Finally, some decent photos! Cheers man, he looks great and that pose is perfect. First thing I've noticed that I'm gonna fix is the collar on his coat. It's a dark burgundy velvet in the movie. Minor detail but it definitely adds to that traditional country gent style.

What did you make the staff out of? Real stick? Chopped down Gandalf staff? Something else?

I actually just cut one of my extra Gandalf staffs down to size. It was intended as a placeholder till I made one but it's looking to doing the part just fine so I may just leave it.

Just grabbed a Rogue One Chirrut staff from Toy Anxiety. Hopefully that will chop down to the right size ...

Finally got my Bilbo delivered and surprisingly enough he hit my doorstep with another shockingly awesome package that was a gift from my Dad and Brother!! They surprised me with this beautiful Middle Earth Blu Ray Collection for Xmas. I literally had to pick my jaw up off the floor.

Bilbo is absolutely great! I love him. Only not pick I would say is I wished Asmus gave him a smiling sculpt. I think it would suit Bilbo.

Maybe an expansion Asmus? Lol

Awesome pics! :clap Congrats on the blu-ray set too - very nice! :rock

from what I can see here the execution of the sculpt seems to be at the highest level I've seen from asmus. Likeness lacks a bit bit this is a win in my book. I'm not after any Hobbit figures but If I were to have one this would be the one. Want to see more figures like this. Asmus, go back and fix Arwen before she is released!

Haha yeah I’d hate to see Asmus regress after their latest home runs. You can tell they probably work the hardest of any company to listen to collectors critiques and make improvements. That Arwen sculpt is unacceptable. Almost as bad as hot toys three failed attempts at Wonder Woman sculpts lol

What do you mean "batteries and multiple tiny switches"?

For sure my cell phone camera isn't helping or the fact I know pretty much nothing about photography. In hand, the paint IMO is really great - camera seems to pick up more hollow-ness than is there. Head seems a tad large, but just a bit. It's the body too tho I can see ASMUS wanted keep the articulation with the layers of clothes (I have a fair number of Capt. America w. usual articulation/costume issues in the arms).

I like the joints are tight; hand switchout firm but not ridiculous. Maybe ASMUS plays with their figs a bit before shipping to see if things actually work, unlike HT who doesn't seem to check what a customer will deal with (like all those Iron Man batteries and multiple tiny switches).

Iron Man figures from Hot Toys have light up features, but the way they're done, they're usually a pain in the *** to access and a ***** to get the batteries into the tiny compartments, which sometimes you can hardly get to. So I think they're just saying that Asmus makes their figures more consumer-friendly in a handling regard.

Oh that bluray collection does look exactly as the one thing I'd like to get this Christmas! :)

Outstanding pose. You are not only rocking Bilbo's attitude, but also that doubly articulated neck, which lends such a human expressivity to poses!

Outstanding customized Coomodel Werewolf base. Which I could get one of those... No longer available anywhere... Any tips about all that added vegetation? Where did you pull it from?

Outstanding pics. Glad I picked whis beauty up. Outfit color combination is just sweet...

Outstanding realism in the heasculpt. Accuracy, as always, is off. Glad that I don't mind that, even if I have to point it out since some people say this is accurate! It is not!

And last but not least: that head is utterly and hopelessly disproportionate. Way too big, and it can be easily proved to all naysayers. Inner proportions first: compare the picture on the figure's art box with pictures of the figure itself. Hair looks more like a small halo surrounding the head, not that thick helmet! Then proportion wrt body: again, look at the art box, and compare head height from chin to top against some other part of the body. For instance, I am "cutting" the head (chin to top) and putting it just where the last vest botton is (I use 2 fingers to measure the head, than move that measure so that it begins at that last botton's height). If you do that, in the art box picture the head's top is at mid-neck height. In the figure (upright, up close, full front pic, one of the last ones), head's top is at mouth's height!! That's way much more and way too much!!

Thanks! The vegetation is from fake plants from Hobby Lobby. I just plucked them off and put them on the base. Easy peasy.

I actually have two of these bases I loved it so much I had to pick up a second when they were still available. Coincidentally the other is displayed with my Gandalf and Frodo. [emoji23]

I was wondering when this would come up - I had been hoping it was just bad photography - in the pix the head looks ridiculously large compared to the body.

The other four Asmus hobbits have oversized heads too so at least it's in keeping with them.

I wouldn't compare HT quality control with Asmus. A lot of folks got burned on the Frodo slims and GtW.
