Animarket has the set for $239.99. Are they reliable ? Urban Samurai is sold out of the
preorder now.
Dang! That made me jump off the fence in regards to the individual Nazgul. Just ordered and asked them to combine shipping. Thanks for the head's up, mah45.

How do all these places have it for so much cheaper than BBTS?

:tap
I used to pick-up Marvel Universe stuff from BBTS, here and there, and it was pretty instructive in regards to their pricing policies. They're quite volatile but they will absolutely gouge you for a coveted piece. They're so big, maybe they just don't feel like going through the whole 'start reasonable but raise the price as time goes on' routine. Instead, they'll start high and stay high because they know it'll sell out.

Great price. But $54 to ship for me. So the price becomes $295. Might as well stick with BBTS. At least if something's wrong BBTS has always been really good with me with any problems.

I bounce if this pops up again for $250 somewhere with like $20 or less shipping.

I have to say I find it quite distressing that there's such a discrepancy in the price range. $70 is a huge spread.

Please Asmus, if you could sell internationally online.
I´m trying to buy your figures from Brazil, but sellers always want to make it 2, 3 times more expensive !

bbts might have guessed at $299 to start or it might be due to the fact they are still sitting on past releases so they might have to sell the past ones for less then they wanted to. Another factor could be that when they put them up at $299 a bunch of us pre-ordered it to be safe (because you can always cancel without a charge from bbts) and if they have a bunch on pre-order for $299 dropping the price to $249 would mean you just lost $50 from every pre-order. If they ordered 50 and have 26 on pre-order and 24 remaining in stock (last time I check I saw 24 remaining) that's $1,300 in profit they would be forking over if they dropped the price.

They have a note on the listing that this item is "for sale in China and Taiwan only"? I've emailed them on the off chance, but if I can order from them it'd save me around $70.

Yea but if they were priced in line with their competitors then they may sell more. I am preordered at BBTS but may cancel and order somewhere else if the savings will justify it. The only reason I haven't already is I'm waiting to see if BBTS drops their price as I do feel safer ordering from them. Going to go a couple days more and probaby cancel my order. Seems to me that some of the retailers went about 50 bucks higher then the MSRP.

It is strange that they haven't dropped it. I pre-ordered a few transformers masterpieces from them and I think on just about all of them I received emails after I pre-orderd them that the price had dropped and they adjusted my order amount. That's why it is strange they did not do it for this one yet. I still need to cancel my pre-order since I have one through Urban Samurai now. I mgiht keep one combo and single on pre-order just in case the price drops and I can somehow afford a second.

We also don't know if the $250 price is set for sure by Asmus. It's possible Urban Samurai is trying to undercut the MSRP to steal sales. We just don't know. My guess is that BBTS will eventually drop the price once Asmus puts out a more official MSRP or BBTS sees they are the only one selling for $299. I don't think they will change the price just because of one other store.

They're selling at MSRP - how is that starting high? BBTS have been around a long time. Not implying anything about other dealers, but the last thing you want is a Mother's Basement situation where you not only don't get the item, but lose your money as well.

Most retailers sell below MSRP. Both Urban Samurai and Toys Square, here, are usually the full 8% below MSRP that Sideshow allows its distributors. In this case, BBTS is fully $50.00 more than Urban Samurai (and that's not even factoring in shipping and duties for Canadian customers). Also, Urban lists the MSRP @ $290.00 US, so BBTS is $10.00 over. Lastly, Urban does not even take a deposit, let alone ask for the pre-order to be paid in full, so a Mother's Basement scenario cannot happen. They do have a PayPal option on preorders, and whether that allows for partial/full payment in advance, I don't know. I certainly wouldn't risk something like that, though.

I think I did the Pay Pal option and it did not ask for any kind of payment yet. I think they might ask for something when it's being shipped to them and its due by the time the figure arrives at their store. At least that is how I understand it.

Yep, they will ask for payment once the figures are being shipped, and the wait at that time can feel a bit long, especially if stuff is held by customs. Though I've had to wait a bit longer for their orders than I have for SSC or BBTS, the orders have always arrived. I was looking at my pre-order bill, last night, and comparing it w/BBTS. Between the set and the individual Nazgul, I saved $95.00 US. Add in savings on shipping and no duty, and that basically means the Nazgul was free.

Pre-ordered Steed+ Wraith . If I get to save up a bit more next month, I`ll reserve 2 more.

I looked at Monkey on fire site. They have the steed and Nazgul priced at $280 . But they also list the combo price at $250 ( no option to select combo pack). Will they adjust the price at the of order ? They have a $25 flat shipping rate.

After pre-ordering the WitchKing from the Canadian store SuperPowerCollectibles, it went bankrupt, didn't get the figure, and it took several several several more months to even get my money back. I'm chalkin' that up to "Lesson Learned". So I'll only be pre-ordering domestically from now on where we have LAWS against these shenanigans. You gamble with going overseas or north of the border to save $20 and you have little to nil recourse if it all goes bad.

Though probably the wisest decision is to just wait until the set comes out first, in case the horse leg joints are so loose the rider can't even sit on top of it without buckling....lol.

Again, not comparable since Urban doesn't take deposits on pre-orders. It's a shame what happened with SPC, but I have to give the owner a lot of credit for overcoming a bad situation and getting everyone their money back, even if it's taking a while. It's not like he intended to rip people off, like say Mother's Basement. Anyway, I'm not really worried about it.
