'm a casual fan so i think just one Purple suit Joker is enough but at the same time don't want to waste the great second HS

Sell DX01, buy V1 for next to nothing, use left over monies to fund another figure.

Re: Hot Toys VGM Series Batman: Arkham City - Batman Collectible Figure

This needs to be revealed soon, if it wants to ride the TDKR train. And I need to see it.

Re: Hot Toys VGM Series Batman: Arkham City - Batman Collectible Figure

I'm not aboard the TDKR train... got my fill of the nolanverse.

I've been waiting for HT or SS to do styleized characters for a while. IMO AC has one of the best BM styles! :rock

I think I am done with Nolanverse figures as well. When Batman is eventually rebooted in film, I would love to see them follow the Arkham look. It wouldn't hurt to have the next film scripted and directed by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm.

In the interim, I am looking forward to collecting the Hot Toys Arkham figures as well as Sideshow's 1/6 DC line.

Yeah I'd love them to really change Batman's look for the reboot.
The last 20+ years have all been variations of Burton's original look - black armor of some type.

I'd like them to make the next look more of a moveable body suit - like the Spiderman movies, or more specifically the new Superman movie.

If we can make believe in the 'realistic' Nolanverse that Batman can actually glide on a cape that small, then we can make believe that a flexible body suit is made from a super strong material ....

Re: Hot Toys VGM Series Batman: Arkham City - Batman Collectible Figure

If Batman wore something closer to the comics on film, he would get shot and bleed to death. The Arkham games are different because he can take a point blank shotgun blast and his energy bar will still replenish itself. Let's see Aronofsky translate that.

Ill just quote myself, one post above your response.

If you can believe that Nolan's Batman can fly in that cape, then you can believe that a thick flexible is bullet proof.

There have been experiements with super strong thin material for a long time for both civilian and military applications - look up the spider goats :)

Having Batman in a costume style similar to the new Superman suit and saving its bullet proof is no less real than Batman gliding or 'The Bat' actually being able to fly.

....or I don't know, make Batman more vunerable and have him be more stealthy like the character is designed to be.

Does Bale actually get shot at any time in the Nolan movies?
...honestly can't remember...

But either way, don't you want to see something new and different rather than seeing another variation of Keaten's suit ?

Ah yes ...meant 'shot' not 'shot at'

I do remember him being shot at a lot :D

Re: Hot Toys VGM Series Batman: Arkham City - Batman Collectible Figure

this needs to be revealed asap! love the game and I cannot wait for his Hot Toys version of Batman. A Catwomen would be awesome too

Re: Hot Toys VGM Series Batman: Arkham City - Batman Collectible Figure

But she won't happen. HT apparently doesn't like Catwoman and we're lucky to be getting a TDKR one.

Re: Hot Toys VGM Series Batman: Arkham City - Batman Collectible Figure

Of course they're going to say they're unsure, it would be bad business not to. They've got Anne Hathaway Catwomen to sell, they aren't going to be announcing anpther one until after everyone has bought up that release.

Re: Hot Toys VGM Series Batman: Arkham City - Batman Collectible Figure

This thing seems to be in development purgatory.

I wish we could get a preview. I've held off on picking a Batman and Joker for my collection due to this announcement. I know for sure the '89 Batmobile will be mine.

Not exactly the same aesthetic as Arkham Bats, but for me it's the definitive Batmobile...and it'd be nice to know which Batman and Joker will be joining the vehicle in my collection. I thought for awhile about having Keaton and Nicholson sitting in the car together along with any other version of Batman I might have...but now I think I'd just like to display the Batmobile by itself, with the hatch open and no one inside so that all the instruments are visible. Still a long way off and plenty of time to decide...but that's my latest conclusion.

But she won't happen. HT apparently doesn't like Catwoman and we're lucky to be getting a TDKR one.

Their loss. I would definately rather buy a HT Arkham City Catwoman, but as it stands now I suppose Sideshow's Sixth Scale Catwoman will be joining Arkham Bats.

I don't get the "she won't happen" stuff. What part of "unsure" don't you folks understand? It's not a definitive "no". I get the feeling that we may be seeing Batman in the next couple of months. Who knows? Maybe even next month. the initial TDKR blitz is finished after Catwoman, and Howard has made it pretty clear that we won't be seeing Returns stuff until December, so that leaves a good 3-4 month gap to fit Arkham Batman into. I'm wondering if we might see The Joker, too.

In the interview, it said HT doesn't like the Catwoman character so they don't have a lot of interest in making one. Which made it sound like we only got the Hathaway Catwoman because it was from TDKR and that has been a faithful cash cow for HT. Arkham has yet to prove itself. As it stands, it made it sound like Batman, Harley, and therefore Joker were the 3 figures they are planning on currently.

Re: Hot Toys VGM Series Batman: Arkham City - Batman Collectible Figure

Eh, we'll see. This wouldn't be the first time the language barrier has left something "lost in translation". We've still got two other licenses with Catwoman as a pretty central figure, so I'd find it hard to believe that they'd miss out on the potential income that an AC Catwoman would produce just because they don't like her.(?)
