I bought mine from their site. I believe I got free shipping at least I haven't been charged for it but I did choose to pay by Pay Pal so I did pay for the figure up front. I don't know if that's different if you use a credit card instead.

Are you certain you won't be charged shipping upon figure arrival? You see where it says free shipping ends may 30th 2013? Wrong or right -- they haven't changed that for 2 years?

I really want to get the money to Asmus directly, but I do not like their order site and I can't get answers to my questions there. I hope they revamp their site and make it clearer when you will be charged and get rid of the conflicting "free shipping" information.

Paypal is the only payment option but I used my credit card through the Paypal portal as I am not a big fan of Paypal in general (they have been instrumental in the busting of certain comedic entertainers who decided to sell paraphernalia online (Tommy Chong)).

They charged my credit card upfront and I received the invoice via email. During the checkout stage there is a free shipping radio button, there are no other buttons so that is the only choice just like the Paypal is the only "choice". They state that if it does not ship on time you get a refund which is odd but slightly reassuring.

I figure, I have bought enough of their stuff through BBTS now that I would give this one a try directly from them. Hope it comes earlier too because BBTS usually have their stock later than a lot of you on here have received yours from other vendors.

It was actually a lot easier than ordering directly through ThreeZero via Paypal.

I might get this directly from them, too. I love the service and convenience of BBTS, but they do take forever to get their shipments in. Might be nice to cut out the middle man on this one and make sure the manufacturer gets a bigger chunk of my collecting dollar.

Do they have a time limit like ThreeZero for how long they'll have him available directly?

BBTS takes months after initial release, but they don't charge your card right away which is good. Anyway, i guess i'll just order from the Asmus site if shipping is free, i find it odd that international shipping is free for such a big box of an item, but oh well.....may as well take advantage of that. Will need to wait till i get paid till next week though.

Well remember if they sell it directly they get all the profit. If bbts sells it for $180 Asmus didn't sell it to them for $180. We will see one way or another I guess. If it costs them $30 to ship it but they sell them to bbts for $130 they would still make more money doing the direct sale with free shipping.

Great, thank you for the explanation.

I think I'll preorder direct from them too!
Don't see ant others except for saurman tho? I'd like to preorder aragorn from them too!

Does anybody know if Asmus has a time limit for direct pre-orders through them like ThreeZero does? Or will they have him available (with free shipping) for a while?

(Sadly, I just don't have the cash available right this minute.)

Absolutely beautiful looking figure! I love the patterns that went into the robes! Does anyone else think that the hair color is a tad off though? It looks a little bit yellowish to me and doesn't seem to match the beard color as it should. The hair also might be a little too long, but that is a very simple fix. Overall, he looks excellent and will be my first Asmus figure purchase. :)

Funny, I got a BBTS alert for new item -- Saruman -- that says $199.99. They must have decided to lower the price after that email went out.

Yeah, I got that too and then clicked the link and it is the lower price someone mentioned... still $10 there and another $10 for their cheap shipping and that is an extra $20. Not to mention that Asmus will only get a portion of it. I do appreciate BBTS but if I am paying the same or less might as well have that money go towards making their next figure as good as this one and then we all win.

This really looks fantastic. I'll order from BBTS in a few weeks. Gotta wait to see what's coming up during ComicCon.
