I think the figure looks good. The head sculpt has a lot of potential. I would repaint it If had the chance to do so.
I might pick one from ebay or toy anxiety

I'm at a loss as to what people are seeing in this figure. It looks like a cheap ebay bash. The gauntlet looks like it's split up the inside; the cloak and clothes look very poor quality as do the cheap hands; he looks extremely pale and ill and his hair is just peculiar.

I'm puzzled by the love for this one.

The bracers are supposed to be split on the inside.

Everything else is not worse or better than what HT produces.

There have been outright hateful things said about this, about other figures, and about Asmus as a company. I am not going to search through hundreds of pages to find the insults but they are there. A certain poster has probably said something rude about every release so far. You would think that a person with such a negative interaction with a company would not frequent threads about them, but he still does.

yep I remember that stuff too. It's not specific to this thread but across all the Asmus threads.

We all have our own preferences and see things differently. I never mind constructive criticisms b/c that means we're trying to work towards something potentially better. However there are some ppl who like to think their bashing is actually "constructive." It's part of the reason I just ghost around the forum nowadays instead of actually logging in and posting.

Yes, but these braces are literally split - they don't appear to actually touch and it looks as if the sculpted metal clasp is split in two.

They do look cut there. Like they needed to be cut for some reason to fit.

If not, it's pretty usual for prototypes to be put together in less than perfect fashion...

I really do like the look of the boots on this guy. The ACI boots are just awful. The real material for the glove looks great too.

They don't seem to be offering the second head. (Which I don't want in its current form but I have every expectation that Asmus is changing it.) I may switch my order over to Sideshow. Gotta love the Flex system ...

I'm hoping Sideshow picks up the rest of the line, too. Aragorn may be the test figure to see if it's worth their while. I'd prefer to flex these figures rather than get socked all at once.

Switched my order over to Sideshow. Don't really want/need the extra head, I get to Flex it, and it's worth a couple Reward Points. Works for me!

Yeah I'm keen to see what it's like in hand. Really want to love this figure but the headsculpt doesn't do it for me. Might have to settle for just getting GtG.

When I was looking through my emails and saw SSC's with Lord of the Rings in the title, I got really excited. I thought maybe they were announcing a new PF or statue. Darn it!

It looks like Sideshow is the only retailer not offering the alternate head sculpt with pre-order.

Asmus if you are reading this you should look into quickly correcting this if possible. The only reason I can see for Sideshow to not have the alternate portrait available is due to their lateness in offering this figure.

All this being said I'm also looking forward to production pictures of both head sculpts as they do look a bit off. I would love to see the likeness up to par with Saruman and Bard.
