So I got it in the mail. The tailoring is leagues better than DMC4 Dante, and the weapons are a straight upgrade. Asmus was right, the boots don't hinder ankle articulation at all somehow, would've preferred a two part boot, but it's still pretty great. Lower torso articulation is non existent, bottoms of pants aren't as baggy as they ought to be, and there's some issues with the stitching in the armpit on the coat as well as over tightness in the arms when trying to move them up or backwards. Hair could've been a bit whiter too.
It's a really great figure and the likeness is way better in person than the recent promos, aside from teh few hitches in articulation, it's actually pretty incredible and posable. Best rendition of DMC3 Dante in toy form for sure and looks great in nearly any pose. The pants are perfect in the crotch, doesn't seem to catch stretch or tear or look awkward, no idea how they managed that honestly. Gun holsters are incredible, metal detailing superb, and the magnetic face switching and Kalina Anne was not necessary but a very cool addition. They vibrant red they used for his coat is phenomenal, they didn't wash it out like the old revoltech or make it look plasticy like the play arts. The coat magnet for the sword attachment is even better than before!
Most of my hang ups are slight articulation tolerances, one lack of a joint (unless it's there and it's tight enough that I think it's not there), construction of the boots, and the color of the hair. I'm also weary of the pleather being damaged over time as is the nature of the material, and really any figure like this in the scale that uses pleather, because god damn does this thing look stunning.
If you're on the fence about Dante here, I would get this, I don't think we'll ever have a better rendition, Smokin figure. Makes me super excited for Nero since he'll have more of the magnet action and no pleather goods. Keep up the good work asmus, I hope you guys continue improving your figures for more home runs lie this.
